Thanks for the newsletter Tracy! We are headed to Epcot today for one night for Food and Wine. We did not sign up for any special events - just planning to graze our way around the world. I will post highlights when I return.

I'm heading to WDW next Thursday (October 6) to also go to the Food & Wine Festival (and a Scrapbook Expo!!!!!)...can't wait to hear your report about the Food & Wine Festival!!!!

Kay...I've been thinking about you and the hurricane...how are you doing????? When is the wedding????

Tracy....great job on the newsletter...can't wait for issue #2!!!!!

I love the newsletter! I finally had the time to read it. It's going to be a great resource to keep track of everything that's going on. :flower:

I had the best day. We went to the Army/UConn football game. I haven't been to an Army game in years. The team isn't the best but they have the most amazing traditions. They have 5 or 6 paratroopers drop from a helicopter before the game begins. Each of them lands precisely mid-field. The parachutist with the American flag lands last.

There were two things that changed. There's a ton of cadets in one section. They used to wear their dress uniforms, now they wear fatigues. They never sit during the game. The other thing that was missing was the horse and mule. Now they have a guy dressed as a horse mascot, darn it. I loved seeing the Army Black Knight on the horse.

The best part is that we know one of the players. He went to HS with my kids. It brought a tear to my eye seeing him on the field. This was always his dream, and there he was. :goodvibes

West Point is uphill in all directions. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I went up 48 steps, got outside, went up more steps and proceeded to climb Mt. Everest where we parked the car. Celeste, that Marathon is going to be a piece of cake after today. :faint:

I'm more than up for some kind of meet in WDW in early December. With my DD getting married mid-November, I'd rather not plan it. I'm just a bit stressed out with wedding plans. :scared:

Yes, today was a very good day. :flower: :flower: :flower:

I just found this thread today, I am currently in a Guar. Cat 7, is it OK if I join in? How do I get a newsletter or is that just for people that cruised before? This is my first cruise and I am pretty nervous about it. I am afraid of getting seasick. I will probebly just read here for a while, if that's ok?

:sunny: Good Morning :sunny:
Just thought I'd check in and see how things are going here. I am up before the household. We have a full house this weekend. Football weekend. :sad2:
Tippy thinks it's great....handouts and belly rubs all the time.

WONDERful job on the newsletter!

Everyone have a great sunday and a good upcomming week.

Good Morning Bob (and all you 11 Night Cruisers!!!!)

I hope you have a good week too...I know I will.... I leave for WDW on the 6th for a quick 5 day trip!!!!! I'm staying with one of your Table 12 mates (Leslie) :maleficen ...and meeting up with Renae (auntrenae)...we are attending a scrapbook show and the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot...it's gonna be a blast!!!!....

P.S. Based on your signature...did Tippy really not receive your postcard from Castaway Cay????? If so, would you like me to send one from WDW????

Welcome hessman. You may want to call DCL since cat 7's are still being assigned. I was just told that there are 6 staterooms left in inventory. :flower:

Has anyone seen the Disney Ipod thingie???

Oh Scott, Scott, Scott :sad2:
Mp3 players are not Ipods and vice versa. I had read about the Mix Stick some time back. These will play .mp3 and .wma music files, not the apple .aac. Neat idea. Especially the Mickey head control interface (buttons).
The low $40 price will get Disney in the market to sell pre-loaded memory cards with Disney music (albums). I think that is where they will make the profit. Still, you can always upload your own Disney songs from your computer. :badpc:

Hey everyone - I hate to do this now, but we will not be going on the 11-night cruise anymore. After spending just 4-nights on the member cruise, we decided that 11 days is just TOO long with both girls. We just don't think that it will be all that enjoyable for us with missed naps, temper tantrums, etc. So, we've decided to break up our 11-night cruise vacation into a 7-night in May, and hopefully, the next member cruise.

Anyway, I've been keeping track of the celebrations of those on this cruise. If anyone is interested in taking this over, PM me, and I can email you my current list.

I wish you guys ALL the best, because I know that this is going to be an AWESOME cruise!!! I'm just hoping for some of those great itineraries for 2007. That way, Madison will be 3 and can go into the clubs too.

