Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

Fingers crossed you'll have a nice credit for some drinks!

Hey - - it can be used for Disney merchandise too!! :lmao:

Fuel Charge -Hey all, from what I understand, if you booked your cruise and the FC was included, then you will be paying it. If you booked it when the FC was not included, then you will not be paying it. HTH!!

Do you remember how much the surcharge was? I recall it being reported as a couple hundred...but I don't know for sure. At this point, I think I would just prefer the credit be transferred into my stateboard credit account. We booked in February, 2008, so I don't even know if fuel surchages were being assessed at that point. Hopefully, my TA will write back soon and let me know.

Crystal, they were not added yet back then. I booked in March 2008 and didn't pay fuel surcharges either.

And, let's be honest. You really want to make us believe you're skipping the cocktails? ;)

I booked Sept 2008.

At the time there was a fuel surcharge.

But when I paid my final payment recently I paid less than the original quote due to the fact that the fuel surcharge was removed.

My TA took care of it.

FATCAT just booked Country Inn and Suites for pre cruise night stay.

Got the big Captains Suite with kitchenette for $77!!! Woo Hoo.

They now have hot breakfast included in the price.

Anyone else staying there?

Actually they would be really easy to make...and if I put them on neon green heavy duty card stock it would be easy to spot all of us. Maybe if I did one for everyone that could be one of my FE gifts to you all? I would need some type of list with everyones first names on them and cabin number... Let me know what you all think.

That would be an awesome FE gift!!! Just let us know if want us to start bombarding you with PM's. LOL ;)

I think the early pages have the most up to date info.

If we would agree on a corner of the terminal to distribute them and the potentially at the sail away party for late arrivals that may make sense.

The remaining ones can be delivered via Fish.

Chris, That is a great price, especially for that area. Prices usually start from $120 up. You can check the reviews on tripadvisor.com. There is also a thread on cruisecritic.com under the thread name "I work in Cape Canaveral". Check it out. They talk about great restaurants, shopping, rental cars, etc. We will be in Kissimmee for 1st week, prior to cruise. Salamat!

Yeah I have stayed there twice before. This is the first time with the upgraded breakfast though.

I like the place a lot. And there is a gas station next door that sells beer

How do you get a FE? make it or buy it? Hopefully I can find one to buy b/c I'm definitely not crafty at all. I've never done the FE on our last 2 cruises so this is new to me but sounds so much fun. I can't wait to go find little treats to give out.

Daisy, for those of us not crafty there always is good old Ebay. There are multiple on there, although a favorite seller of some posters on here is on a vacation at the moment. ;)

I think I found the most results on searching for 'disney hanging storage', but it was so long ago, I'm not sure anymore.

Oh, and someone that shall remain nameless is responsible for me eating a Kinder egg for the first time in about 15 years or so. That and trying a new - too good for my waist- chocolate mousse filled chocolate. Darned! ;)

crystal- This is what I was able to find.

Disney Implements First Fuel Surcharge
Disney Cruise Line has finally surrendered to skyrocketing fuel costs. The cruise line -- which held out for months while the rest of the industry implemented, and in some cases further increased, fuel surcharges -- announced today it will now levy such supplements on all bookings made on or after May 28, 2008.

Disney's details are as follows: A fuel surcharge of $8 per person, per day, applies to the first and second guests in a stateroom and $3 per person, per day, applies to third, fourth and fifth guests. The surcharge may not exceed $112 per person, per sailing, for the first two passengers, and $42 per person, per sailing, for additional passengers.

The first round of cruise line fuel surcharges poured in toward the end of 2007. As the price of fuel has continued to rise since, many cruise lines have hiked prices even further in recent weeks. Unsurprisingly, a Disney spokeswoman tells us that implementing a surcharge became a necessary step due to market conditions.

I was going to hold out and wait for the DIS person who makes them on ebay come back from vacation, but the planner in me wanted it done ASAP so I could mark it off of my growing list. I used the no sew FE directions on the main board.

I have always gotten mine with my lanyard before getting on the ship. The person that had them set up a little spot on the chairs by the window at the far end of the terminal (by the ears) and we just met them there, told them our name and they gave us our lanyards and name cards. They had the cards alphabetized by DIS name so it made it easy to locate.

It is really nice to see pictures of everyone before the cruise.

Good idea, but it would have one possible major minor to it for Rebecca. It would mean not being able to board when she wants to/is allowed to, but after all our participants have gone to see her in the terminal. Take for instance us, who wont be arriving early since we'll be using the WDW-DCL transfer.

I would think those that happen to 'catch' Rebecca at the terminal; great!! :thumbsup2 But when boarding comes around; 'tough luck' , round 2 onboard and/or in the FE's. Or as I could've said shorter; as Fire says. :rolleyes1:idea::rolleyes::upsidedow

If the one passing them out wants to (or can) arrive early then more people can get theirs. Once it is time to board, then the others will just have to get them later. This is just a suggestion.....:goodvibes I will be on a DCL shuttle but will be on the first one out so I will be at the terminal pretty early.
