September 2008 Travelers - Put your hands up!!

I'm surprising DH for our 12th Anniversary! I'm telling him about it on our actual Anniversary on 9/7. And then after his big work deadline we'll be at DLR 9/19 through 9/21. He's the sort of guy - unlike me - who will enjoy the trip more if given a little bit of notice ahead of time. I have the flights booked so that we get almost 3 entire days at the parks!

We are staying at the GCH and since this is a grown-up only trip I plan to spend most of our time relaxing at the pool, in the room, and going into the parks occasionally. We are AP holders and so there isn't a lot of pressure to do all the rides, etc. We plan to be reaaaaaallly leisurely.

We are going to be dining at Club 33 for the first time - yay! And we will make a point of going on a few rides together since that is a rarity for us with small children.

Hotel - booked

Flights - booked

Bidding on Priceline for rental car - ongoing

Tickets - already have AP's

The only PS we're making is Club 33. The rest we just want to on the spur of the moment and we'll likely do room service a few times. :thumbsup2

Babysitters - my parents are coming to our house :lovestruc

We are also planning to tour the new Villas at the Grand Californian models!

I'm trying not to count down too much because I don't want to wish the summer away.

I am confused. Some of you are going for 8 days but not getting an AP? I am trying to make this decision. Am I correct that if we buy a deluxe and need to go on a blockout day we just pay a small fee???

WDW vets going Sept 6-12. Staying at HoJo's. We are flying in to LAX from ATL. We still have to arrange shuttle/rental car, purchase tickets, and make Priority seating ressies.

Is it September yet???

Me-1st Visit to DLR
DH-From L.A. - grew up going to DLR
DD (20 months)- 1st visit to DLR

We will be at HO JO's too. Got the great rate.:goodvibes
We have three of our Grandkids lliving in Buford, neighbors to you...:) Are you buying the AP?

I have often thought of flying them out to LA to meet us for Disney sometime. Do you mind if I ask what the airline tickets are running from Atlanta to LA?

I am going to ask a stupid question: Are you excited?????:rotfl2:

WHO ME?????? You Betcha.. :yay: :dance3: :woohoo: :cool1: :cloud9: :rolleyes1 :cheer2:

I only wish the Grandkids would be with us, but maybe next time. We usually meet them in WDW.

Does anyone know if they are giivng anything to those who tour the GCVillas? In Fla they give $100. Disney dollars or at least they did when we visited Saratoga Springs three years ago.

Wow, lots going in Sept, woohoo!!

We'll be there the 12th through the 21st. We're driving so the first and last days will be spent mostly driving.

done:
hotel ressies (Park Vue, DLH, GC)

still to do:
GAT 8-day hoppers (will upgrade to AP's after we take advantage of the two MM's)
PS at Blue Bayou

I'm not sure how the numbers pan out but one other reason folks might choose Park Hoppers over an AP is to get into some Magic Mornings if they are not staying on site. You can't do that with an AP. Plus the blockout day pass is $40 and the cost was increased last September so there is a risk of it happening again . . .

There some discounts at many of the restaurants for Deluxe AP holders but it's only 10%. There is no discount on merchandise. You have to run the numbers on your specific situation to assess the value of the AP.

We will be there Sept 8-13 :cool1: at HOJO's. Me :surfweb: DH,pirate: DD,princess: DD,princess: and DS :tigger: will be first time.
We have PS for Goofy's, Ariels, Carnation Cafe, and BB.

Rough schedule started (yes, PP will be first) but as soon as the entertainment schedule is up I will be reworking it.

We have a countdown calendar. Adding a Mickey Head every day.::MickeyMo

I will be making matching shirts for our family and am currently working on a project (a "lapbook") with my kids to become familiar with DL. They will be helping with the ****s too, they just don't know it yet. ;)

Also gathering things for the car trip there and back along with cute surprises that "Tinkerbell" will be leaving in our hotel room if the kids are good. :tink:

I still need to purchase the tickets from GAT and make packing list and all the other pre-planning stuff that I like to do. :hourglass

For those going between September 15-19--there are Parent Teacher Conference and half days in the Orange County School District. Do you think this will affect attendance? I hope not! I wanted to go a week earlier, but my family overruled me. :sad2:

My best friend and I are going from September 12-20th.
We are leaving the kids and husbands at home to celebrate our 40th birthdays and over 35 years of friendship!
Flight has been booked since May and we are staying at Hojo's (of course)
with a premium Disney view room with the Entertainment rate.
Just last week I booked all our Priority Seating!
I am just bummed that Fantasmic is not going to be playing as we were going to do the dessert premium seating on the actual night of my birthday!
Oh well, I am going to be in Disneyland on my actual birthday and that in itself, is a dream!
