I hope nobody minds this....

I have had some PM's requesting that I postthe web link for the upcoming Sear's Tower Go Vertical Challenge. I appreciate everyone who has been kind enough to support my efforts. :goodvibes It is very kind for people who don't know me, to make such an offer. I keep on teasing my family that they are supporting me less than my Dis-family, but they are known procrastenators. :teeth: I ususally do not do events where I have to ask for money, because I dislike doing so.... (Robb & I are known for buying Noah's entire box of fundraising candy bars, so we don't have to ask others to- then throwing them away or taking them to work. :rotfl: )

However, cancer research is very important, especially since it is traditionally underfunded. Unlike many donations, 100% is actually given to the cause, there are no administration fees.

Please do not feel any pressure to donate, I understand we all have a cruise coming up and lots of excursions. However, if you feel moved to support the cause and me, here is the link: Thank you

Here is what I will be climibing:

I always give my dad big kudos for teaching my brothers and sisters when we were learning to drive, to respect 18 wheelers, their drivers by flashing our lights to acknowledge they were a safe distance ahead to change lanes.

Used to do this all the time in Massachusetts, but when I moved here to Illinois and took written test to get my license- I learned it was illegial. :guilty: Must have changed from when you lived here. I think they do it so you can't flash your light warning someone of a police man and tell them you were doing for a truck? :confused3

I had hypothyroidism and was on synthroid, then was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer, and have had my thyroid removed and have been dealing with hypothyroidism (underactive) for 6 years now. I'm an expert! :) Let me know if you have questions.

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Busy, busy , busy. Anyway, here is a pic of my family on the day of my promotion. (May 06) The kids look less than thrilled, but they are both looking at the camera with their eyes open...LOL And it's the only one of all 4 of us that I could find right now. Enjoy :) :yay:

Thank you!! I am an E-6 (Technical Sergeant) and I am active duty Air Force. I am in personal security and have been in for 9 years. The stripes were "tacked" on me...(w/tape) that is why they look funny in the picture. (they are sewn on nicely now).

He won't be joining us this trip - he is staying home with his mom. He was just such a monster - the final straw was when he ordered 100 hotdogs, ten cups of coffee, and a dozen slices of cake from room service! :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :cake: :cake: :cake: :stitch: :stitch:

Ahhh! How adorable - or as adorable Stitch can get. :lmao: What, leave him at home. You know he'll never go for that - he will probably stow away in your luggage..... :teeth:

Here is hoping the Night Shift is not Late :lmao:

West Coasters.

Good night !! :)

Linda where are you? Or did I ask this before... forgive me...

I'm in a little town called Gibsonton. Basically the Tampa Bay area. We just moved out of Tampa to here last year. They also call this the South Shore area....

We are planning on doing some of the excursions - one in particular is the Island Delight tour on St. Lucia that is about 5 hours and a good deal of riding. For those of you who have been on any of the Island excursions, could you give me some insight as to the type of transportation (bus, car, etc.) that they use and how comfortable or uncomfortable it is. Due to a back problem, I have to be a little cautious. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks and see you all soon. :Pinkbounc

Okay, did I say something in my post that offended anyone?? :guilty: Sorry if I did. It wasn't meant that way!! :sad2: Forgive me....:worship:

I'm back tracking here, so forgive my late answer to this....I'll make this public incase anyone else is confused about my wording & Scott's reply.

Linda I have a second job where I work as a sexual assault nurse examiner. We are a neutral party, so we allowed to testify in court as to what we saw, photographed, collected, & heard. If I was to say something like I thought all so & so's who did certain things were so & so's- then it could be argued in court by an attorney that I am partial vs impartial. (or if someone saw the post) So hence- my impartial comment. That was it....I'm not upset, not at all. I forget that not everyone knows that I have 2 very differnt jobs and that I have to go to court as a witness.

I hope this explains things and that you feel better! Sorry for the misunderstanding!!

Just to add on to this thread.

My DH, Rick and I (Heather) will be joining you all for the 11 night cruise, all the way from the UK.

We look forward to meeting some of you, at one or two of the events.

We can't wait. Less than a month to go...hooray.

Heather

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't really think that you were upset with me. But, I didn't get the impartial context until now!! :teeth:

I know, it's confusing. Typically I try not to use South Shore because everyone starts naming off Southern cities. So, now I typically just stick to - Tampa Bay area... :rotfl2: :lmao:
