If I have already booked my trip and freee dining comes out can I call and still redeem the offer?

Thanks,

-Amy

Let's say Free Dining is offered in 2008, and I have already made my ADRs. Will I have to cancel the ADRs and make new ones?

In the past few years, have there been codes in Sept for anything other than free dining?

We've done free dining twice now, and while it was fun, last year we really burned out on all the ADR's. Plus we're thinking about staying at the Fort Wilderness cabins, where there isn't a food court (thus, it seems like the dining plan wouldn't be worth it.....) So, for our next trip (not until Sept 2009) I'm hoping for some sort room discount instead. Anyone remember if they had a room only discount last year? And, if so, could it be applied to a package (this room-only and package stuff always confuses me:lmao: )

Yes they had that come out for Sept and some people who missed out on free dining got that instead. I am not sure how mush off it was since we did not use it. I am almost positive it was for a package.

Yes, they did offer 40% off for room only discount if you didn't do the free dining. But no you couldn't add it to a package, it was room only.

This is a yes and no answer. Free dining is usually only offered for certain amount of rooms and sometimes in certain areas of the resort. So your origional request amy have to change abit. Also MOST of the time you have to make a new resevervation for the free dining and cancel the old reservation. Some CM's will just apply it to what you have, but technically that isn't the way it is supposed to work.

It's really no benefit to reserve a room ahead of time as you are not gaurenteed to get free dining if offered. And there is a theory that if enough rooms are booked for that time already, free dining doesn't need to be offered as an incentive then.
If that is true, booking a room ahead of time is just hurting your chances of free dining. But if you are going no matter if free dining is offered or not then I would book now.

I think that they will offer free dining. September is hurricane season and the slowest time for Disney- the economy is also bad...If they don't offer free dining there has to be some kind of huge discount. Just my thoughts...;)

What if you get free dining & then they come out with a 40% off room only discount. Can you switch to the 40% off or are you stuck with the free dining?

ok... i have a question...

If FD is offered, lets say for POP standard room package..they wont allow you to pay extra to stay in a preferred room???? :confused3

2 years ago, we had free dininh and stayed at Pop in a standard room, I vowed never to stay in standard agian..it was horrible, such a far walk to everything =[

we havent booked anything yet, still holding out =/

Well last year we stayed at Pop in a standard room... we really didn't have that long of a walk from where we were, but I know that isn't always the case. I do remember reading in the thread watch for free dining last year of people posting as they booked on the day of the first bookings, and several people did say that they got preferred.... it really does depend on what rooms that have been set aside for fd and what is left. If that helps you at all....

You can switch to the 40% off. As long as you are not within 65 days you can change the ressie at will.

Yes you can upgrade to preferred, Disney wants your money! That is what I have booked with bounceback right now. However, I would book now if that is what you want and then apply the code. Those rooms may be booked up by the time it is released. FWIW I have never lost a view or preferred room when applying a code in the first day or so after it is released, but I have if I needed to change dates at all.

thanks for the replies. Good to know. Now we just have to book the day of, when the code comes out.. or close to it.. lol
why does april feel like its taking forever to get here :surfweb:

Actually last year I had booked Pop prefered before free dining was offered because we were going if we got free dining or not. When the free dining was released to the public I called first thing in the morning and was one of the lucky ones who got right through. No Pop rooms prefered or not were available for mid September. I had to cancel my Pop room and rebook ASMu since it was that or ASp. ASMu only had regular rooms and ASp had both regular and prefered. So a certain room type might not be offered especially if it is all booked up without the discount. I did call back about 2 weeks after they released free dining after reading that rooms at Pop opened back up and I canceled ASmu and rebooked Pop and the only rooms at that time that were available were prefered rooms no regular. It is all going to depend what they need to fill.

HTH

I'm assuming you all have checked the Free dining 2008 watch thread...looks like there is a good rumor on another website & everything might work out for free dining! :thumbsup2
Yay!party:

I'm hoping to switch to BCV but worried that the deal will only include SSR & OKW. I might need some pixie dust!pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:
