Hi all! DH surprised me and said we (Me, DH, DD-10, DD-3, DD-1) might be able to swing a trip to Disney in the fall :cool1:

I've always visited in the spring or summer. What do you think is a better time? A long weekend trip the last weekend in September? Or a long weekend the second weekend of November?

If we go at the end of September we would do MNSSHP. If we did the November trip we would do MVMCP.

Any opinions of crowds, weather or either event? I would love to see Disney at Christmas time...but if we go at the end of September, we would get an extra day.

Planning on staying in the cabins. We did that last year and had an awesome time.

Thanks in advance :)

Definitely November. Less chance of a hurricane, less rain, fewer bugs, cooler weather, no love bugs. (love bugs are a florida oddity that are out in May & September and it's horrible...they don't bite but the swarming and the way they splatter/damage the front of cars is incredible)

Thanks for the replies :) Decisions, decisions. That one extra day is really pulling at me. We would probably be still able to swim at the end of September too! The pool is pretty neat at the Fort! Lots to think about and you guys brought up good points...Thanks again!

We have gone in Sept many times (Birthdays) we were at the Fort in Nov of last year and the weather was awesome except for 1 rain storm. You have to decide if you want to do Halloween events or Christmas events ( I LOVE Halloween we were there for our first Halloween at the Fort ......Shuttle launch enough said:rotfl2:) I have to agree though the extra day would do it for me:cool1: and Sept is sooner than Nov:lmao:. You can't go wrong whatever you decide:cloud9: have a great trip.

We love going in November.

1) Weather is usually better
a) cooler
b) less rain
c) still warm enough to swim
d) end of Hurricane season
e) can't remember a single lightning/thunderstorm (just rain)

2) Christmas decorations
a) parks dressed to the "9's"
b) campsites decorated (or in the process)
c) resorts decorated to the "9's"

3) MVMCP (recommend everyone to do this at least once)

4) Crowds seem to be fewer

The only downside to November is park attendance during Florida school holidays (crowds - check the state internet sites for dates) and the Super Soap Weekend (heavy crowds in Disney Studios).

Hope this helps

We've been in November several times ... weather has ranged from 30s to 80s. You just never know!
