There are NOT going to be any hurricanes!!! :worried: We are going to have awesome weather!!!!

Of course there aren't - because we have a plan together. :) Murphy's law - if you don't plan for it then it will happen. If you do - then it won't.

We actually enjoy a road trip now and then. We drove down for Member Homecoming. We'll fly down for our June trip and also fly out to Disneyland in December.

What do you think? If we have bad weather, would an airline allow you to fly in to say, Atlanta, where you then might be able to drive down? Going three days early would insure that I would be on the ship, but I might lose my time at WDW. I wasn't planning on getting trip insurance this go round. Are you guys getting trip insurance?

Bill,

Sounds like you are on the mend.

Trying to keep up on all that is going on is a full time job :)

Will hit this site much more faithfully after the May Cruise.

Ditto for me too! But, I'll try to keep lurking as time allows!

Awesome? I don't know. But, it's something we can live with. We're flying Spirit out of O'Hare, direct flight there and back. 4 round trip tickets $786.80. That's $178 each plus taxes & fees.

I continue to watch the Spirit website because I know from experience if the flights go down in price, Spirit will give us a voucher for a future flight. Oh darn, that would mean booking another trip. ;) :rotfl: Wouldn't want that savings to go to waste.

Of course we are! But once we are on the cruise I could take an extended vacation, cruise down to say....Galveston, meet the Magic, get new entertainment on board, get more food, and have an extended 7 or 10 day vacation all on Disney! Oh, and I forget, a discount voucher for a future cruise. Did I miss anything?

HAPPY PRESIDENTS DAY TO ALL

Hope you don't have to work and enjoy the day and rest, rest, rest

Bill,

Based on the experience of last September it all depends on where the airlines have their planes. There were a lot of cancellations. Yes some people were able to drive part way and fly part way. One of reasons we decided to make the drive from the start.

As for trip insurance. We never get it for just a land based DVC vacation, but I wouldn't think of cruising without it. Especially during that time of year.

I am really hoping and praying that we have wonderful weather. That being said I'm not taking chances.

We buy trip insurance for cruises but we haven't for our land trips. We leave in less than a week for our cruise - one of the guys going with us slipped last week on some ice, had knee surgery on Friday and is in a full leg cast for 6 weeks. He never planned on that happening - good thing he purchased the insurance - they are already in the process of refunding his and his wives money. September is just a double whammy with it being hurricane season. Since we have elderly parents and 4 kids - if anything life threatening happened to them and we needed to cancel it's nice to know we are covered.

hey 3dan (Bill) - I am a very early morning person. My best time of the day. Will be glad to have breakfast with you. Look forward to it.

I called today re: insurance for the cruise. the total was $135.00 (2 people) which included medical insurance for me for the four days. What is everyone else paying - did you go thru Disney or private???? :confused3

I am really irked over the McDonalds thing. It is the one near my house. I have been eating at MdDonlads for years and this really gets to me. I hope the health department does something. This is the fourth time for someone I know(including me). D'that ever happen to you?

Not following the thread too well, but I'm taking it you got food poisoning from McDogfoods? I got it from there about 18 months ago. Trying to be health conscious I ordered a fruit and yogurt parfait while the rest of the family ordered burgers and fries. I DID lose a lot of weight, but it was all from the vomiting. Should have ordered the quarter pounder!

Hi Ohiominnie, Yes, McDogfoods. Had a double quarter pounder, no cheese no pickle, large fry , large coke. Twelve hours later, you know what. 4AM. I just can't make myself even think of going there again. And i've been a Mcdonalds fan since childhood. My brother lives in Wadsworth outside of Akron, are you far away. Angela, DW, is "coasternut" in honor of CEDAR POINT. Have you been there? Love Millenium force and Top Thrill Dragster, WOO HOO!!!!!!!!
I hope to hear from the health department, but have never done this before(even though I' m a doctor).
Bill

Kay, We just purchased insurance for the 14 day cruise. We added it on. We booked through Dreams. I'm not sure of the cost right now. I'll take a look tomorrow and PM you. Adding it on won't be a problem. :flower:

Hey Bill... hope you're back to normal from your bout withthe food poisoning!

Georgie, I think I am but my stomach is a little queesy tonight. Angela made Olive Garden alfredo sauce with a duplicate recipe. Really great, but wow, the fat. One whole stick of butter not to mention the real cream and cheese melted. I think my gall bladder is having seizures. :rotfl:

Yup. Sounds like food poisoning! Thing with mine is I had that yogurt parfait and then we went to the parade of homes. It was up and down streets and staircases and I hardly had the energy to do it. Then I started to get nauseated so I ate a bunch thinking it was just me being over hungry. Oops. Well, at least I didn't dry heave too much! :rotfl2:

Nope, not really near Wadsworth. We got our dog in Canton--does that count? ;) I'm near Columbus. What kinda doc are you? dh is a pediatrician.

btw, 3dan....is the dog in your avitar yours?

My ds wanted a beagle more than anything else. Kinda sorry now we didn't get one. :) Instead we got Crazy Maggie...a flat coated retriever.

Posting before I go to bed (as so very tired tonight) to see if my sponsor logo is in my post. Guess it is delayed due to Presidents Day. Looking forward to seeing it.
Goodnite All.............:faint:

Angela DW and I are both internal medicine. The avatar is not our dog but the closest to ours . We have a two year old basset named Sparky. Yes, he is one of the family . I.U. peds asked me to consider joining with them when I was doing peds in med school , I think because of my sense of humor. Can't believe I'm still up. Must have SAD, sleep anxiety disorder.

Good Morning Cruisers - George Washington's B/day today. JFYI -
Somehow my computer signed me out and low and behold I forgot my password - I keep computer on 24/7 and could not find my sheet w/information on it.
Finally racked my computer brain chips and figured it out. Don't let it happen to you.
But I am good to go now.... :cheer2:
Have a good day
