Sept-Dec Room Discounts ~ Information Here

How can this already be up to 23 pages!?! :scared1: We are a either a very dedicated or a very scary group of people. :rotfl2:

If you have a package, a room only discount won't work for you.

As smitch425 said, a room discount can be used on a package. The discount will apply to the room portion only, but you can still have a package and use a room discount :).

So if I am figuring right a room discount on a 1 bedroom at bay lake towers would be better than free dining for 3 adults and 1 child?

Especially with a larger discount off an expensive rack rate, the room discount can be a better deal than "free dining".

Don't forget, the real question isn't "what would it cost to purchase the dining plan separately"? It's "how much would we really spend on food if we didn't have the dining plan"? Then you can decide if the dining plan is a good value, and if you'd save money with it vs. a room only discount.

I've been doing some math and RO can actually saves me more than FD depending on where I end up, $275-$400 depending on resort and room type :woohoo:.

Even though I'm a little disappointed to miss out on POFQ all the moderates look so nice I'm excited for any of them, POR (Plan A), Cor (Plan B), or CB (Plan C), can't wait til Thursday!

I did that calculation a few weeks ago after I found out my week wasn't getting FD and figured I'd spend about $50 less by paying OOP than the cost of the dining plan, even more if I don't get deserts. I'm spending a lot more than free but the RO discount looks like it'll be comparable or better than FD for me.

Word from high above...

Free dining is on for Thursday.

Though further details weren't pressed for, I see nothing to the contrary that room discounts will drop as well.

Since AOA will most likely be excluded from FD what are your thoughts about a RO discount for AOA family suites?
Thanks again for your dedication to feeding our obsession!

I've been waiting for RO discounts for fall 2013 *forever* :rotfl2: ... even though I know they come out about now. We were prepared to do a split stay if there were no RO discounts, but hoped for a $30 deluxe discount to stay at CL for the first time at BWI or YC...have stayed at the BC before though not CL and the monorail resort CLs were out of our range (given that monorail resorts are expected to be 20% off vs 30% this fall).

However, I just got a GVCL room at the Poly for five nights in Oct. for approx. $2400 via Orbitz. That is a few hundred above what we thought the BWI or YC CL might cost with a fall RO discount, but waaaaay less than we thought the same CL room at Poly would cost.

In short, I just booked on Orbitz. If I get a much better rate at a Epcot resort, I might change my booking. For some reason, BWI CL beckons to me...

I can cancel without fees on Orbitz, so we'll see.

Called this morning just for kicks. Lol. Very sweet CM told me no for today but call back in the morning. :-)

At this point, I'm pretty sure I'm just going with my FD pin for Nov 30-Dec 7, because staying at a value...I just don't see the RO discount comparing to the savings of the FD.

However, we had to book at ASMu because Pop's pin rooms were booked...so hoping that a RO discount will sway some of the folks away from Pop so I can have their room.

Getting my hopes up calling every day to hear that there have still been no cancellations.

Not to derail the thread, but anyone want to guess at what my chances are of catching a cancellation on a FD pin room? Haha. I'm guessing it won't happen till closer to 45 days, but I'm still trying.

So has anyone been able to get the RO discount with their Visa card?
