amy, why do some people feel they are safer staying? I don't get that. :confused3
Well, we considered staying for Charley. A lot of the thought is that you can at least be there to deal with the water, etc. It's not that you think you are safe, it's that you think that you can help save your house. But, ultimately, when we thought that it was coming for us, we decided it was best to leave.

Just remember your home can be replaced. As hard as that would be, it can be.

Gosh, I hope it doesn't come up your way.

I hope it stays away all together. :wizard:

Oh no! Not the crazy cruise lady. I won't post my feelings about her.

No more hurricane talk!! I am not listening ... lalala :)

Hi everyone

got here and there was about 10 pages to read. There is alot of activity on the streets here as everyone is trying to put gas and get hurricane supplies. School has been cancelled til Monday. I still have to work though so tomorrow I go to work don't know what time I will be home. I will probably have about 50 pages to read when this is all over. To top it off today is the anniversary of Hurricane Andrew. Go figure.

I'm just trying to decide whether an early morning phone call or an email is better? :worried: Any opinions? I'm kind of thinking the phone call is a bit more personal?

Don't know what you decided, but I went with the e-mail, and put my phone # in there in case she had any questions or wanted to talk about it. Most schools require the teachers to have the request from the parents in writing. That way if there are issues later on, they have the letter/note on file.

Just got home from work. Upcoming Vacation = Long Hrs at Work(but it is worth it) :flower: I see everyone has been chatty, as I have 18 pages to catch up on. I'll answer these & start reading(maybe I'll be done before midnight) :rotfl2:

Do you have any pets? We had a cat - Trixie - who died suddenly 3 wks ago. Also have a nephew dog - Jack - who is very cute & spoiled. He is a Bichon. :dog2:

What was the last book you read? Currently reading - Dance With Me by Luanne Rice. Just finished reading - Flirting With Pete by Barbara Delinsky. Love to read fiction - romance/mystery - nothing too serious.

Do you like to cook? Yes, when I have the time. DH does a lot of cooking, since he is retired & home all day.

Are you good at cooking/swimming/etc? I'm OK at cooking most anything. I love the water & am a good swimmer!! :Pinkbounc

Have you ever met a famous person? No, not yet!!

What are your hobbies? Scrapbooking, Reading & Shopping

What countries have you visited? No other countries - just the U.S.

Are you a 'morning' or 'night' person? Morning.

Which do you prefer, sunrises or sunsets? Sunrises.

How many times did you move as a child? Once, when my mom married my stepdad(who later adopted me)

Are you a task oriented person or a people oriented person? Definitely task oriented.

What a bummer! We just received a call from MS telling us that our waitlist for the Members Cruise came through this afternoon. We just arrived home from WDW two days ago, so we weren't able to make a ressie for this cruise. If MS had only called a week earlier!

Have Fun all of you Fellow DVC Members!!!

Wow! So close! Hope you had a good trip to WDW though!

Because you haven't been around lately!! :rotfl2:

Gary's going to call in the morning. I figured since I took care of notifying Walker's school, he could at least take care of Cameron's school. Like there was ever a problem with Walker's school --- heck, his teachers on a trip to Hilton Head that same week. :teeth:

:wave2: Hi!!!

I spent my entire day running errands, and then we had a huge rainstorm. On the way to pick up Sam from his Book of the Month (school club) meeting my driver's windshield wiper broke... not the best of times. All in all, the day went well though. I finished shopping for Sam's birthday, and I got my things for the scrapping exchange!

Now to catch up on posts before morning... haven't we talked about this? You're not supposed to post if I can't chat all day!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

BTW - I checked my PMs this morning... I'll get to 'em eventually ;)
