All I can tell is that Disney is in contact w/us.
I can say that Jessi is in the cast and non weight bearing until 11/8. The pain meds had some nasty side effects, but she is on ibuprofen only, now. She is trying to catch up on all the schoowork that she fell behind while on the stronger meds for 2 weeks......The has been a huge setback as far as her autism symptoms. Symptoms we haven't seen in YEARS have resurfaced since the accident, and it has made life a real adventure at my house. We never know if we will wake up to 12 year old, 8 year old, or 4 year old Jessi. Yesterday was 3-4 year old Jessi, complete with temper tantrums and screaming. Her 13 year old brother wants to know if 14 is old enough to join the military, as he would get more sleep in the barracks during basic than in our house when his autistic sister is tantruming......ah well.
She wanted to know if "this means we won't go to Disney anymore." A fate my kids can hardly wrap their teenaged brains around, since we have had at least one Disney trip a year (a few years more than one) since my oldest was born! She also asked if we were going to sue Mickey Mouse. The answer to that is that I really don't want this to get that far. I am not a litigious person (I've NEVER sued anyone/anything), I am actually relatively peace lovin and fearful of most types of confrontation.
HOWEVER, this involves my child, and a sense of right and wrong. I will do what needs to be done. Other than that, I can't speak to where things are except to say that Disney is talking to us. I assume, from all my previous experiences with Disney, that they will do the right thing and that lawyers and court will not become necessary.
