Sept 7-9 or 8-10?

Hi all! So before the Magic Keys announcement, I purchased OBB tix for Sept 9th and booked Westin Anaheim for September 8th and 9th, with the plan of doing DL on the 8th, DCA and OBB on the 9th, and park hoppers on Friday the 10th. However, we are interested in getting the Imagine Key, which is blocked out on Fridays. I'm wondering if it's worth adding a night at the Westin for September 7th and doing park hoppers on the 7th, 8th and 9th with our Imagine Key (if that's even possible?) and heading home Friday morning the 10th. OR are those weekdays in September guaranteed to be busier than Friday the 10th because of no blockouts, in which case I should stick to my original plan and maybe forgo the pass? The other consideration is that we have a number of dining reservations, and provided all restaurants are included in the discount with the Imagine tier, we could save some $$ there too.

Just wondering which dates/ticket type you guys would choose? :) Thanks in advance!!

You can also just go on your original days and then upgrade the ticket to an Imagine Key on the 10th after entering the park so you can go on the blockout day and still get the Key. The new terms and conditions make it seem like a monthly payment plan won't be available if you upgrade a ticket though.

Yeah, I was considering that but at this point since I'm still debating whether or not to go for COVID safety reasons, I'm more interested in lower crowds! Do you have any instinct on whether the Sept weekdays will still be less crowded than a Friday, even with the lower tier key being blacked out on Fridays?

Friday is always the busiest weekday. Wednesdays are the slowest weekdays. But since the Magic Key passes will have just dropped a couple of weeks before, who knows...

With OBB, it's possible that the weekend will be less crowded at DCA but I think that it'll be significantly more crowded at Disneyland side. Not only is it the first weekend of Halloween that Enchant Keys aren't blocked out but the initial announcements for Halloween Screams said that fireworks will only be on the weekends. I don't think Imagine Key blockouts will have much of an effect since many more people will be going for the higher tier keys and flooding the parks that weekend. But on August 26, we'll see the effect of Keys on reservation availability so we'll have better numbers by then.

Ok thanks, this is helpful! Sounds like my best bet crowds-wise is to forgo Friday the 10th and plan to be in the parks Tuesday, Weds, and Thurs for OBB.
