September 10, 2005 - Western Cruise!

I sure am hoping that my daughter will want to stay for at least a while. Hopefully having her cousin with her will help.

See you there!
It will help having her cousin there. My son's cousin was with him last cruise and that's the only way I managed to get him to stay in the club. However, it was only a 1/2 hour because the cousin wanted to leave. After that, I could never get him to go back by himself. My hope is that this time, it will already be familiar to him, as he remembers and loved the big pirate ship they have there to climb on. Maybe we'll run into you guys there.

I am kind of hoping we can do a cruise meet at Sail Away, and I'd love for our kids to meet. I think it would help for the kids to meet before being left to themselves in the club.

DD was too young for the clubs last time, so I don't know what to expect from her.

That would be great! I asked my son if he'd like to meet other kids that will be going to the kids' club and he's all for it.

Okay, I have a questions. I know that dress is a heated thing around here. So I figured I could ask here without getting to beat up.

On the casual nights, I have a pair of dark designer jeans that I wear to pretty nice places in ATL with a black silk shirt and black heels. Is this a no no? I don't see the difference between a nice restaurant in atlanta but I've also have not been on a cruise in 7 years. And you can't hurt my feelings by saying that you don't think it's a good choice. I have plenty of skirts to wear but i love these jeans and black shirt.

I can't believe it's time to plan out fits. I love it. The only crappy part is I only have two pairs of shorts. I don't usually wear them so I don't have very many.

Well, to tell you the truth, I don't worry about clothes that much. I have a co-worker who has been on 7 Disney cruises and from what she told me, and what I saw when we went in June, it's not a big deal. You'll see just about everything under the sun. With the exception of if they say no shorts. I wore capri pants and a nice t-shirt every night and felt totally comfortable. And my capri's were actually just below the knee, so they were closer to shorts length.

There wasn't a formal night last time, as I was only on a 4-night, but my co-worker tells me you definitely have to dress formal that night, or eat at Topsiders where you don't have to. That's what we will do because I don't want to waste packing space for dinner clothes. I'd rather have that room in my suitcase to bring back souvineers! :)

Thanks yall! I knew yall would be nicer then the regular board.

We've Xed the tux and DH is wear this suit for formal night. I'm wear a red sprapless dress that goes a little past my knees. I wore it out the other night and my friends that have been on RCCL said it would be fine. I want the tux rental money we would have spent on spa treatments.

The "dinner dress" topic has been talked to death in our house for the last few weeks. Seeing that this is our first cruise, we don't want to feel out of place by under-dressing. On the flip side we've also considered skipping formal night and going to Topsiders instead. That way we wouldn't have to spend more money on buying a suit for my DS8 or renting tuxes for the both of us. But we don't want to skip any of the dining rotation so I think we'll bite the bullet and buy the boy a suit to wear.

If anyone else has been through this and can add their experiences to this dilemma please do.

Thanks.

Oh yeah, one more thing. 38 MORE DAYS PEOPLE! :hyper:

Do NOT skip formal night!!!! Your son doesn't need a suit. Does he have a nice button down shirt and maybe a tie???? And kahki pants will do the trick!

At first, I agreed with Woj and was going to skip formal night. My 3 year old son and I were going to just eat at Topsiders. But now I found a dress and am reconsidering. And now that the fall clothes are out in stores, I'm sure I can find something for him to wear. Being only 3, I don't think what he wears will matter too much, like you suggested, fltink, kahki pants and button down shirt sounds good. :)

Hello all,

Just booked today cat 9 guar and we have our fingers crossed as well. This will be our 6th cruise although first to the west. We are very excited. My 3 year old daughter keeps running in my office and yelling "click on Disney Cruise" She is really good at one liners. She was mostly real little on our previous cruises, last August we went on the San Juan eastern cruise. On the way to the port my wife had the camcorder on out son who was 3 at the time to get his reaction when he saw the boat. Before he ever saw it, Chloe said "Mickey's Boat" it was awesome, Our son (Thomas) is almost 5 and DD just turned 3.

You all are probably thinking this girl has nothing else to do but count down this cruise, but I am so excited about this, I can't help it, every day when I go to work people ask how many more days.
Everyone have a great day!!

Well, I for one can't say anything about the fact that you are countig down the days, because I, with even less of a life, am counting down the hours! I have 897 til sail away by my watch! :o)
Still no cabin assignment, though.....hopefully documents will start arriving soon! That will be sooooooo exciting! Just think everyone, we aren't that far from being less than a month away!!!!!!!!!

Give me a 3! Give me a 6! What does it mean???? We're sailing away in just 36 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Waaaaaaa-hooooo!!!! I have someone mailing me the most recent Persoal Navigators. They should be here in a few days. I'll be happy to share the info with you once I've got it! And if anyone else has questions about anythig, feel free to ask. I didn't go on 5 Disney Cruises for nothing, ya know? :o) I've gotten some great questions so far!

I know! Can you even handle the suspense????? I can't wait to get onboard! Our plans are all finalized with who's sailing, shore excursions, spa appointments and reservations. Now we just need a big ol' ship, music, the carribbean sea and some rum!
