September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 3

Not good. After a needle biopsy I got this Dr. to admit that he is quite certain it is cancer. He said it looks a lot like lymphoma. He is hoping that it is lymphoma because it responds well to chemo in a lot of patients. If it isn't lymphoma he said that it will be worse. You know you are in trouble when the Dr. is hoping for a certain type of cancer. Anyway, I know he wasn't supposed to say anything and he is hoping he won't get in trouble. I sure won't tell. I am just grateful to know so we have time to adjust to situation and can listen with clearer heads when the Dr. calls to discuss what is next. We are in for a rough road. I just hope it is treatable and not too late as Harry has been having symptoms for a while now. Poor guy is glad it is him and not me, our kids, or grandkids. He is especially worried sick about the grandkids. As for himself, what bothers him most is the possibility of losing his hair. I must admit that if it were me that I would feel the same way. Silly huh?

I know Harry will be going for many tests to see how far this has progressed and what stage it is. He still says we are going on this cruise. I hope so, but really don't see it working out at this point. I will let everyone know what we find out. We are supposed to get the results of the biopsy next Friday, the day after our 38th wedding anniversary.:sad2:

Hope everyone else is doing well!:goodvibes

Still hoping to see everyone in Sept.

Donna

Oops, almost forgot. Going to see Kid Rock and Lynryd Skynyrd tonight.:woohoo: Some of you might remember that I was really upset to miss the Kid Rock concert when we were on the repo. And Stacy will appreciate this...my son is taking me to the Metallica concert in October. It was my Mother's Day and Birthday gift.:thumbsup2 Yep, grandma has a darkside!

More hugs from us too. We are keeping fingers crossed that you get the best news possible.

In the meantime, enjoy your concerts and have a wonderful anniversary.

Think positive. See you in September.

This was just so nice that I had to post it twice!

PS I only have 8 weeks until leaving. YEAH!

He still says we are going on this cruise. I hope so, but really don't see it working out at this point.

Hugs to you both. I've been down that trail myself.

It dawned on my today that we can't get into our cabins until around 3PM right? I'm going to be schlepping a hatbox around the ship with me until then.

Donna and Harry :grouphug: Adding my prayers and hugs  Enjoy your 38th anniversary  Lots of pixie dust coming your way that you'll be joining us on this cruise pixiedust:

I am SO envious of you seeing Metallica :cool1:

I think you should give folks through the weekend.....::yes::

Wish I could remember what I signed up for! :lmao:

Monica...how's the lanyard team building going? Do I need to strong arm some more members? ;)

Still gotta get those blasted Mickey Ears made. HEY! I'll take them up to Prescott with me and do a craft project! ......or....maybe not......

.

I bought I piece of stiff black felt with silver glitter on it for 99 cents at MICHAEL'S CRAFTS. When I got home I cut out 5 Mickey ears, glued magnets on the back and am all set for that aspect of door decorations. THANKS JACKIE for telling us about this product--I had not seen it before.

I figure that the extra ear is in case one gets "lost, or stolen or strays...." (to paraphrase AA Milne's poem DISOBEDIENCE.)

:)

My lovely niece responded to my FB request so here is my brother and his wife's photo for page 1!

I pray everyone is having an excellent Friday morning!:surfweb:

We got it. Thanks!

And some of us have casually sauntered down and asked the stateroom host if we can stash something and then we will get out of their way and let them finish making the room special. They were fine with it. :rolleyes1

Here's some more prayers coming your way. We'll be thinking positive thoughts for you and your hubby.

It's funny what we'll do to see bands from our youth, makes us feel like we did during their heyday. Enjoy your concerts.

Yeah!!! We only have 8 weeks too! :woohoo::cool1::cheer2:

It's hard to believe that it's finally almost here. I booked this cruise in December 07. That's a long wait. I can't wait to get on that boat again. Usually I cruise every Sept....only a one year wait in between. This time my last cruise was May 08....more than a year. I really can't wait to be onboard.:banana::banana:

My last cruise was 15 nights and it went by so fast. This one is only 7 nights....eek.....it's going to fly by. I wish there was a way that I could slow it down.:cloud9:

Sometimes they're ready a little earlier. You can check before going to our DIS meet at 3:00pm. Hopefully you can get in and put the hatbox away.:thumbsup2

In fact, it is getting so close to the cruise, that I may have to riffle through the closet and start dusting off the accoutrements. I have to also see what clothing fits. I think some of it from the last crusie might be too big.

I know what you mean Deb. We booked this when it first came available. Well actually we had the May Tortola cruise booked first and were waitlisted for a Cat. 2 for this one and here we are.

By the time we reach the cruise it will have been over two years since Jason and I last cruise. Hard to believe our last cruise was the trans-Atlantic. In a way it seems like yesterday and then in a way it really does seem like two years ago. And it will be weird going back to a 7 night, our last two cruises were 14 and 11 nights and next year will be 12.