Just wanted to share with everyone. Today I went with my mom and sister to a 50th wedding anniversary. It was for our neighbors from when I was born until 5 years old. It has been 20 years since I saw their kids. It was so much fun to see everyone and recall things from when I was a kid. Lots of laughs, lots of tears, lots of fun!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Ken enjoy the ride, wishing you favorable winds.

Ken!!!

Glad you made it back safe and sound! I remember what it was like getting off the ship after 14 days at sea! What's it like getting off a bike after a week? :moped: (Okay... You did all the work without a motor, but I couldn't find a smily with a pedal bike :rotfl: )

WELCOME HOME!!!

I'm having a great weekend in Waikiki in Honolulu. After the wedding on the beach last night on the North Shore, it started to rain about 35 minutes after sunset. We were done with the ceremony by then. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL.

Kay, that's great! Glad the wedding was a success, without rain. A little rain after is just for good luck anyway :goodvibes

My neighbors went last year and loved it. We talked about going this year too. Get your tickets as early as possible. I see that there are showings throughout the first weekend in December. Glory of Christmas

And you will love Disneyand at Christmas. It is my favorite time of the year to visit the resort.

I checked on line - PHEW!! The tickets have really gone up since the last time I went. Think I am going to have to catch it Thursday night before we hit Disneyland on Friday. The tickets for Thursday are discounted for $18 vs $40.

Can't wait to watch Heather's face. I do want to confirm before I start making ressies - we are talking the 1st weekend in December as in 12/2-4. Correct?

Back from Food and Wine - One word can sum it up WET! We arrived just before noon to some light showers - it had just downpoured and we thought we were lucky. My DH's goal for the day was to have a beer in England at noon - At about 12:05 he had his Stella at the Beers of the World area and we were on to Canada for cheddar cheese soup. Short line - not too bad - get our soup and a light drizzle starts and then the sky's opened. I was crammed under an umbrella and couldn't reach my Mickey poncho - by then it was too late - we were soaked. Soup was excellent though! The rain died down a little and we moved on to Greece for some moussaka (lamb and eggplant casserole) and spanikopita (spinach pie). They were both great. After Greece the next few booths were still closed as the rain was blowing into the booths - I went to pick up my temporary Disney Dining Card at guest services and decided that spending the afternoon completely soaked was not a good idea. Go back to the room at Boardwalk - change and go to EPSN to watch the Red Sox. Again not a good ending for me anyway. Red Sox lose - Back to the room for a little siesta and we will hit Food and Wine at night. I have never been to the Food and Wine at night. It is a little dfficult as the signs are not well lit. Anyway - it is very crowded and hard to read the signs. We by-passed France and a few others and ended up in the US for some crab cakes and lobster corn chowder. They were good but the chedder cheese soup in Canada was better. Headed toward Germany and had some weinkraut (sausage and sauerraut) and some Oktoberfest beer and were on the way to Italy when again downpour! I didn't have the ponchos with me so we ducked into the store in Italy for a while. The rain slowed down some but by then I had a major headache and we headed home. The beauty of living in Florida - we are going back to Food and Wine in early November. I have the brochure that lists all of the free seminars - if anyone is heading to Food and Wine later and wants to plan ahead feel free to PM me and I will send you the events for while you are there. Forgot to add - rained on Sunday morning as we were leaving too!

I'd love to go to the Wine and Food event again, but it's not in the cards this year.

I got an e-mail from Amy (Alikat) last night with the celebration list. If anyone is interested in keeping track of the celebrations, let me know and I'll forward you the list. Also, I would assume that we need someone to do nametags and door magnets, if anyone is interested.

Newsletter problems update: I have determined that the problem with IE is with the fonts I used. IE takes fonts from your machine to display the newsletter whereas Netscape, Mozilla, etc. use the fonts that I used to design the newsletter. I will try to figure this out for the next issue, including probably making changes to the fonts I used to more mainstream fonts. For now, tonight I plan to make a PDF of the newsletter and upload it. It will be in the same location as the other file with the same name, substituting the .htm with .pdf. I'll post when it is ready. Sorry for all the trouble!

Yes, the first weekend in December. I was hoping for a Candlelight Processional Dinner Package like they have offered the last few years. No information has been made available yet.
