I am deciding between going the 3rd week in September versus the 3rd week in October. Please provide me your experiences based upon weather, crowds, etc. Can you still swim in October (my kids like 85+ degrees to want to swim) Also what are temps like in the evening.

Thanks for your help

If you go to www.weather.com, plug in orlando, fl and you can look at monthly forecasts--it lists each day of each months, with average daily highs and lows as well as record highs and lows.

As for the crowds, the Unofficial Guide to Disney 2005 (by Bob Sehlinger, I think) has a whole chapter on when to go and charts each week of the year by attendance--so you will know what to expect in terms of crowds.

Good luck planning!

First off it is still warm in Sept. & Oct. We were there at the BWV & WL during the week of Oct. 25th and it was tank top and shorts weather. (I being a floridian do not like the cold much.) The pools were definatly being utilized and I actually got sun burn on my arms from watching my little one swim in the kiddie pool. The crowds were very manageable. Not a very long wait at all for most rides.
Sept. I think is the ideal time to go. Although you will be smack dab in the middle of hurricane season, and I have four words for you...
Charley...Frances...Ivan...Jeanne!
Will, Florida experience four hurricanes again? Who knows, we do not even want to think about it!
You'll have to list the pros and cons then decide.
One thing about Oct. though is the Food and Wine festival at Epcot. (Loved it!)

Lot's of things to consider.
Good Luck!

Jaime

October has started picking up lately with FL schools doing Fall Breaks, and the MNSSHP draws in more people too. I would think September would be WAY LESS crowded. October won't be too bad, but if you're looking for the least crowds possible, go with September.

We live in Florida - and we had no problem swimming in October. It is definitely cooler at night though. Again, September would definitely be more comfortable getting out of the pool all wet though.

We usually go in October. This year we went in Sept and it was great!
No lines, no crowds, (not that Oct is bad compared to other months). Our next trip will be during September (but near the end so we have a shot at MNSSHP during 1st days of Oct).

The weather was a bit warmer, but we just swam more.
My vote is for Sept.
BTW, we were there during Hurricane Jeanne. I'd still go w/September next time.
