Hi! I am going to be in the LA area for my sister's wedding. We are planning to spend one day at Disneyland on September 13. I had read somehwere that this is a no school day for LA schools. Does anyone know how much this affects crowds? I have two sons ages 7 and 9. The two things that are must dos are Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and seeing Chip and Dale. Also, are Lightning McQueen and other Cars characters still available for pics? (Does anyone know the best places to see Chip and Dale and Cars? I know I can ask a cast member when I get there but I like to plan.) Also, does anyone know how easy it is to see those characters? Sorry to ask so many questions.

The Cars are in DCA, so even though your only there for one day, you'll need to get a park hopper pass if you want to see them. They Lightning and Mater are on display for photos.

Chip and Dale are out as often as any charactor, but as with anything in the off season, the amount of charactors availible decreases with the crowds, they have to pay the folks in the costumes, so if they don't have a full park they have to cut down on the number of folks being paid. I would expect them to be around, but would definately check for a schedule at City Hall when you get there so you don't miss them.

It will increase the crowds, but still won't be as busy as a summer peak-season day.
Do you have a Disney Visa card? They offer a meet & greet for card members only. Chip and Dale have always been there when we've gone (about 6 times in the last 8 months). I don't know if it's just us, but we seem to see C&D everywhere and we almost always go on off-peak days. They must be easy characters to cast:laughing:

Master Mason is right, Cars are only in DCA, but their meeting area is really nice. They are across from Soarin'. The CM offers a cloth to each child so they can polish the cars - I've seen some very cute photo-ops with little kids.

We've seen Chip and Dale at the Storyteller's Cafe Breakfast and at Goofy's Kitchen Dinner, so if you're up for a character meal, that might increase your odds.

What holiday is on the 13th? My kids don't start school until the 5th. My oldest has some kind of student day on the 26th but that is it. So it might be a good day crowd wise.

Hi! At mouseplanet.com they have that Los Angeles Unified School District schools closed. Thursday, September 13th. This annual "no school" day usually results in huge crowds at the Disneyland Resort. That is all I know about it. I was curious how huge the huge crowds were going to be.

Thanks everyone for your replies!

Kim
