I stand corrected!!! BPO is NOT an AP discount! I also spoke with a CM this morning and he told me that BPN is a general public code and so is BPO. The only reason for the difference in the codes is to track where you found it. Whether it was "on line" or not. He also told me that I should keep checking back for AP codes that is was getting close...... whatever that means............... SO, I guess we just have to keep checking and checking and checking...... Sorry for the confusion my original post may have caused!

The BPO code is what is listed if you book this general public discount online. It is now available online to book through the disney website.

I guess if we do see AP rates, the difference will be minor. I think this is the first time I've ever seen public codes come out before AP and Fl codes. But this has been a strange year for AP codes.

I was one that was slapped too, but at least there were no other codes at the time either.

I hope everyone waiting for AP rates at least booked this deal just in case.

What is the big deal if general codes are out and AP ones aren't or won't? AP holders can still book using a general code. I am an AP holder but booked using the new general code. I'm certainly not waiting for an AP rate to come out only to be left without any discount. Usually the codes are about the same anyway. Two years ago, the general code was actually about $10 better then the AP rate! LOL!

I donlt think Disney views AP rates as loyalty bonuses anymore. IMO they view AP holders as hardcore Disney fans who will be mor elikely to pay higher prices then casual holidaymakers. Therefore it wouldn't suprisde me to see them offer more and more deals to cuasual holidaymakers and only offer AP discounts as a last resort.

I've just called Disney again and been advised that BPO is not an annual passholder discount rate but is a special offer open to everyone. !!! I presumed the CM was getting cinfused with the BPN code from yesterday but they maintiend that BPO wasn't an exclusive annual passholder discount. Has anyone else been told the same. IS there any difference between the discounts offered with the BPN and BPO codes??? for the first time i'm finding phoning Disney very stressful!!!!

I'm afraid I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to Discount Codes - can anyone please tell me what BPN & BPO stand for?

Unfortunately because of many that only buy one pass for a room discount it has ruined it for those that are truly loyal to WDW. We go at least 30 days a year. We buy the pass for what is is supposed to be for. Park admission. There are just too many out there that buy it for the elusive room discount and that has Disney rethinking the AP codes. I think AP discounts are either going away for good one day or there would be a requirement that all in the room have APs in order to get the discount. I'd go for that one myself.

I have to go back to what the big wigs said to me in the park...it's been a slow summer. They can use rack rates to make more money too. I saw many convention groups while I was there. They fill rooms, but I'm sure they don't spend money there like the normal vacation family.

All I know is that there was a teacher's conference at AKL when I was there. I need to find out how to get in on that action That would be AWESOME!! I've never been that lucky. Chicago and Omaha is the best I've ever done

I would agree. You cannot have more than one discount. So, you'd have to run the numbers. Value and Mods from what I have seen do better with the free food.

i am keeping the free dining @ 35.00 pp x 2= 70.00 per day the room dicount would save me only around 45.00 per day- and on top of the free dining i am getting the AAA discount on my room already.

They probably do stand for something (to disney) but to us, it is just the code symbols used for the discount that is out now for end aug> thru sept. . When you call for that time period you ask for the discount BPO etc... . mky

I'll try! I don't think the 3 letter codes, per se, mean anything that we need to be concerned with. I'm sure they have an "internal" meaning and like previous posters have said, one code is for online bookings/the other for calls to CRO.

The importance is that, should you call CRO and just ask for a room, you will likely be quoted "rack" rate. When you call and give them the current code, you will get the discounted rate, if available.

There are 2 foolproof ways to keep current on any codes available (and any restrictions/requirements): These boards and mousesavers.com.

Oh well. Just called. No BPN rated rooms available (water view or standard) at AKL. They did have Savannah rooms for $215 a night. Had to pass since that would push over my budget.

Still hoping for some AP rates to come out.

Wow, they must have had very few rooms available at that code. Although I'm sorry for you, I'm so glad I knew and was able to call at 9:30-10:00 yesterday morning. I got a water view at AKL for $160. She also had Savannah view and delux Savannah view. I'm so grateful I could save $74 ($70+tax).

Different dates can make a huge difference. I have found that at AKL the standard and pool views go fast even with the AAA discount. They can fill those rooms easity without a discount.

I had an ap code for 8/26 at BC,std room only before we start our pkg. It was $256. This Gen code is $262. I decided to book at the GC for 6$ higher and not renew my Ap. I start my pkg with free dining the next day. I am going to now purchase regular tickets. My husband will be glad with no AP's. We will not feel as much pressure to get back to disney. We will proabably still do once a year at wdw but will now try other vacation spots. After all the ap is for ticket admission. But the codes are what made us want to make the multiple trips. Without the codes we proably won't.

I just got it. I saved another $5 per night off the Poly. That now makes it $240 plus tax for a GV.
