I'm a Chicago gal too. Which airport do you fly out of? Midway or O'hare?
We always fly out of Midway. Southwest is usully our best bet, but last year Airtranairways beat them.

Airtran is down to 59 tonight for our Sept flights out of Midway. I was so hoping to use our SW credits but think I am gonna book

OMG !! I can't believe what I just paid for airfare.. My problem is I have to fly people out at specific times and dates so I had no choice but to book.. I hope they go down do I can have the credits

Wow, I just checked SW out of curiousity....approx $200 each way! I then checked out J.B. and it's only $79 each way! What's up with SW prices???

We were planning on driving down, but after seeing $79 airfares, I'm thinking about flying now!

Only downside I see in flying now...is how am I going to pack my alcohol and my magic bullet blender???

I usually wait until like July to book my airfare. Last year I had family panicking that it was getting so late to book, but I hadn't seen any sales yet for September, but I went ahead and booked upon their request.... the prices dropped two times on Jet Blue after that time. So, keep checking, the prices are always changing!

still no SWA updates but some are saying it is out already...

I didn't get the usual Ding telling me that new dates were available... but they are. It says it in grey on the bottom of the Ding window... also, I went in and checked the flights, but found the same thing that the other person from MA found... cheaper on Jet Blue, of whom I enjoy flying with the kids much more, as per the TV's!!!!! (SONG was better, but we'll take what we can get!) I am still going to wait until the fares drop... one of the flights is $99 because it is on a Thursday, and the other way is $79.....

Well I booked my flights tonight. I went through Delta. Got them for $178 round trip. Which is AWESOME I think. I get too nervous waiting for Dings or whatnot so I just booked. I have never been able to fly almost across country for under $200 so I jumped on it. I usually play the waiting game and end up getting nada. It's a relief to have them booked and now I don't have to think about it anymore!

O'Hare - I always end up with United.
