As you can see, I borrowed a couple of the great signature banners to try out for a while. I also like the blue one with the flags and DCL scrollwork on the bottom.

What do they look like in the signature? I'm not good at shrinking them to fit, but I tried. I wish the signature line was bigger.

Good Idea - let's see what we can do! Here is your design, two different stamp border designs -

What do you think?

I really like them, especially the second one, it's what I wanted to do (the stamp), but you made it much better! perfect teamwork! :thumbsup2

I put it in my signature, but I think that the problem is that it's vertical, so it's too big... maybe I'll make it vertical. find another picture not as tall...

Glad you like them - it is a great design and deserves a great background! Teamwork Yay!:thumbsup2 I like the second one too - really makes it "pop"! I haven't tried to put any in my signature yet - maybe try it today. I need to go help a student this afternoon - and can you believe it is almost snowing. (I know you are from Canada - call me a whimp really - my family is from Texas!:rotfl:)

Anyway - I think the stamp looks good in your signature. Hopefully we are still within the limits! LOL!

Addition - I've been fighting to put a couple of designs in my signature and can't make it work at all - right now it chops half the pictures off of both! Argh! This is definitely a work in progress! Anyone know how to upload photos to signatures? Mine says permissions are off and when I put the image in as an image there is just not enough room for it - does that make any sense?

To all-

600+ days to the cruise and this board is this active, amazing. We booked yesterday, Donita and I will be joining you. This will be our 4th Disney cruise, and by the time it happens, at least our 12th cruise, who knows what we will do between now and then. We leave in a few weeks for a 21 night TA on Princess, quite excited.

We have lived in the Atlanta area for a year, prior to this we lived in Orlando for 8+ years. One of the hardest things about living here in Atlanta is not living in the backyard of the mouse. We look forward to the wonderful communication that will come up in the next 22+ months.

Hope all is well-

Welcome! Nice to have a veteran cruisers aboard and I look forward to hearing how your upcoming transatlantic will be!

You said you booked flights through a consolidator - how does that work? Do they do flights within Europe as well or do you mainly save when booking transatlantic flights?

Thanks!

The basic premise behind the consolidator is that they sign a large agreement to purchase x amount of tickets on a particular airline. The discounted fare is substantial, they pass the savings to the end user (us). Generally consolidators stick to international airfare, but some are beginning to offer domestic airfare as well. I have not researched flights within Europe proper.

There are numerous consolidators that you can find on the internet. Care should be taken to find a reputable company, the concern is always there. We booked our travel through the consolidator, within minutes of receipt we were able to log into the airlines reservation system (USAIR) and make seat selections.

A note - Because we purchased one way air, a few extra steps needed to be taken (post 9-11 contingencies I am sure). The difference between what we paid and what the airline was asking (for the same flight) was considerable (I think it was close to a $1500 difference at the time). The consolidator was less expensive that Expedia, and Travelocity as well.

I hope this information will act as a guide for you. We have many months before we have to begin looking for airfare for this cruise.

Hope all is well-

Thank you! This is something to consider. I had not looked into this option before.

Thanks for the heads up. I've also been watching Kayak for one-way fares to Barcelona just to see what the prices might be next year. It's been hovering around $725 the last few weeks for us. That's a little less than I had budgeted, so I hope the fares stay at that level or lower through next year.

Well, today my DW and her Mom and sister will be boarding the Princess Coral (or do they call in the Coral Princess?). Anyway, they're very excited for their 15 night Panama Canal cruise. Princess has a bridge cam that I plan to look at frequently while they're on their trip and save the pictures for them. I also plan to look at the Panama Canal webcams and hopefully will be able to capture some of the High Res Web cam pictures for them.

This morning they eat breakfast with a fellow DISer that we met on our Panama Canal cruise meet thread last year. Many of the DISers, including my DW, from that cruise have stayed in touch via Facebook. I haven't taken the Facebook plunge yet.

Is anyone here planning to take a short trip on the Dream before our TA cruise? Our kids are begging us for a trip.

Just 672 days left for us!

I haven't ruled it out! I checked dream rates for a 3-night in "value" season and the prices are right in-line with what we've paid on the Wonder. We'll see how vacation time and funds run though.

I had my TA cancel our reservation for this cruise for now. If something happens with our 2010 WB TA then we'll look to come back. Have a wonderful cruise!!

Likewise, I hope you have a wonderful TA in 2010 :) Maybe even an inspiring enough cruise to write a trip report for us? :thumbsup2

Hi everyone

We (myself, my wife Hanneke and daughter Arwen 5yrs old) just got of the Magic last Sat and have booked this cruise as our next one. Very excited, even though it is a long way into the future.

Look forward to getting to know everyone.

Cheers
Matthew

Welcome aboard to you and your family (I Love your daughter's name!!) Do you mind if I ask where the "Kiwi" part of your name comes from? Are we getting another NZer aboard? :)

Welcome KiwiMatt! You were on the magic on what cruise?

we got off 4 weeks ago from our first cruise... already 4 weeks!!!

well, only 657 days until our cruise! :P

We did the Western Caribbean cruise 7 - 14 November, which stopped at St Croix.

The going was a bit rough the first two days (in fact I have some great footage of my daughter in the pool first thing on the Sunday morning playing in the waves) but then as we got further south it was calmer. Unfortunately when we returned to Castaway Cay it was still rough and a lot of the water based excusions were cancelled.

We had a magical time anyway and are trying very hard to convince our friends to join us for this one.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend (I nearly made a reference to Thanksgiving, now considering the audience I think that would be a faux pas :=)

Cheers
Matthew
