It will be a good day though!

I haven't gotten additional birthdays, anniversaries, or other celebrations for the newsletter for some time. I don't want to miss anyone's birthday (I know I missed a couple this month :( ) so let me know!!

 Michael and I are spending the night we arrive back in port (the 28th) at Disney and I need to book a room. Over the years, we have stayed at a few of the on-site properties. We haven't decided which park we will go to, but we figured since we could do all the adult rides together for once (usually we have our 5 year old with us and have to take turns) we would go for a park that had rides we liked.

Anyway, which hotel and park would each of you recommend?

Thanks everyone!

Hi Laurie :wave2:

Joe and I love the location of the Polynesian, on the monorail. It's so nice to walk the grounds at night with the touches lit. You can watch the MK fireworks from the beach at night, as well as the Electric Water Pageant, then walk right back to your room... no crowds! In the mornings we love walking by the water from the Poly over to the Grand Floridian... very quiet and relaxing. Renting the Mouseboats here is also a lot of fun as you have a huge area to explore. We also like getting to the Contemporary, and then from there to Wilderness Lodge for bike riding, or dining at Artist Pointe (dinner), or a walk through the woods to Fort Wilderness Campgrounds for an early breakfast buffet. Then we either walk back or get a boat back to the Contemporary then the monorail to the Poly.

We also love AKL, the walk in pool is wonderful, and a nice leisurely dinner at Jiko is very relaxing.

Our home resort is the Boardwalk. We love the location, as it is within walking distance of 2 parks... Epcot and MGM. When the parks close we can take a stroll home to our rooms. After Illuminations, we always walk opposite the crowds and stroll full circle around the countries enjoying the scenery. Our room is just a wlak away... and no waiting for the bus. The early morning is special here too as you can walk all around the water over to the Yacht + Beach Club. We love breakfast at the Yacht Club Galley... ala carte or a beautiful fresh buffet.

Port Orleans Riverside is also very beautiful. They have carriage rides which are wonderful in the evenings right by the river... up through the mansion area to Port Orleans and back to Riverside.

As for parks, and the adult rides... AK has the new Expedition Everest, MGM has Tower of Terror, and Rock n Roller Coaster. If you stay on property yu could check for an early entry park on that day, get there early, then leave once the park gets crowded and go to another one.

You will have so much fun! :lovestruc

FYI ... Th WalMart version of Crocs are not near as comfortable or soft as the real thing. Last year I got some at Pay-Less that were soft and like the Crocs and they also had slip-in type sandals not the thong type that were great. BUT a word to the wise ... 2 years ago I had the Crocs on the ship top deck and took them off to get on a lounge and they started to blow away cause they are so light! My hubby said "I can't wait to hear you ask the Captain to get your over-board shoe!"

Celeste,

Thanks for the feedback...too bad about the Epcot Food & Wine starting the day we leave. Michael & I would have loved that! You know us so well! Thankfully you and Robb initiated us in the ways of ordering onboard and we will never be the same. When we were in Ireland, we ate in a fancy castle and thought of you and Robb and our fabulous meals onboard the magic.

Just thought I would let everyone know that I will be going in for surgery on May 8th. :sad1: :sad2: Apparently I have a pinched nerve that is affecting my right arm and causing it to hurt all the time. Never having had surgery before I have no idea how long I will be laid up. I have been told anywhere from two to six weeks. For those of you who are new or those of you who aren't and would like one, I am making "Fish Extenders" up ahead. That way if you don't get me PM'd with a request before my surgery I will still be able to get one out to you. :) It would help though if you could get your requests in fairly quick. For those of you who do not know what a "Fish Extender" is Winotracy had a couple of articles in the newsletter. Maybe she could post a picture here of the ones that I am making.
