September 2, 2010 - Disney Wonder

we havnt set anything up for 2011 yet, realy wanted to see how this goes first. It really is our first time and make sure we dotn get to sick, and everyone has a great time.
We were actually looking at Disneyland for 2011, to see what it is like really want to put this DVC to work for me, but if the cruise is great then we will probably rebook on board.

We're planning on doing Disneyland in March of 2011. My husband and I haven't been there since we were kids and can't wait to take our kids.

got to admit I am envious of all of you who live in Florida and Disney is so much closer. The travel and expense part is what makes it hard to get there more often.

JustineMarie what was the weather like last year at this time, this is one of my conserns about this time of year

The weather was PERFECT last year on our cruise! It was sunny and hot during the day and warm at night. We didn't have any rain at all. We were on the cruise where they saved that man that jumped off the Carnival Cruise. I'm hoping to have great weather again this cruise

We're going on the August 16, 2011 cruise on the Dream...which Aug. cruise are you taking?

We will be on this cruise too! I couldn't pass up the 2 stops at Castaway Cay! We are going to do a week or so at DisneyWorld afterwards.

we would love to do the FE but you have to help me with it, again this is our first cruise together. Right now we are just getting our door decorations together.

Whats up with all this snow?? It just makes me wish its August now, that much more.

I'm sorry I've been absent for a bit - I'm working fulltime, going to school full time (second masters) and of course chasing my kid is a fulltime job!!!! So by the time this cruise comes around - I will be in sore need of a vacation

YES to the FE!! My daugther and I had an awsome time running around the ship last year looking for room numbers, the green disney heads, and fish extenders!! We got some really great things last year... the creativity of some of the people that hang out on these boards is amazing!! As we get closer I'd be more than happy to make a spreadsheet with everyones info.

skyman8963 the weather was awesome last august .... it rained for like an hour - while we were docked in florida so the sail away celebration was held inside - and it never rained again!! On castaway cay you could see the rain clouds and the darkening of the sky from the rain in the distance - but when I asked a CM if I should start heading back to the ship - the CM was all nonchalant with "Oh thats really far away, it'll never touch us" - he was right

I was thinking about the two stops at castaway cay in 2011 (5 nights) but then I saw for the same price and even a little less we could get a back to back (7 nights) so thats probably what we are going to do -

Does any one know if the "golden mickeys" are still going to be playing or if there will be a new show? and if so whats the name of the show?

I'll be joining you guys with DH for our 1 year anniversary. It's our first cruise and we absolutely can not wait!

I even went to Barnes and Nobles to pick up a book on the Disney Wonder Cruise. We chose the 8:15 dining option.

Hope the snow has gotten better. Unfortunately and fortunately, I have never had experience with snow.

I think it would be great if you would put together an FE list. My family and I would love to participate.

On our last cruise, we had the 8:15pm dinner which we really enjoyed. Unfortunately, it was a little hard on the kids so we had to change to the eraly seating on this cruise.

I finished reading that book and it's so helpful on what to expect. It's got a list of activities and the approx. cost on them, what parts on the ship are noisy, ideal locations for adults and locations for kids, popular shops, what to pack, what to wear, etc. Love it! I'm getting super excited!

Hey Everyone,
Sorry to say we had to change our dates, we are now going on the August 29th 4 night cruise, our friends that we are traveling with had to change so we did also. We will get 1 extra night now but it is $700 more for that 1 night in the same category Hard to swallow but I will try not to think of it. Hope you all have a great cruise.

Hey, it just means that the others will be missing out on our fun FE experience.

Glad to hear the snow was getting better. Here in South Florida it's been cooler than usual. We've been in the high 60s which is nice.

Woot!

We're booked on this baby for our first cruise ever!

We're staying at POR for 10 days first but still debating how to get to the cruise. As I understand it, we want to get there as early as possible (shortly after 1030 I believe).

I've been lurking on this site for a cpl weeks now trying to get up to speed. Just found out about this thread so I had to go register!

Anyone have any interesting comments particular to this specific cruise? Hopefully I'll have the regular stuff well understood before we get there, but this is probably the first cruise where most kids will have gone back to school? Our DS gets back into school late - on the 7th.

Hello Everyone......This will be our 4th Disney Cruise. Our 1st on the Wonder. Wanted to sail the Wonder before she is moved and replaced by the Dream.
We will be @ DVC Vero Beach for 4 days prior to sailing. Very Excited to be going back on board.

I will most likely be doing the FE also.....I need to find my FE. I am sure I put it in a safe place after our last cruise, just need to recall where that safe place is


to DisneyNewfie ....My Grandparents were Newfies...Mom still has lots if cousins there. She is hoping to finally visit there soon.

Hey Everyone! just wondering if anyone is visiting wdw beforehand? We are going to be at Wilderness lodge from Aug 25 - Sept 2. Also has anyone purchased travel insurance? We haven't yet and I wanted to asap. I think I am going through insuremytrip. I wasn't sure if anyone knew which plan was best. I want to insure my land portion and cruise and flights. I was leaning towards travelex select.

Also, we will do the FE. Ive never done it before so as long as someone walks me through it I would love to participate!
