I have friends going to Disneyland for the first time in October. :yay:
They are committed to going between September 30th and October 8th.
Crowd wise what do you think will be better?

Sunday, September 30th to Saturday, October 6th?

or

Wednesday, October 3rd to Monday, October 8th?

Also, if they choose to go to the Halloween Party, will Tuesday be less busy than Friday or will they both sell out?

Any advice is appreciated!:)

The first days are going to be less crowded simply because you're going for more weekday days.

However, if they go those first dates, they'll only be able to see the fireworks/Fantasmic on the bookends, as they are only shown on weekends. A major annual event for the LGBT community called "Gay Days" is also that weekend, which adds a little to crowds but not significantly. It's also Columbus Day weekend, which a few schools have off...crowds might be a bit higher due to that.

And yes, Tuesday Halloween parties will be slower to sell out, especially early in the month.

I would choose the September dates. The other option includes a long weekend which gets slightly larger crowds.

First party of the year sells out quickly. In the end all parties will probably sell out by party time.

I'm going Oct 3rd through 7th, It should be fun. I have my Haunt Party Tickets for the 5th CM said they are expecting the party should sell out w/ Anaheim Gay Days. Should be interesting!! Can't wait!

I'm not bad, I was drawn this way!
