Sept/Oct Code watch

I'm all for saving money but am confused as to how this all works? Is there somewhere you go to to find coupons or discount codes?

What % discount do you normally get?
www.mousesavers.com has all the current codes.
FL residents get codes to use...I see you're in FL.
Annual passholders get codes to use and recently they had a general code that anyone could use. Sometimes there are adds for them, but you'll know by watching here and mousesavers.

Recently, they have been a certain amount off of a room rather than a % off.

Just booked for October 6 through 9. Would love to see a code! :sunny:

:hyper: Joining the watch, we are heading to WDW for Fall Break.:drive:

Come on Mickey! Send out the codes! :cheer2:

The week after Columbus Day. I hope the crowds won't be too bad. :worried: Last time we went for Fall Break it was during Columbus Day Week and it was SO hot and SO crowded. :sad2:

Has anyone called in to ask about an AP code lately? I could read backwards, but I'm feeling lazy at the moment. ;)

Was told by a Disney rep that we shouldn't expect to see anything until end of August - which is right on target with past AP rates/codes.

Joining the code watch :goodvibes

We have a chance of being able to go the "world" for the 3rd time this year :cool1:

Dates are 10/12 - return either 14/15.

Planning on the MNSSHP on 10/12

Thanks DizGal, that's kinda what I figured too.

Minnie, this will be our 3rd trip in 9 months!

:rotfl2: This is standard for Colombus Day weekend and week. Expect it again unless there are weather issues. We have been going to WDW in October 10 years in a row now and Colombus Day weekend is the one time we avoid. In addition to Halloween night, MNSSHP also sell out on the Friday of that weekend (just a reminder if anyone plans to do MNSSHP, as it WILL sell out). We stay as far away as we can from that holiday. We are arriving late Saturday the 14th and know it will be crowded still as folks are leaving.

On another note: I don't want to be gloom and doom here, but have folks been watching what's going on in regard to A/S Movies? The main pool is closed through December. So what are folks doing? They are moving their reservations to POP Century. This is not good. Once the word is out, Pop is going to be fuller than usually and we know what Disney does when a resort is full.....no discounts. Anyone who is planning to stay at Pop might want to book their room at rack rate and be prepared to pay that rate. Remember, if there is no availability, then there is no discount. Disney will NOT apply a discount to your room rate if there are no discount room rates available. However, on a good note, I'm sure there will be availability at A/S Movies! For the folks going Colombus day weekend....yikes....this just changed everything.

I called last night and the CM told me there was nothing out past 9/30/06....bummer!

Would this be the 9-13 or the following week?

My kids get out of school on Friday, September 29 and the first day back is Monday, October 16.

so, yes... the week of October 9-13. LOL

Fall Breaks will typically run from late September through mid-to-late October. We've gone to WDW the first week of October every year since 1998 (with the exception of 2001, when my youngest was born) and we've watched the crowds steadily increase. Last year, with free dining, Jewish holidays, Fall Break, Columbus Day.... it was busier than we've seen in October. We've had to move our trip to Columbus Day week this year, which doesn't thrill me, but we'll make the best of it :)

Ouch! :confused3

We were there in July and were looking forward to low crowds for our October trip. Planned dates 10/12-10/14 attending MNSSHP on 10/12.

Is this a bad idea considering Columbus Day is on the 9th???

We could possibly go 10/26-10/29 instead with MNSSHP on 10/26.

Thanks!

Well maybe if they are not offering free dining during that October period this year, the crowds won't be as bad.
If they don't offer any discounts at all then maybe the crowds will be really thin.

The last day to check-in for the dining plan is September 30. Not exactly sure what the longest length of stay for that package is... 9 or 10 nights? SO there will be people there taking advantage of that special through the first week.

The reality is, October isn't as quiet as it used to be. Period. Is it as busy as the holidays (Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, July 4th)? No. But it is busier than some of the guidebooks claim. And crowds are all relative. What I consider crowded another person might consider a ghost town. LOL!

I'm really hoping for discounts between 10/29-11/4

Quick question, I have 3 ressies set up for this trip, as I am splitting between 3 resorts (was splitting between two and then added a day at a mod because flights worked out cheaper if I stayed an extra day!) Will I be able to use my AP on all 3 ressies?

I am hoping for AP rates on the deluxes. The mod I got a AAA rate on so I don't mind that so much. I'm still going no matter what, but some of the discounts I've gotten off before on deluxes were nice. :thumbsup2
