I didn't miss too much. I made dinner last night while Gary took the kids to the pool. The came home, we ate and I don't know what happened to me. I was out like a light. Somehow I ended up in bed sometime during the night. I don't remember a thing. :confused3 I have to say, I feel well rested. :goodvibes

See all the talk about Amy & "Someone else" taking a nap yesterday, made you realize that you should have had one! :rotfl:

I love to watch both of these. I'm the one standing there with my mouth hanging open in amazement. Just how do they do that? :confused3
I know, one time Chris and I sat there for like an hour just watching them. Of course, that was before kids, because after about 2 minutes, Emily would be saying, come on, lets go ride Peter Pan.

My idea of relaxing on the cruise is... Having a few hours to myself without my 3 kids! Hopefull at the pool or on my (very first verandah.) The last time my DD was 5 and never wanted to leave the club. I hope that it is true for her and the other two this year.

Today's fluffy question of the day.......

sitting out on my verandah with a good book. Nothing more relaxing to me.

I do love to people watch as well and deck 4 is great for that. Get in one of those teak lounge chairs with the cushions and you watch not only the sea go by but your fellow cruisers as well

I love the demonstrations as well. I've been to the ice carving one a number of times. If they offer a tour of the ship on this cruise take it! We did one on the last Member cruise and the gentleman giving the tour was one of the Imagineers. It was awesome! The details you find out about are very cool.

This cruise I am trying out those chairs on Deck 4. While you all are taking your walk around Deck 4, I'll be the one in the chairs snoring!

Your right, Gail. No doubt. But the thought of leaving Walker is charge of the rest of the crew is much too scary.

Skies are darkening really fast here now. :umbrella:

Ok, I have to take dd to soccer training for 3 hours - you guys keep the chatting down so I don't have so much to catch up on when I get back.

No more smilies - Diana must be at it again!

We're hoping our kids enjoy the clubs too. Adult time is something Gary & I don't have a lot of. Not to dump our kids off for the entire cruise, but it would be nice to be a couple once in a while. :goodvibes for both of us.

Mark, it's pouring at our house. :umbrella: :umbrella: :umbrella: :umbrella:

I think it was 2 years ago in August that we had about 1" of hail come down one afternoon. That's what started our roof saga -- hail damage, replaced by insurance by a company who did shoddy work, battling with them to fix it. I hope to not go through that again. :scared:

Thanks for the warning Cindy. If you are getting it we should be in about 10-15 minutes. I'm at work already so at least I don't have to drive in it. Now if it will just clear up by 5 pm and if it doesn't do any damage I'll be a happy camper.

I don't mind rain. It's the wind, hail, etc. that I don't care for.

It is nice to be able to read the boards this morning & not have to go to work. I have a 4 day weekend. YEAH :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I would have to agree with others that my way of relaxing on the cruise would be with a good book - either on our verandah or a deck 4 chair. I LOVE to read & don't always have as much time to do it as I would like. The same goes with Scrapbooking.

For those of you who are scrapbookers, do you ever watch the scrapbooking shows on QVC?? They have some cool products at good prices. The only down side is that you have to buy a quantity - not just 1 sheet of stickers, 10 different ones might come in a set. This Saturday - Aug 13 - is Craft Day on OVC. They will be having scrapbooking shows throughout the day. That is where my sister & I will be - in front of the TV trying to get caught up on our scrapbooks. :sunny:

I watch QVC for scrapbooking stuff. I got an email this morning from them with the item number to order the TSV early. My MIL and I already scoped out which color that we wanted. I just need to order it.

Amy, I got the same e-mail. My sister & I are ordering it, too. More to add to my growing collection. It is good that I have a scrapbooking room for all of my stuff.

I know, I'm still trying to organize my scrapbook room/office. But, I liked this kit because it's for cards, which is not usually what I do, but I want to. So, I think this will be good for my card-making. And, of course, because I have 2 girls, I'll be ordering the pink one.

For those looking for Cheap pirate gear. You may want to stop at the $10 or less store ( next to pooh corner). They had an eye patch/earring and other pirate stuff.

Cheryl
Might we get a bandana and eye patch at dinner on Pirate Night? Anyone who has been on a recent cruise know the answer?

Hi Everybody! Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I was up to date as of Friday 8/5 at around 11:30PM until I packed up my computer for my 7:00AM flight to MCO on Sat. 8/6. I made it Celebration and have been enjoying everything. You can add me to the list of over book packers...since my parents drove down two weeks ahead of me, I made them lug a whole shopping bag full of books I was "sure" I would read and I haven't cracked one open yet : ( Sad for a librarian, but I was almost 50 pages behind on here. I've been trying to catch up since late Sunday and up until this morning I thought I'd never catch up! Now that I did, I'll try to post a catch-up post soon...have a good day ~ I might be off to MGM, not sure yet.

