Pardon me - but what exactly IS a count-down chain? I mean - we have what ... 27 days to go? And what more can be done than count the days... or possibly hours? I cannot see how any faster cout-doan would be entertaining or retasked into an entertaining diversion? Please forgive my ignorance - as I am a virtual newbie with this being only our 2nd sailing on DCL in the company of DIS folk. :confused3

Peter, can you post a picture for CC?

Oh my heck..............

so I left the office Friday night and we were on page 737. Come back today and you are on page 802. I had 65 pages of posts, approximately 975 to read.

Guess I need to quit doing anything productive and just read these boards!

Two hours. But I'm caught up!

Linda

Tracy-love all the pictures of your backyard.

That's what we were working on all weekend. Except it is our front yard. We spent the weekend putting in a pond and just about got our waterfall built .

No pictures yet, it is still a work in progress!

Are you going to use the pond for ice skating in the winter?

My friend will go out of her way to find a McDonalds and get a coke. She swears by them too.

my only response to this is - our local grocery store had 5 12 refrig. packs for $10.00 and I bought so many, have to store them outside on the porch. I think I must hve gotten 50 12 packs. I'll not run out for a while. But that was such a good price on them. So I guess that goes to say

COKE PLEASE !!

How long will you be in Hawaii

I'm planning on going back over in January or February - haven't narrowed it down to the week yet. Went last October and stayed at the Hale Koa and absolutely loved it.

Can't wait to get back.

So... we're on Oahu for 2 weeks. Got about 5 or 6 days to go til we jet back saturday. We always stay a while to get around. My spouse used to come out for 1-3 months every other summer when growing up - so our trips are hurried by comparison. I think the stays are just about "right" for duration... but our kids may come out to stay with uncles and aunties alone when they're older so my spouse and I can finally get a "break"! Woo hoo... Imagine that, they're only 2 and 5 and I'm thinking this way. It's an odd consideration - and one that is not enirely accurate as this possibility is in the very distant future when they are staunchly responsible teens. :confused3 Is there such a thing? ;)

Yup...

The Hale Koa is a nice place to relax - no doubt about it. Unfortunately (or fortunately) for us we tend to spend a LOT of time with family out here. And NOOO.... I rarely come into town and NOT tell anyone. I also have business interests here too - so I mix a little biz with the visit so I can expense a portion of the trip and fan the flames of revenue ( :thumbsup2 ).

@ Left - Resort at Ko Olina //// @ Right - Kahala Mandarin Oriental

At any rate, have you ever considered staying at the resort at Ko-Olina? Or how about the Kalaha Mandarin Oriental? Kahala is sort of an old money bastion in a minor way - and the Ko Olina digs appear to cost a bit more then the other places on average so - as such represents one of the new money elite haunts on Oahu. I've been fortunate in having stayed at both resorts on business at no cost to me. And have you gone outer island yet???

The Lodge at Koele

But OF COURSE you must have gone by now! But have you hit Lanai yet? They have exactly 3 places to stay while there. The Lodge at Koele, the Four Seasons Manele Bay Resort (where Bill Gates got married), and the one star B&B ... the Hotel Lani. I've stayed at the Manele Bay a couple times and the Hotel Lanai once. Quite a difference if you ask me.

As for the other islands - we have yet to visit Molokai and Kuai. Hard to imagine that after all these years we've not been to Kuai, the garden Island. But after the hurricane we deliberately put it off a few years to let it recover before we went. Huh... that was what ...???... over a decade ago? Yup... so I guess it might be TIME ... except with the growing kids we tend to make ALL our time out here ... "family time". oh well... sigh. :confused3

I am also a Pepsi drinker and will be stopping at the grocery after arriving in Florida and would be happy to pick some up for you - just tell me how much and we can even up on the ship.

Thank you....what a nice offer! I guess we'll be making a grocery/liquor stop for our wine and champagne, so I may as well buy my Pepsi then. But thanks!!

I've voted for PEPSI many, many times, but always seem to get out-voted! ;)

Don't kno if I'm bright enuf on DCL or DIS trivia w/o googlin' it. Is there a paypal option to buy answers off other DIS folk? LOL!

Seriously, I would be game for it. However, I wouldn't want to play alone as I am a bit of a social animal...

So, what's everyone having for dinner. I think I will grill some pork chops and asparagus for Bob and I.

We're (rather "I") am thinking of getting take out from Gina's Korean BBQ... but I think my BIL has a load of stuff to run run a BBQ tonight. SO we sort of expect my FIL to come up and hang out too. THE BBQ is the usual Hawaiian fare... teriyaki everything and tropical drinks, sushi/sashimi and fruity drinks. Not that I'm complaining... but I'm still waiting around for LUNCH... in 15 minutes! The girls went to work out at a kick boxing session early this morning and apparently they took an extra couple of hours for an impromptu shopping session - seein' as they're not back yet and have a "sitter" for the day. Nice of them to not call or update me... oh well... I guess I'lll raid their fridge and whip up something for the kids too while I'm at it. I think for lunch ... pasta sounds nice and filling!

The East-Coasters may be able to answer this more definitively this afternoon, but my interpretation of the Google Earth pics are:

For sure DOCKS = St. Kitts, St. Thomas (large ships visible at docks) and, of course, Castaway Cay
Probable Docks = Antigua and Barbados (no Ships there, but appears deep enough)
UNKNOWN = St. Lucia (obscured by clouds)

Don't know if anyone answered this further.. but when we were on Xmas Cruise 04 We docked at both Antigua and St. Lucia. Of course it always depends how many ships will be in port and who gets there first or who pays the most I guess. I believe Disney will get dockage whenever they possibly can.
