Looks like I missed Ladies Night! I had to work late tonight and for some reason construction was brutal! Is anyone still on here? I just got caught up with all the posts!

LetsGoSteelers-We are headed to NorCal now. Should be there around Sunday night. We work for Usxpress Enterprises hauling mainly airfreight. FedX type loads.

Captain Crash-We are REALLY trying to pay our humble abode off fast as possible. It just makes no sense to give all that interest $$$ to "the man" if you know what I mean. Plus I read an article about independant wealth and it said the first step to financial freedom is a clear deed on your home/property. I find this to be true. And yes, I'm 25, and no, not in dog years. Kevin is 41. We have his 2 kids from a previous marriage dd19, ds16. Are you trying to tell me I'm wise beyond my years?

I wuz lurkin' in ambush... HEY!... it wuz the Dark Side of the Force that possessed me.

And on a completely different note - as I'm about to step out to depressurize for an hour or so...

#1) We just noticed United Airlines has dropped it's fares TWICE in about 36 hours. Our $377 LA to MCO flight dropped yesterday to $334 ... so we called and got a credit voucher for the difference! And tonight my spouse just came over to declare that UAL has dropped the fare on our flight to $277! She's geting the 2nd credit coucher for the difference on our tix!

SO.... everyone! Check your carrier for the fares on YOUR flights. Policies will vary - and a party of 4 flying United might save $400 with this tip. Once the low fares sell out you cannot CAPTURE this credit voucher! And... anyone saving any money can paypal me 10% of the savings as a consult fee for my Bubba Mug Fund! LOL!

#2) We had a guarantee ressie for cat 12 and just were assigned an 11. Oh well... not exactly a whoop-d-doo but it saved us an estimated $750 after adjustment for our rebooking discount. IE... the unadjusted savings was $1100 ... but the 10% rebooking was about $350 off this. So - I saw that Scott got catagory 10s for his 12 guarantee ressies! So I figure he saved another $400 or so over what we got. AND... of course, we may get an adjustment again before sailing. I've heard of folks who LOST a higher cabin and were given a lesser cabin and vice versa! SO if you're on a guarantee ressie... check it!

#3) DOn't forget about the meteor shower tonight. And if you missed it - same time tomorrow you'll see it - but the peak was tonight!

#4) And if anyone in your party is a fun luvin' ice cream enthusiast - then please consider the Mickey Bar challenge! We could actually take a few more competitors under the age of 15. We have a fair number above age 15... and can have a few more there too. PM me if you'd like to enter or ask any questions!

#5) As we approach 10,000.... does anyone want to propose any fun ideas for recognition of the Jedi who siezes this 10,000th gem? Any volunteers who might contribute something - or maybe we could just plan on a PHOTO OP at the 1st DIS meet! I would be happy to co-chair the committee that handles this simple bit of nonsense. AND NO... I have no delusions about getting the 10,000th popst... the competition has been fierce and I've missed the last half dozen sprints where I actually TRIED for it! RATS!!!

Ah-ha... so your spouse is approximately like my spouse and I (low 40s). And yeah.... we agree entirely. An old favorite read of ours in this general catagory is the Millionaire Next Door from Stanley and Danko. I buy batches of the book and give them away to some of the folks who work for me - and I encourage them to work and spend smart to short cut the path to financial security. My spouse and I qualify as prodigious accumulators on this books' formula for age and income ratios for current assetts... so yeah .... we're quite frugal and comfortable with it. The book reads nicely to lend significance to novel old fashioned ideas about money..,, and the data presented by these paid researchers is ocassionally thought provoking. A cheap source for this is Ebay... it can be yours' for under 5 bucks as I recall in soft back. This listing is tracking under $5 now...

Target had 2 ltr, 12 packs of cans and 16 oz bottles So I bought one of each small bottle. Tried the Strawberry & Creme and it was good. Bill said it had a Pepsi aftertaste though I guess you can tell we are Coke people.

No color means they are not online or have asked to be invisible when they are online. Sad night for us...Quincy's (dd 5) pet betta "Goldie" moved on to fishy heaven today. DD was very sad and she decorated a pretty bag with stickers and we buried Goldie next to Q's playhouse.

After I read Q some books tonight, we talked about her special times with her fish and she asked me if the mountain lions would dig up Goldie and eat her... I told her, although we have had a mountain lion around the house in the past, he/she would not be interested in Goldie. Oh the minds of little ones!

By the way, Sue...I can relate, our little one is beginning kindergarten a week from Monday. She is so excited!

I sometimes post a (#1) at the bottome of my psts for the day. This counts up as I proceed through the day. This seems to have begun when a couple weeks ago I proposed to the DIS community here that we needed 10 posts a day from 10 DIS enthusiasts to make it to 10,000 by embarkation. And spontaneously we have several DiS enthusiasts begin to post that they were working on achieving their "10 a day". I took this over the top by posting 48 in a day.

Of course... WINOTRACY's method is far simpler and I think somewhat easier... but MY method is in line with what the active DIS enthusiasts have been doing off and on! Take your choice! And remember ... you can edit in the count later if you like. I am always editing my posts to correct typographical or flow errors.

I hope this helps a bit! And - as Vader once quipped ....

Good Morning Kids…..

Sorry about Goldie, Quincy’s thoughts were pretty special.

Got up early wondering where my C-Card was. Eventually found it. Pups fed. Lifted weights and caught up on the board.

Meteors were pretty good last night; we had a few clouds but not too bad at all.

Lynn should be home in a couple of hours so I will have to quietly make noise. Grocery shopping and who knows what else. Time for new running shoes, my feet are feeling it and telling me so. SCUBA class tomorrow, so gotta get gear together.

When Lynn gets up we will have Mickey Waffles as we got a new waffle iron, (on sale at Disneyshopping.com, plus DVC discount) thinking of orange macadamia nut waffles.

Might be late to the concert tonight we have 6:00 diner plans at a local restaurant, we rarely eat out here at home.

Oh, I also finished my Cliff Note version of our Ports o’ Call. Lynn need to proof it for me and then will send to Tracy to see if she wants to put it in the newsletter. Actually it will be available to whoever wants it.

Sounds great Scott! I don't have much for the last newsletter Ok, I probably have a bunch of stuff, just haven't looked at it. My goal this time is to get it done and out Friday, September 1 in the morning. That is my mom's 65th birthday and we are heading up north to take her out to lunch. At 5:00 we are "heading home" only to go over to her surprise birthday party the neighbors are throwing We'll probably spend the night and kayak on Saturday.

Checked our flights and the price is up about $275, there is one itinerary that is only a couple of dollars cheaper. Would leave JAC at 7:20 PM and arv MCO at 8:25 AM, and they wont let us sleep 5 hours in the Crown Room in SLC.
