Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

We got assigned today to a back of the ship cat 11 on deck 5. That's better than the deck 2 cat 12 I was thinking we'd get, but we got a steal of a deal on the cruise and are fine with it. :)

(Although it still calls it a cat 12 on my reservation? :confused3 )

Not too much longer, kids! Woo woo!

:dance3:

What is your cabin number?

Okay, well we did it. We switched our ressie from Nick to the Dolphin. I have no complaints for sure! Thanks everyone for your advice, though! When I mentioned to my DD about switching hotels, amazingly, she wasn't upset! I was so worried that she would be upset about switching, and when she saw the pics of the Dolphin, she said "Wow! It's so pretty!" And since the pool has a waterslide, too, she's happy. Plus I explained to her that we could walk the Boardwalk, go to Downtown Disney, play mini golf, take the boat between DHS and Epcot (even though we aren't doing the parks).

It will be nice not having to spend the whole weekend staring at Spongebob!

Our cabin was assigned today as well. We are a category 11 on deck 6 -midship. (Still posted as a cat 12 on our reservation, too.:confused3) Last cruise we were on deck one which was fine, but I am looking forward to being in this location!!:thumbsup2

Pam,
Our cabin is 6585.

5139 here. :thumbsup2

Did I mention that we're also booked for the 14 day transatlantic eastbound? Just booked that last week so it's still kind of new to us, but I couldn't pass up the deal!

We're going to see if they can sweeten the deal on board... or I'm hoping we'll like our room enough that we'll request it for the spring. :flower3:

We're at the Dolphin the night before the cruise, too. Got a great deal on Priceline but sort of annoyed that we have to pay for a Mears shuttle as it's not a Disney Magical Express hotel! Is that true??

We're just steps away from the smaller theatre, which is good. And we're above animator's palate which is only usually loud at night.... but I'm sure we'll end up with 2nd dining anyway.

Anyone doing anything cool in St Maarten? We haven't booked an excursion for then. We've booked a snorkel thing for St Thomas though.

:cool2:

I do not have cabin numbers for the following people. If you are listed and know your cabin number, please let me know and I will update the page 9 roster. Thanks!

Awwww, that's so great that your DD wasn't upset at all. The Dolphin is such a beautiful resort (and you're right that the location can't be beat). You'll love staying there, for sure!! :thumbsup2

Hello Disney Sweetie,

That cat 12 being mentioned is standard. They mention the cat. you booked. The roomnumber will show what you GET, which in your case is a cat 11 stateroom.

Congrats on making the decision! :thumbsup2

We too got our room assignment, Cat 11, room 6647...which is a handicap room. I think we are going to love the extra space with a baby! It looks like it may just have a shower though and no tub :( Guess I have to pack an inflatable one. I love the fact that it is aft too. I always worry about motion being too far forward.

Now the cruise really feel real!!! :lovestruc

Bobbie, as far as I know, none of the hand. access. cat 11 have a tub. If I'm not mistaken, the combination of both tub and shower isn't found until in a cat. 6 accessible stateroom (only one of them though). So definately pack the inflatable one!

I was thinking the regular tub would have been nice with the baby.(Thinking tub vs. shower) In the past we have cruised lines who only have showers....you have to pay for a suite to get a tub. I am thinking the extra space will be much more useful than the tub though! I am sooo excited :thumbsup2

You and the baby will love the extra space. More room to crawl around on and get into trouble. ;)

Just a quick heads up about the shower; drape some towels around on the floor to prevent the water from flooding the whole bathroom. It can be difficult not to flood it if you're not used to such a shower. Especially on sea, I can imagine. :)

Possible bonus might be the showerseat. It's collapsable, so wont be in the way if you don't use it. However, it might be a plus for you to put baby on so you wouldn't have to bent all the way down to the floor instead. But that will be very personal if one finds it a bonus or a drag.

DEFINATELY is a plus when waking up and showering the morning after some major alcohol consumption though. :rotfl2:

Thanks for the tip!

Who me... drink...never! :lmao: I can't wait to try some new drinks this cruise.

I would also be willing to do the cabin thing...can't remember what it is called? If anyone wants to check out the HC room.

Thanks for the tip!

Should have known you do not drink. :rotfl2::lmao:

Cabin tour if I'm not mistaken. If I'm not mistaken, Pam is keeping a list for it. That, or I'm confusing things now because she also started the cabin tour activity on our FB.

Got you beaten hands down on the hc, though. :upsidedow:flower3: We got a cat 6. Don't know if you ever seen pics of it? They've got sickening large verandahs. I just knew there were times when my chair would come in handy. :woohoo::banana:

Cool! Are you doing the tour? can we see your room? I might bring my sleeping bag though!

I wonder what they will move us to if someone who actually needs the cabin books it? I can't wait to take pics to convince my aunt and uncle to cruise with us. He too needs an accessible cabin and worry about the logistics of it.

Are we there yet??? :upsidedow

You can bring your bag, but I'm very good at getting people kicked out. :thumbsup2 Don't know about the tour. There are 2 of us, so Lieske will have to be A-OK with it of course. It's her piece of heaven for 7 days also, after all. :)

I wonder what they will move us to if someone who actually needs the cabin books it?

Policy is that they would. Practice? If you ask me it's about 95% sure they will not. Turns down to the age old repetition of the 'we can not ask the people in that cabin about their medical situation'. A practice DCL isn't alone in, just about any cruiseline does it. Difference is that DCL asks for a medical form to be filled out, which others don't all, so that is a positive.

Having said all that; it is 4 weeks prior to sailing. Those of us needing a HC room all know we need to book WAY in advance. There are so little of them on a ship, you need to book early if you want one. Most will book accordingly. I'm one of those (many) who find it fair policy that these rooms are handed out at this point so close to the cruise.

I can't wait to take pics to convince my aunt and uncle to cruise with us. He too needs an accessible cabin and worry about the logistics of it.

How many pics does he need? :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: How many convincing? He can get it. ;) Seriously though, if there are any specific things he worries about; shoot. Besides this; tell him about the Open Mouse Passporter. It's all about the accessibility of both DCL and WDW.

Are we there yet??? :upsidedow

No. :sad2::sad1: Allthough to be honest, I'm finding it hard to believe that there are only 27 days left before we go. :thumbsup2:scared1:

If you want to show your cabin in the Cabin Tours, just let me know for sure and I can add you. The ones we are touring are listed on page 9. We have a CAT 11 but it is a sideways cabin. The tour is Sept. 27 at 3pm.

Aristocats lover. I have few people on FE list who are not on deck color coded list.

I hate to burst your bubble, but my parents had cabin #6154 two years ago. It's the handicap room across from the one you have. You do feel monement, it's more of a rocking vs. the bounce of being up in the bow.On the first night the movement was so bad my mother who uses a walker and is in a wheelchair had to go to bed, she couldn't walk at all. The rest of the week was fine. The only place you feel less movement is towards the middle of the ship.

HOLY GUACOMOLE!!! :rotfl2:

We've got 71 cabins and counting now???? Pam, you are a "Disney Sweetie" to be keeping up with all of this in the midst of a soon to be wedding! Whew, I for one, owe you a drink on the cruise! :worship:

It seems that either dh(bigferrell) or myself can be onboard at any given time. For both of us to be up to date on DIS at the same time is not happening as of late. I need one of those "updates" that so many of us love! ;)

I actually started making FE gifts last night with the girls crafting group and they were all oohing and ah'ing, so hopefully that is good news for you! I think they are turning out better than planned, and cannot wait to share with you all! :goodvibes

My dsis was her for a good part of the week and we worked on organizing for the upcoming cruise. She's flying into WDW, while we drive up (lucky girl) and she dropped off a bunch of stuff for us to drive down for her!

One month from today I'll be chilling at WDW, enjoying my second evening there! Can't wait!!!!

Have a fantastic rest of the weekend all! Time is a ticking away...
