I need to add a day to my ressie, but am afraid to do it too soon and then miss FD if it's offered. OH! I just don't know what to do!

I think you don't understand the way it works. It doesn't matter what is on your reservation now. When free dining is announced and you book it, they wil lcancel your origional reservation and mae a whole new one. Sometimes only certain rooms are available as well. Some times one resort may be booked already while others have alot of openings, so you may not get what you have origionally asked for anyways. But if you want a certain hotel and certain area, and are going whether you get free dining or not, then you can add your extra day now. Just be aware that if free dining is offered and you try for it, you may get something different. Or may have to change hotels.
Free dining is not automatically added to existing reservations, nor is it automically added to resrvations when you call the day it's offered. You have to tell them you want it. Sometimes they will add it to an exisiting reservation, but most of the time they don't.

Thanks for the info! I'll call this week and add the day I need to and then hope for FD to be available. It would be nice, but won't make or break our trip!

What kind of code is it? It may be a better deal than free dining, so I would see what the difference is (you can only do one or the other)

The PIN is a better deal. We used it, and booked the BWV with the code. BCV was not available with the PIN. They only had one bedrooms left. We really need a 2 BD Villa. But, we really want BCV so if FD is offered, we might pay more & do FD with BCV (if offered there). But, now that we're booked at BWV I'm excited and think we might stay there. We can always try BC next time, right?

Seems like the views at BWV are really nice, so I'm thinking it might be a "sign" and the PIN means we should just stay there!

Oh September just can't come soon enough!

When is your PIN good for? Any time in Dec too? I would like to get a good deal for Dec, and try to get DH to go again. I will have to patrol the mail now!

A question for anyone that knows. When yo uget a PIN or a deal liek free dining, how many rooms can you book with it. I have heard some say only 1, but I don't think that is right. I have heard more often that you can book only two. I'm not sure if this is with Disney or AAA or both or neither. Just curiois!

Yes, there were Dec dates. It was the 7th-13th.
This is our first time EVER getting a PIN. I still am shocked!

I think you can book 3 rooms with the FD or PIN. Of course, I'm not sure but for some reason I think it is 3.

So you need to book 3 rooms? I think you'll be able to.

we are going no matter what with or without FD. but its would be helpful to save some money, ya know?

Ok...So I added the extra day onto my trip, making it 9/20-29/2008 now. Well, i talked to the CM and asked about any way to save some money..and doesn't she figure it out so I saved almost $500!!! She ended up putting through a room only reservation, and then the tickets separately. We'll be using the Magical Express and picking up our tickets when we arrive.

Now if only we could get free dining too! WOOHOO!!!

My understanding is you can only use one discount, so it's either the free dining or the room discount, but not both. Which is better deal depends on the % of your discount and how many people are on the free DDP. When I was looking at possibilities for me & DH, it looked like the free DDP for 2 would be the better deal for Value & Moderate resorts against a 30% discount; only at the Deluxe resorts would the discount of 30 or 40% be better than the free DDP. I think you just have to do the math for both your possibilities...

If free dining comes out though, you'll have to switch to a package. You can't do a room only for free dining. Depending how long you will be there and how many in your party
this savings may be better than free dining.
