Sept-Dec Room Discounts ~ Information Here

Yes, lesson learned! They all claim to be "Disney experts", but anyone who reads these boards regularly knows more than most of them. To be fair, I'm sure there are some excellent ones - I had a great one several years ago, but she left. :sad2: I may very well cancel and do it myself at this point. Thanks for the feedback - I appreciate it.

I've had my daughter at the emergency room all morning (all is fine) but, have no idea what the frenzy is. Can someone fill me in or provide a link. Thanks so much!!!!

ETA-from what I'm reading, it seems as though it's the same old frenzy. LOL-

Okay...after checking with multiple TA friends, they say that it has changed (at least since I have done a room discount a few years ago) and that you have to check in on a covered date to be eligible for a room discount. It will still only apply to the dates covered in the deal, though, not the whole trip. This will only affect the people traveling around the timeframe of Thanksgiving, though, so most of you should be okay.

So do we think it's for real that POR will be excluded? If so....it may give me an excuse to upgrade resort!:rolleyes1:idea:

So I'm assuming that the night of November 23rd is excluded from the discount? That's the Saturday before T-day.

Is this true? I don't understand why they just can't apply the discount to each night individually. It would be such a hassle to check out and then back in.

Does anyone know whether a RO discount can typically be applied to the Deluxe Room in the CR-Garden Wing? I am concerned because from what I have read, there are only three of this room type.

Thanks.

I had the Deluxe GW room booked with FD once but when the RO discounts came out no availability as you said there are only 3 of that catagory so I switched to the Tower TPV the next day I noticed the Deluxe room was available so I guess it is possible that if you change room type the Deluxe room could be put into the promo inventory. I ended up changeing anyway as that was the year Villas were 35% off vs 30% at CR

I booked with AAA for over 10 yrs and my TA was always very nice but never up to speed on disney discounts etc.... This yr I switched to a disney specific travel agency and its been a dream! She did tell me that they may of postponed the offer for Monday to find certain travel agency leaks but I don't know with the Internet how you could pin point them.

Now that is an interesting statement your TA made. :surfweb:

I find it hard to believe that POR will be excluded from both RO and FD. The resort is just too big and they are always giving this one a pretty good discount each year to try and fill the rooms. I understand POFQ since it has NO problem at all booking without any discounts... I will be VERY surprised if it is true. Unless they are really pushing to get CSR and CBR booked or something but I still think it may be a mistake.

I'm kicking myself now for missing my PIN code dates. We decided at last minute last week and missed our pin cut off by one day.

Fingers crossed (hell, toes too!) for RO discount - but I'm not holding my breath for my resort. Booked at Beach Club - which is showing NIL availability of any room type for my dates (1st December - 11th December). And I can't change as we are travelling with others on points....going either way but the discount would be great! Toying with moving to Yacht Club if they have availability as this will leave us close enough to the others we are travelling with.

Where are you getting this info about POR. Many sites are saying fd is available for the pin code dates and there not even sure of the ro discount that it might be category specific

Chip and Co posted on their site that little mermaid AoA rooms and POR would be excluded from room only discounts. Only those two. Seems off for POR, especially since its rumored by the same site that POR IS included in FD. Doesn't make sense..... Guess we'll see!

I'm sorry, I thought the the previous poster stated that fd was excluded for POR. I'm thinking that there may be a certain room category that would be excluded from the ro discount but not the entire resort.

Ooh, I've got my fingers crossed for certain categories, thanks for that light of hope!! :)

I'm confused! Is POR excluded for RO or was that a rumor proved wrong?? Crossing fingers it's been proven wrong or there goes plan B!

Yes, you will have to check out and check back in again. To get the discount, your first night has to be the discounted rate.

Meaning if you are there Oct 1-15, and the RO discount is only for Oct 1-10, you will get a discount for 1-10 and pay rack rate for 11-15.

But if your dates are Sept 25-Oct 10, you will need a rack rate reservation for Sept 25-Oct 1, check out on Oct 1, re-check in on Oct 1 and get the RO discount for Oct 1-10.

The CM's will try their best to get you the same room, but there is no guarantee.

Thank you for this information. It definitely clarifies things for me. I am traveling around Thanksgiving, so that's why I needed to know. It won't be ideal to have to check out and check back in, but I'll do it if it will save me some money.

Don't be surprised if and when the RO discounts come out that the 35% off is on the Vilas. The last time 35% was offered in 2011(?) the Villas were 35% and regular rooms at 30%. I am waiting for the discount to be released currently booked at Poly but might be tempted to change if the numbers are right.

Your week at BC might be hard to come by unless you upgrade your room catagory as I believe that is the week of the Gartnier Symposium plus being F&W making Std and GV scarce.

30% off the room rate is FINE with me!!! Heck, even 20% off would be welcome. I need some sort of discount. Obviously the higher, the better, but I'll take whatever's offered without complaint!

If I have to upgrade my room, that's ok too. If I can get away with keeping the room I have, great. If not, oh well.

I'm anxiously awaiting news!
