Where did you see this and where did you book?

We will be there for the first one! Very excited!!!

Has everyone booked their flights yet for Sept/Oct? Or are you still searching for a deal? What did everyone pay?????

I decided to bite the bullet, and I booked last Wednesday, as I had read that Qantas was increasing the fuel surcharge (again!)

I paid $1780 return to LAX from Melbourne (they hit me with a $30 fee for paying with my credit card).

I am spitting chips I did not book when the flights were at $1400, but I was being greedy and thought that they would drop further!

I also didn't get on the flight home I wanted - for $500 I will go via Sydney!

Lucky the $ is so good, hopefully that will make up for it!

I am deciding between Sep 30th and Oct 2nd. Sep 30th is cheaper, it is a Friday, so apparently busier with the locals, but it is also the opening day of the Food & Wine festival, which may reduce crowds. I have early ADR's inside MK for both days.

Does anyone know what happens if it rains? I believe there is no refund. Undecided if we should purchase them now or wait until we get there.

MouseFan Down Under, well done on booking your flights. I paid a little more than I wanted as well, and we have to go via Auckland.

kylieh I was just over in the photography board. Did you end up buying a new camera? I ordered a 7d today :cool1:, upgrading from my 450d. I wish I could convince DH that I need an ultra wide angle lens!

My understanding is that the party goes ahead - even if it rains. The only thing that may not happen is the headless horseman before the parade.

I would go with whatever date suits you best.

We will be going to the first one on 13 September, and as I will be with someone that has never been to a MNSSHP before, if they really love it and want to do it again, we can on the Friday night (16th).

Thanks MouseFan! I think we will do the Friday. Apparently that weekend is the Magic Kingdoms 40th birthday, and there is a half-marathon on the Sunday.

Hmmmm, I always had the MNSSHP on Friday 7 October on our plan because that is our last night at WDW and I figured it's nice to finish on a high. Also, with no Rope Drops the next day, we could afford to stay out late. However, I keep reading that Friday nights are busier with locals and also that Friday is the beginning of the Columbus Day weekend. Now I see that 7 October has a * next to it so that must mean that Disney also expects it to be busy. Darn it because I don't want to go to a really busy MNSSHP  I just can't work out how busy is busy - does anyone know? I can't work out how many tickets they actually sell to the party. If it's sold out, does it mean it's like a busy summer day at MK?

Not sure on how busy it will be, but re shipping, it's US$25 to Australia, or you can do will call and pick them up when you get there. You'll get an order confirmation you need to take with you (that's what we selected.) But if you want to get some Disney Gift Cards you can at the same time and get them sent for the same postage.

Thanks for posting the MNSSHP dates - I have had plans for us to go on Tuesday 27th September and it's great to see that date is confirmed!! :yay:

If it's really fabulous we will also probably do Sunday 2nd October too. It's our last night in WDW and I have an ADR for dinner at Crystal Palace, so to stay on late for another party would be terrific - besides I would hate to eat and then walk out of the restaurant and get ushered out of the Magic Kingdom because we don't have tickets to stay for party!

We are going on the same night! We are at WDW from the 10th to the 16th so I am really happy that we managed to be there for one of the parties.

I received an email as Ticket Order Confirmation - pick up at any WDW Park while on site..... saves loosing them in the post and paying a shipping fee.....

WOW HelloSue, that is fantastic news for you !!! Again shows the value of booking with an agent rather than Disney direct. :cool1:

Great saving. I ran the figures for us, we were on Free Dining for our room so no difference, and for SIL's room, there is only 1A and 1C, they are on the 30% room discount, came in about US$3 cheaper. I figured I'd save myself the phone call for that one :lmao: The phone call would probably cost more (and I work for a telco!)

We got Will Call on our Halloween tickets too. Save the postage. I did think about buying some Disney $$ Gift Cards at the same time and having it sent but I decided just to buy some cash here.

Why doesn't Universal Orlando have similar deals as Disney?

Does anyone know of best place to buy tickets/acc? Should I leave it up to my Disney Agent?

Any thoughts welcome.

My magic for less agent was not as good with universal as he was with Disney. We are there fir 2 nights in Septmeber and I KNOW that we should buy an annual pass and the deal for the room and tickets would be better. He can't get his head around the process and in the end I gave up because it would involve canceling our existing reservation and rebooking and it all got too hard. Your agent might be better but have them check the annual pass impact before booking. Happy to help if you have questions as I researched it pretty thoroughly.

We are staying at Hard Rock hotel for 4 nights, in October. I am waiting for annual passholder rates to come out, to see if I am better off with an AP. I have to keep checking the Loews site. In the meantime I have bought 4 x 4day tix for the rest of my family through Undercover Tourist, Postage was free and real tickets were sent to me and arrived after 10 days (with Easter in the middle)

There is a 15% discount for buying multi day tix with an AP but you have to buy them at the gate. With tax the price works out about the same as buying them through Undercover Tourist, and I want to get things out of the way as much as possible. :)
