I am taking my daughter on a long promised trip to Universal. We will be there from Sept 22 to Sept 26. The 22nd we will arrive to late to do anything, but will be able to sleep and be ready to go before opening on the 23rd. We plan to do the Studio that day, think it is the day before HHN starts. Plan to spend the 24th at IOA and play the 25th by ear. Depending on when our flight leaves the 26th we may have a few hours to play then as well.

This is a budget trip, and I have rooms booked at the Days Inn Universal Front Gate for 28 a nite. I am getting 99 air fare via American and now am searching for low priced tickets. We only need 4 days max, can do 3 days, want park to park for at least one of those days. Is Mapleleaf safe to buy from? The 7 day park to park is cheaper than the 3 or 4 day options, but do you think there will be any ticket deals by Sept?

Any suggestions on our plans would be welcome. I looked at staying onsite, and just can not manage it financially. Any other tips would be great! Thanks!

Anything you do during the day has no bearing whatsoever on Halloween Horror Nights, which is a separate event that happens after the Studios close. Many people have used Mapleleaf without any problems but even they can't predict the future. You will just have to wait and see if any deals come up.

Hi there,

I am actually going to be in the Universal area from the 21 to the 26th of September as well. I am planning on going to IOA on Thursday 23rd ( I picked this day since it will be better to go than Friday, due to the Wizarding world of Harry Potter). On Friday, I will do USF and then stay for HHN. Park will close one hour early on Friday due to HHN.

I bought the 2-park 7-day unlimited pass back in January when they were 99 dollars, now I believe they are 130-60sh bucks.

Check mapleleaf or undercovertourist or even the universal website for tickets, they will probably not go down this year due to the WWOHP.

Let me add this,

You are going on an excellent date frame. Been there the last week of September the last two years, this will be my third consecutive year, and I love it! Empty parks, great weather, etc.. :cool1:

Thank you for the input! I am aware of the fact that WWoHP is an unknown factor, but that the Sept dates I chose would usually be a lower attendance time, so I am hoping it is at least less crowded than it is now. I am also hoping it will be a bit cooler by then as well. In my area right now it is 99 with a heat index of 105-110! Not a big fan of hot hot hot weather.

We are not doing the HHN, while my kid would love it, I can't handle it! I love thrill rides, but not haunted houses. Again, thanks for the help.

I hope so too. Last year it was summer like well into October which made life miserable.
