I know I'm in the minority but I am so glad that the park is open 10a to 8p the last week in Sept...we get to sleep in late and go to bed early and no dragging my 4 year old out for 18 hours. That said, If we get the Halloween pass for the 28th, is the whole park open or just part of it and if so, which part?

ToonTown will not be open during the party. Most other places in Disneyland will be open, with the exception of a few restaurant closures and things like that.

On 9/28, you can use the ticket to enter as early as 4 p.m., and the party starts at 7 p.m.

I agree with you! If the parks stay open late, I never seem to find a way to leave. Even with DD3 - who is perfectly content taking a nap in a stroller - we never seem to be able to pull ourselves away. So I love going in the off season, where CMs will kick me out and get me home in time for bed, and I can sleep until a normal hour and still make rope drop.

As for the party, most things are open, though as mentioned, Toon Town is not. There are a couple of other things that are closed too, mostly out-of-the-way rides or attractions that just aren't super popular. I didn't notice that anything I really wanted to do was down. Have a great time!

The Mark Twain and Sailing Ship Columbia are closed during the party, though they are often closed at night anyway, and I believe Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln is as well. I thought I heard Captain EO was, but this Halloween party map http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/images/disneyland-halloween-map.htm shows it as being open, so maybe not. Looks like Storybook Land Canal Boats and Casey Jr. may have been closed that year (this year they're under refurb a lot of Halloweentime anyway, though I don't know about your dates).

Have a great trip!
