Don't want to bring everyone down but this is very much on my mind right now and I need to tell someone. (sorry Maz I know you've already heard this)

Some of you may remember the very sad hit and run killing of my best friend's daughter in Feb 2007. Joanne was killed by a woman who wasn't taxed/insured, and then drove away from the scene leaving Jo for dead. Her husband then helped her to set fire to the car to destroy any evidence

Just about 10 weeks ago after much heartache and a lengthy case, the woman was given just 9 months in prison, her husband a few months and a neighbour who also helped them was sentenced. Nothing would ever bring Jo back of course but this was not justice.

Yesterday the courts saw fit to release all three of these wicked people after serving just weeks. It makes a mockery of the British justice system I think, and tells my friend and her poor husband and other children, that Jo's life was worth almost nothing to other people.

I am so angry, and so sad for all the family. I don't want this to turn into a heavy debate but I had to vent somewhere...thanks for listening.

Wow that is Just terrible..

I'm so sorry for your heartache :flower3:

For those that don't like the beach too much get to Serenity Bay early real early and go to the left Joe and I went back there last cruise and it was great there is a pathway back there to the restrooms and the BAR!!! so you can escape really fast whenever you want to for a drink or break from the sand plus I think it is more shady back there than the main section of Serenity Bay. The reason I say get there early because there is only about 15 chairs. The only downside to hiding back there is the water bottom has alot more growth but if you wear water shoes no problem.

Is this before you get to the Castmember beach? I thought that was the only thing on 'the left'? :confused3

.

Yes, there is a fence between the castmember beach and the end of serenity bay we were sitting next to the small fence was great especially when one of those "adult beverages" was calling our names from the bar area!!;) ;)

Had to sneak my way into this conversation... Small world, we go to Bethany beach every year to see My brother and his wife, Bethany.. Umm she was named after the town.. since umm that is where she was conceived.. ;) According to her parents.. Agreed I love that beach too. We love watching the Dolphins that seem to love being there..

We were out in Rehoboth Bay this summer in the boat just having left the Rudder and the dolpins were following a sailboat near us it was so amazing to see we stopped the boat and so did alot of other people and just watched them swimming along back to the inlet and back into the ocean this was the 1st summer that I remember the dolphins coming into the bay. I have seen them for years at the beach but never swimming in the bay before.

I've been off in Versailles trying to sort out a peace agreement.

So how did the talks go?

:lmao: :lmao: That was a PAST life, Mister! I know, sometimes I get my different incarnations confused too. Why, just yesterday I was reminding myself to sharpen my spear.

.

No sharp objects are allowed anymore Jackie... Go get out your inflatable spear...

But it all seemed so real.

I could swear that Lloyd George and I were giggling and teasing Clemenceau about his bed head.

I thought I read BOY George!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :scared: :scared: :scared:

:lmao: :lmao:

THAT REMINDS ME.....I never told you my Teddy Roosevelt story. Well, we'll have to get together on THIS cruise, because I sure can't post it on the DIS!

I have one too but I bet it's not as good as yours... ;)

NICE.....we own land in Delaware.....we go there all the time for our escapes to the ocean. We could do a minimeet if you're up for it. We would come down there and then continue on to Delaware for the weekend. I would love that.

We're in Saylorsburg, just North of Wind Gap and West of Stroudsburg. We're next door to Brodheadsville at Route 33 and 209.

Thanks for checking out the hammock.....you're going next month???? How great for you. Which cruise are you doing?

Weren't you on the WB PC Repo? Your name looks very familiar, but I don't recall running into you on there.
:confused3

HEY IAN...YOU THOUGHT I LIVED OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Angel, not only is this story tragic, but it's so unjust. It's like adding insult to injury. How unfair. My thoughts will be with you and your friend and her family.....hoping you all find comfort and strength.

Stacy and Maureen.....maybe we should plan a bigger minimeet at the Rusty Rudder. I always say, the more the merrier!

The dolphins are the best part.

I seem to see a theme in your family Stacy, you live on the Jersey Shore, you have a brother in Key West and a brother in Bethany Beach. Any other family members? Do they all live near the ocean?

I only noticed because I'm an ocean person and so is DH John. We both grew up on Long Island, NY so we were fish since we were little. That's why we love cruising. We love being at sea and sitting on our verandah. We usually start every morning out there doing coffee from room service.

That is extremely unusual. I guess they just wanted to play with the boats.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

This is really getting to be a small world I also grew up on Long Island:goodvibes

I would never pass up the Rudder we should wait till the spring or summer when we can sit outside and enjoy the bay breeze

Actually... it is the SAME brother... The one who lives in Key West.. Bethany his wife, it's her parents who own 2 beach houses.. The one in Bethany Beach is where we all go each year.. They also have a house in Bethesda Beach Maryland..

As for the Beach thing... We have a house in Florida that isn't near the beach.. Sadly we only have a lake with alligators and no swimming.. :guilty:

That's a beautiful time of the year. My close cousin had her wedding early December and everything was decorated beautifully with white lights everywhere......soooooooo pretty. You will LOVE that she's getting married at that time of the year.

WOW.....what are the chances of that.....I grew up in Suffolk County in Selden and DH John grew up in Nassau County in Bellmore. How about you?

YES, let's wait until it's warm so we can sit outside. That would be perfect.

That's sooooooo funny about how Bethany got her name. Well, it is a beautiful area....;)

I stand corrected. Thanks.....got it.

Alligators?!?

Yup ::yes:: Alligators.. They are in every lake we have in our development and they range from small to almost 6 feet..

Stacy, we're both on at the same time again and it's after 1am.

Everytime we go to FL I look for alligators in the wild and never see any. I guess I'm looking in all the wrong places. But I can't even imagine living with them nearby in the lakes. Do they ever come out near the homes?:scared1:

Nope.. but we have been told that one ate a small dog :sad1:

We were told when we were looking at the lots to choose from about them..

We have a lake in front of our house.. that when they get to 6 feet they get removed by animal control because they can't curb their appetites.. So they come around reguarly and check.. We have a huge lake, Lake Hancock, right in the development, but I haven't been over there yet in person. We drove by it but never got out to go to the edge..

Ohh I should have a pic, be back in a minute..
