Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

Lol, sounds like we got a too good of a deal to start with. :rotfl2: We booked pre-fuel surcharge, so no extra OBC because of that for us.

I'm starting to look into tours and happened to stumble upon a website for a diving school on St. Thomas. And lo and behold, they also do HSA (diving for the handicapped). It's been a long dream of mine to dive, but until now each time I checked schools that do HSA, turned out to basically only do HSA if you had a proverbial disability because of a broken toe. Not going to work. However this school does a lot lot more, and looks like it might just be possible for me to make my first dive. I'm working on it with them, so fingers crossed it'll be possible and I get the clearance. (don't know why I wouldn't, always gotten it for other trips when trying to find an option) And than; diving it is! :yay::yay:

That's awesome news about the scuba!!!

I'd love to do a dolphin encounter myself, but to pay for six of us would be a bit more than I want at this point! So we'll wait for a few years on that one!

Jim and I are going on the Wonder for a three night in less than three weeks! :cool1: I can hardly stand it! lol We got the kids sorted and sqaured away for when we are gone, and NO CELL PHONES!!! :rotfl::rotfl:
I'm Disney withdrawals for sure!!!

KBorn -- good luck with the move. We'll be thinking about you! Hope all works out well! :thumbsup2

Finally enjoying some warmth and sunshine here in Ohio!!! It's about time!!!

Looks like we've all picked a cruise date that's pretty economy-problems-immune. With more than 5 months out, staterooms categories 6 (back again), 7 and 10 are at GTY status at the moment. Obsessed? Me? Who? ;)

Good Morning!

I just got an idea. Since dh and I are hitting the Wonder in a few weeks for some much needed r&r, I thought I would see if anyone out there on our thread would like me to mail your kiddos a "see you real soon" postcard/letter at Castaway Cay???? Consider it an "early" fe gift. lol :rotfl2:

If you aren't keeping it a surprise, and would like us to mail you some warm fuzzies postmarked Castaway Cay, PM me with your address, kids first name(s), age(s), and characters that they like. I haven't figured out "exactly" how I want to do it, but it would be great fun for me!!! :) My kiddos love to get mail, and I'll be sending home something for them, too! :thumbsup2

Every time I go to CC, though, the post office is CLOSED! =( I will prepare them to be dropped off, just in case. There is a mailbox there to do this, right???? :confused3

Speaking of fe gifts, my dsis is soo excited and she has come up with a couple of cute ideas, and I have "officially" started shopping for fe gifts! :thumbsup2 Now to figure out how all of the suitcases are going to fit in the car for the fifteen :scared1: hour trip!! We may have to leave a child or two behind. :rolleyes1

Alrighty, gotta get the kids ready for school so I can play some more! :rotfl2:

Have a magical day!!!! :dance3:

lol, any better rates out there yet??? We booked onboard for these ressies, and I don't think we can do much better at this point! :rotfl:

Just an FYI, KimmySue and I were able to get the MCO Hyatt for the night of the 25th for $79.00 plus fees for a total of $94.89 per room. :cool1::cool1:

Here is a thread that talks about how to know if you have the Hyatt in your sights on Hotwire.

Yea we're going too!!! Switched from a later cruise to this one

Pardon me while I date myself:

This reminds me of the Three's Company episode when Crissy brought home a bird feeder and explained to Jack that she could afford it because she had saved so much on the three or four sacks of bird seed that she got on sale!!

Hey, I just realized that our DCL trip is only 5 months away!!!

Guess it's time to "plug in" to the boards and see who's going, and what's going on.

We're a family of four, with two girls, one almost 14 and one 9 on sail date.

Been on DCL for years (just took a 'fun ship' trip :lmao: hum... just not the same).

Can't wait to sail the "Magic" again!!!:banana::banana:

Since I'm just "getting my feet wet" on this trip, I haven't figured out who's keeping what list yet.

Sent a pm to Arictocrats re the FE list, but haven't caught up with anything else yet.

Wrist bands/lanyards?

Excursion ideas/list?

Kids list?

If someone could help "catch me up" I'd appreciate it. I'm sure I will spend insane hours on the list over the summer, but for now it's hit & run as all the activities wind down for the year.

Ray
Wow - this is an active thread! I hadn't checked it in awhile & had lots of catching up to do!

**Please add us to the fish extender list.
**We are interested in the PJ breakfast.
**We are interested in lanyards/wristbands (2 adult, 2 kids)

I am planning to decorate our door too. This is our 4th DC, but our 1st being on the DISboards.

To Charlotte, who has the most anti-social husband in the world, my DH is exactly the same way. Maybe we can sit them at a table together!

We are in cabin 5020.

Karen, you are so sweet in offering this. My DD (5) loves to get mail and receiving something from "The Mouse" would absolutely make her day. Thanks again for offering this. :goodvibes

Yeah, I have to agree. When we priced and booked this cruise in February, 2008 it was the cheapest cruise of the entire year. Actually, what's sad is that the same cruise in July would have cost about $4,000 more, which is mind boggling. :scared1:

Hey there! Welcome aboard! It will be here before we know it!!! :woohoo:

lol - Threes Company -- wow! a true blast from the past! :rotfl: My kids have learned very quickly around here that you don't ask unless its on "sale". The problem comes when it's on sale and I still won't buy it. :headache: I'm such a mean mom! :rotfl2:

Hey Crystal, not a problem at all. Just pm your dd's name and address and we'll get them dropped off. Two weeks from tomorrow. Woo Hoo :cheer2:party::dancer::jumping2: (okay, so I'm just a wee bit excited):rotfl:

Here's to happy sailing everyone! :sail:

I think I remember that episode! And I love that logic!

:welcome: onboard C10Dad!

The PJ-breakfast is done by Pam, if I'm not mistaken. Besides what you've posted already, there also is a cabin tour being planned and a Secret Mickey. I would be the one you'ld sign up with for for the last one.

Christal; ah frugal reasons for picking this cruise? :rotfl: Glad you did, hun. ;)

Yeah, me too! Although, in my quest for getting the best deal, we are having to pull TB out of school and, one of the teachers at her school that I've become friendly with told me that, for pulling her out of school for 6 days, we will be receiving a note from the principal and, if she misses 4 more days for the remainder of the school year, the school is required to call DFACS. :sad2:

CRAZY, right? I'm not worried about battling DFACS over this issue, but I hate the thought that she's going to be on the "bad" list all year. Oh well, it's only Kingergarten.

DFACS is something like child protection services? And those other 4 days include possible sick days? All I can say is; wow. :scared1: It's not very standard to take your kid out of school for a trip over here either, but most wont make a fuss over missing kindergarten. And even if you get into trouble for taking them a week out for a trip would resulting in a fine would be getting the 'raw deal'.

Yeah, we are *such* bad parents because we want to take her on a cruise - LOL. :sad2: Again, I'm not worried; I think that policy is in place for those parents who just don't make an attempt to send their children to school and just let them lay out of school. I do think, however, that our county is one of the more strict in the area in terms of absenses. If I had known it was that strict, we probably would have opted for another cruise date, but at this point, I'm not changing our plans. :upsidedow
