September 15, 2012 - Fantasy Western

OK, I need to get on the ball here... Before we know if September will be here!! (WOHOO!!!)

Here are the items that I am looking to organize:
  • Fish Exchange. Thinking that a single exchange is fine, unless the group gets too large. I would like to do groups so that it is more manageable. Thoughts? 15 cabins is a good size - or was on the 2010 transatlantic, and if people wanted to do more cabins they were in 2 groups. I am open, and it really depends on how many people want to join the fun. CUT OFF DATE IS JULY 15!
  • Champagne Girls. Bring a pink boa and wear a tiara. Everyone pitches in on Champagne! I will host this event either in our suite (we are sailing concierge) or in another location based on how many people want to attend.
  • Mojito tasting! I claim to be the founder of this, as I requested it on the 2010 WBTA and it was the first of many that DCL has now done. This had a cost of $15 per person last time if I am not mistaken. We will be in a DIS only group. To do this we need 20 people minimum and I think we maxed out at 30. Over that and they divide us into smaller groups.
  • Mixology Class - this was also a DIS only group, $15 per person with a 20 person minimum
Other things that we could do... shirts - we would need a minimum of 100 shirts and the cut off has to be 60 days prior to when they need to get shipped. 100 shirts is a lot! we were 22% of the WBTA and barely had more than that... Cruise glasses - etched or painted glasses with the cruise date, etc. on them (these are about $10 per glass and we can get wine glasses, rocks, champagne, etc. Lanyards - fairly inexpensive and fun as you spot them all over the ship! Wristbands - Glow in the dark wristbands are about 85 cents each when you order 100. These are fun as you can see fellow DIS cruisers from a distance.

FOR THE FE...
PLEASE PM me if you are interested so that I can start building a list!

Let me know what you want to do!!!

I love the Glow in the dark wristbands that we got on the 2010 WBTA. To this date it was not been removed..

Its my reminder of a magical time.

A rainy night in Spain.....

We just booked our Disney cruise today! Is it too late to join the FE? We don't have a cabin # yet, but myself (Jason), DW Cathy, DD Sydney (15), and DS Jordan (12) will be there.

Hey! Welcome to the cruise! Someone here was kind enough to set up a Facebook page, and that is where most of our planning, talking, etc., is going on. Check it out and the administrator can add you! The group is called Disney Fantasy September 15, 2012. I'm not sure if I can post the link to it here or not.

Can't wait to meet you in 65 days!

We haven't told the kids yet. I'm not a huge Facebook user so I don't know the answer to this - since my kids are friends with me on Facebook, won't they see that I've joined the group, or is there a way I can join discreetly?

Awesome! This is a surprise for our son as well. Very exciting!

I'm not sure about whether your kids would see that you've joined a new group or not. I posted the question to our fellow cruisers and hopefully someone will know more than I do. That discussion is extremely active so I'm sure someone will see it soon.

Hi again - I checked with the Facebook group and it seems the consensus is for you to create a new dummy Facebook account so your kids don't see. Would that be a possibility? If not, make sure you leave your information somewhere on the DIS page for the Fish Extender and I'll ask the people coordinating it to make sure they add you to the list. I think they are hoping to close it out and get the final headcount tomorrow. Let me know if you have any questions!!
Have a great weekend,
Karyn

FOR SUE - - Please don't forget the FloridaRogers family above for the FE. They posted this message a few days ago but don't have access to our Facebook page yet because it's a surprise for their kids (and they don't want the kiddo's are friends with the parents on FB). They may not know they need to officially sign up by tomorrow. I'm guessing they still want to participate??

Thanks,
Karyn

Thanks Karyn. Yes we still want to participate. Per your suggestion, I just created a Facebook profile in order to join the group. I'm also PMing Su to make sure we make the list. We have a VGT reservation so I won't have a cabin number until about 10 days before.

Awesome! Glad you're participating. There are a few other events on the FB page that you might want to check out as well once you're on there - - Mixology class and a group outing at one of the excursions.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend,
Karyn

I have changed the group on Facebook.

Only members can see the group, see who is in the group and see what is posted.

Basically the group is invisible to everyone else.

Hope this helps.

Hi there! I just joined this website today! My boyfriend and I will be on this sailing and we are just so excited! This will be our second disney cruise together and my 6th!

We will be sailing this cruise for our daughters 5th b-day. We are so excited to only have 58 days left! I've been counting down since the 200+ days!

Is it too late to be a part of the fish extenders? I see closing was last week but we JUST booked our cruise after finding out the sale of our house fell through! I have twin 7 yr old girls whose toys have been packed in storage for months and we are surprising them with their 1st Disney Cruise! I JUST heard about this and would so love for them to join in! Is there any possible chance we can squeeze 2 more in?

The FE organizer just posted to see if people on the FB page would be agreeable. I don't want to speak for others, but I don't think it would be a problem. Sounds like your addition would round it out to 20 cabins.

Welcome to the group.

My DD Samantha is also 7 and I'm sure she would love to meet your girls once on board.

If you have Facebook, come check out our group. The group on FB is categorized as secret so no one will see you are a part of it (helps with the secret part).

How do you get involved with the facebook page? We are too late for the FE group but would like to view the Facebook page. We are taking our daughter on her 1st cruise for her 5th birthday ;). Would love to meet someone else who is taking a girl about her age.