I was wondering what are DVC points, and how do yu go about getting them.
I appericate any help. We are planning a trip for June 1-11, 2006, and it will
be :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: 11, :earsgirl: 9 :earsgirl: 8, :earsgirl: 5 :earsboy: 2. So we need all the tip saving advice you have. I greatly appericate any help. I love this website.

Walk off that extra dessert on deck 4. If you are a walker or jogger you'll be happy to know you can do so on deck 4. This promende deck goes all the way around. 4 laps equals a mile.

Mary you task master.... :teeth: :goodvibes :rotfl:

First of all DIS business – I wish I could keep up w/ the daily questions, but it’s just too much to even catch up w/ the reading let alone the posting (as you can see by the length of this).

Some I remember…I’m prob. bringing too many pairs of shoes and I’m the oldest of two children (my sis is 21).

Also, I’m so sorry I told you guys about the Coach Outlet (j/k) they’ll be nothing left when I get there!!! The last time I was there, there was only one or two of particular sales bags (these are the ones w/ the “take and additional…off” sign) I got a bag for $98 which is way good for a Coach. Many may find this expensive, but I have everything Coach for my everyday use (purse, wallet, palm pilot case, make-up bags, etc.) so when I can get it much cheaper than at the Coach Store or dept. stores I get excited. Price is a personal preference anyway (see for example the 11-day cruise debate on value, etc.) Anyway, I believe someone mentioned their Louis Vuitton was fake? My DBF recently bought me the real thing - a purse and wallet. He keeps bellyaching that he could’ve bought me a fake because you can’t tell the difference ... so kudos to whoever saved their house from “re-mortgage” by purchasing the knock-off ~ J/K!!!

Can’t wait for electric car info – they’re all over here in Celebration. I’m hoping after Key West, DBF and I can convince my parents that we need to buy one for the condo and keep it in the garage here : )

Now to my trip report:

Well, we (my grandma & sister) got in right on time on Saturday (about 10:30AM). I was actually in tears when I saw my parents (& my pups). Two weeks is the longest I’ve ever been away from them (I didn’t even live away at school). My dad had to go back to NJ on Sunday night & then to Houston mid-week for a business trip so he’ll be back here tomorrow night. I can’t believe this first week flew so fast. My mom and I made and re-made and re-made an itinerary but it’s just not like a regular Disney trip – it’s weird like we’re “home” but nice too the same time, I can't explain it. We have a lot planned for next week though like Typhoon Lagoon and EPCOT since my dad wants to do more of that than my mom. She has pre-cancerous melanoma so she tries not to be in the direct sun for too long [yes, she bought a condo in Fla. :rotfl: ]. Below are some things I’ve done so far other than LOTS of shopping (you think the condo is small until you try to furnish it. You spend a ton, come back unpack it and it still looks bare, but it’s getting there.) Amy, since we’ve had to shop so much I now know exactly what you mean about the Wal-Marts here. Very strange cause the one we have at home is more like the Targets down here – hmmm.

Done So far...
Saturday – Winter Summerland mini-golf
Sunday – HOB Gospel Brunch & shopping at Downtown Disney
Tuesday – Mom's b-day!!! So, Pedicures at Saratoga Springs Resort & lunch at Columbia Restaurant (a Spanish rest. here in Celebration) I recommend it highly!
Wednesday – First nice weather day … so 4 hours by our pool & then LBV Factory stores after dinner … I cleared out Character Corner :earsboy: ! I then cleaned the bathroom me and my sis are sharingat like 11:30PM...I'm a compulsive cleaner...even on vacation as you know from the "Henry" talk!!!

Today, neighbors of ours are in from NJ for the week. The 2 parents have five children ranging in ages from 1 – 8. This is their first time here and they’ve been dying to meet up. My aunt (who’s also here in her new condo here for the 4-weeks) suggested we meet them at MGM – after discussion heat + many children + first timers = DOOM so we’re gonna meet them for lunch at Beaches and Cream (which works out well since my grandma and mom don’t have park tix). As you can see I’m here w/ my family my dad & mom, her mom & sister and my sister (plus our two small dogs). It’s very stressful traveling w/ family especially since we’re all “adults” now and want to all do different things. But, we live together at home too so I guess it’s less stressful than some of you have mentioned. But, it's partly the reason my parents wanted this condo. As an escape! My dad has lived with his mother-in-law his entire married life :scared1: cause my grandpa (mom's dad) died right before my parents got married in 1978. At 49 (Mom as of Tues.) and 50 (Dad this November '05...side bar we bough him a shirt that says "50 The happiest Celebration on Earth" the timing of this shared celebration was long awaited!) they deserve this and I'm so HAPPY for them :Pinkbounc !!!!

However, I do enjoy traveling w/ just my DBF and sometimes w/ his parents & sibs who I all get along w/ very well as does he w/ my family ~ He’ll be down to join us on 8/17…can’t wait!

Sorry for the length, but I had it all up in my head and then in MS Word :bitelip: and was BURSTING to share! Off to get ready for the day ---- ahhhh the relaxed life!
