Im still debating when Im going to be taking my 7 yr old.. I was previously looking at December but the airfare is so high so Im thinking over Labor Day weekend Sept 2-5 instead.. Just wondering if anyone can tell me what to expect in the way of crowds, weather, etc..

TIA.. :wizard:

Well,if you don't count last year-the weather around Labor day should be hot and humid with a good chance of rain showers.

Normally the crowds would be low during September but you are going during a holiday weekend. I would expect a moderate crowd level but not anything like the summer crowds. Then again, I keep hearing that Disney is having record breaking attendance.

As Hurricane Jeanne was leaving and going towards North we are on our way down towards south. Drove under Jeanne and by the we got to FL after only 14 hours drive from Pa... the weather had been great! :goodvibes

Okay, so I followed the unofficial guide's best and worst days list in the book and planned and planned. Now, I look at the online one and it almost perfectly contradicts!!! So, now I have Cinderella's Breakfast, Fireworks Cruise, and other unchangeable plans set in motion. And now I am worried it is going to be miserable because of the crowds. Someone tell me that Sept. 28 - Oct 3 isn't going to be too bad even on a "parks to avoid" day!!!!

I'm almost afraid to ask bc. I have all of my PS's made, but.........where did you find the "parks to avoid days" listed?

From what I see at http://touringplans.com/BestDays.htm "Sept. 28 - Oct 3 isn't going to be too bad even on a "parks to avoid" day!!!!" :teeth:

I see "4's and 5's", which, IMHO, makes a "park to avoid day" still not so bad (some park as to be the 'avoid' park); but I know how I would feel if everthing "switched". Most likely, EMH and MNSSHP days changed since the book was published.

FYI: If you are looking in the 2005 Unofficial Guide and seeing 8's & 9's for late Sept-early October do not panic because it was a misprint. I emailed the author of the Ug and Len Testa, who is one of the contributors. Apparently it only occured in one of the printings for the 2005 edition due to a computer error. I was told that the best bet is to check out all the updated data at the touring plans web site. I was completely freaking out before I found out is was a misprint and almost changed my dates. Even with the rumored heavier attendance for this year, crowds in September should be fairly light. ;)

Don't put too much stock in those crowd predictions--.
But Labor Day weekend itself is likely to be crowded, as any Holiday might be.
WEather wise--Sept. is always hot ,but not unbearably so. Always a risk of hurricanes, but no one now can tell you if one will impact your Sept. vacation dates. Or my Oct 1-8 WDW vacation dates!!

I am also going Labor Day weekend and am hoping it won't be too crowded. The touring plans website is great but they list one number for the crowd level per day and it applies to all 4 parks so in reality just cause they say 5 doesn't mean all parks are going to be a 5. (ie MK maybe a 5 day AK could be a 2 day) ONLINE they listed 12/2 (friday) as a 6 only because it is MVMCP at MK but who is to say that Epcot or MGM is going to be that crowded also. In the 2005 edition of the UGWDW they listed 12/2 as a 1. If you scan the whole list online of best days there is not one day listed under a 4 which is supposed to mean 30-45 minute waits. I think it maybe busier this year than other years but with the London bombing people may start to scale back vacation plans.

I love the site and the book but would not cancel a trip just because of the crowd level rating listed.
