Another Little Activity

I am planning to bring my pedometer and do some serious walking on the ship. Anyone interested in a walking club, as much or as little as you like?

For people who don't know me, I am a Weight Watchers meeting leader and I have lost and kept off 90 pounds.

I currently walk an average of about 14,000 steps a day, getting off early and walking the remaining 2.5 miles to work, which I do typically in 35 minutes. I also go out for a 30 minute walk on my lunch hour, and I have about 3/4 mile walk from the commuter train at night to our house.

I do a lot of walking.

I'm planning on maintaining my activity level while I'm on the ship.

As far as fun facts go, 7.5 laps around the ship would be about 5,000 steps (based on my stride) or 2.5 miles.

Again, this would just be a fun activity, as much or as little as you want.

I suppose since I already have Shots Around the Ship: A Stem to Stern Extravaganza, this one could be , Walking on Water: Keeping Healthy on the High Seas.

I suppose in many ways a bar crawl and walking group do go together.

:lmao: Zactly how early you thinking of doing this? I am an early riser.

I'm always interest in a post-dinner STROLL also.

And because I rose so early today (and went to bed so late), I'm off to take a NAP! :woohoo:

What is the REAS, and what does it have to do with booking PALO? We have only been on one Disney cruise, and are still novices when it comes to much of this stuff.:)

You can book earlier at Palo if you have the REAS package - here are the dates:
http://pscalculator.net/pscalc.php

Here is some info (of many) about the REAS. We did it last cruise and did enjoy it, but I don't think we will do it again simply for the $ this cruise.

Ian... you remember how far we got last year walking from bar to bar, don't you??? :rotfl:

Howdy all. Just checking in really quick.

I'm taking oldest dd on a 3 night Carnival cruise to the Bahamas in a few weeks. Dh told me I should go somewhere for a couple days without the kids (still end up taking one, go figure) because he got to be away for so long...

Anyway- has anyone ever done a Carnival cruise? Are they really totally party ships? Will I have to chain her to my wrist? She's a very good girl, but a little naive, I think...

We'll be at Disney pre-cruise arriving Monday, but switching from a CRO room to DVC mid week, so I have two 90+10 schedules to plan.

Julie

Hey everyone. I was wondering if they'll be having wine or martini tasting on our cruise. If so does anyone know when. I'd like to get the little one in the nursery so we can go!! Any other fun things onboard that we should do besides palo. This is our first disney cruise!!

Ran across this post while searching for something. Based on the May trip to Tortola:

Sunday 1PM Stem to Stern wine tastiing
Sunday 2PM Tequila and Margarita
Monday 2:30PM Beer tasting
Monday 4PM Tequila and Margarita
Thursday 2PM Martini
Thursday 4PM Beer
Thursday 5PM Whiskey (this is NEW!)

This times could change, I suppose, but you could use them from booking Flounders, then revise the times after the July/August cruises for more current information.

.

I could have sworn I posted this, but didn't find it.

Those flying home Sat 9/19 on SOUTHWEST AIRLINES:

I'm going to book a van for our party of 4-5 people to MCO with Southern Elegance. If anyone is interested in joining us, please post or PM me. If we get at least 6 people it would be $26 per person. (I prefer to only arrange something for the one stop at SW)

NAN, are you in?

I'd like to book this in a week or so.

Thanks for posting this Jackie....it seems that there will be a Tequila/Margarita tasting the same time that I had planned on doing the Champagne Girls. I hope that we don't run into any conflicts booking a room. I'm going to have to beg Linda/seaulater (I cruised with her on the PC cruise and she has an in with DCL crew members) to help me with this just so that we can lock it in. Thanks for the heads up.

Just talked to DH John about booking the REAS package. He said to go for it. He said it would be worth it just to be able to make all of our ressies early and not have to deal with the fishies. That means that I get to book all my onboard ressies on May 30th. That will be great. I'm going to get right on it.

I wanted to talk to Linda about requesting the same rotation and dining area for the assorted DIS tables on late seating too. I'm pretty sure that's a task she's handled before also.

That's a great idea. We definitely want to be all together if possible.

I remember last year DCL told me to wait until about 30 days out to book a room for the Champagne Girls. Then when speaking with Linda onboard she said that my original booking was not available. She introduced me to Daniel who was the high high head honcho .... don't remember his exact title .... for all food and dining. Linda and Daniel worked it out for the Champagne Girls and we went to Diversions instead of Sessions. I'm glad because I liked Diversions better. So I'll try getting that for us but I see that I'm going to conflict with a DCL tasting. I definitely need Linda's help. I thought I would bug her about one month before sailing. What do you think? When were you going to reach out to her about the seating?

OK....I called DCL and they said that since I'm booked with DU that I have to contact them. They did verify that I am paid in full. That's such a good feeling when DCL tells me that they know I have paid.

I emailed Marla at DU. I'll wait for her response.:rolleyes1

YEAH me and John are getting the REAS package. We did this on our first DCL cruise when we didn't know anything.....Tortola will be our LUCKY 7th DCL cruise. But now the romance package has really changed and it seems to be so much better. I'm looking forward to it. We will be celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary on Sept 29 2009. The romance package will be a treat for our anniversary celebration.

We have a 12:40 flight on Southwest. I'm looking into options for transport right now. We may not be your first choice of travel companions because we'll have a 7 month old, a 3 yr old, and a nearly 5 yr old with us. ;) If you don't find anyone else, keep us in mind though. My kids are almost always very good.

YEAH....as soon as Marla takes my money....I can book all of my cruise ressies in TWO weeks. Wow! I am really really getting excited now. I feel like the cruise just got closer.
