Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

Hi Karen,

you're definately not too late! Haven't matched anyone up yet, am thinking about doing that about 2 or 3 months prior. You know, give all of us time enough including those planning weddings and all. ;) At the moment those that are signed up, are signed up per group (some have more than one cabin). With there only being 2 groups signed up with no kids, I'll be able to match those with kids to others with kids if desires, so the kids can have fun with it also. If you want to participate; simply sent me a PM. :) To make it a bit easier for your SM, you can include names, ages, likes and dislikes, favorite caractres tec.

Which is also a good time for me check of my list. At the moment it consists of;
DisneySweetie (cabin 7580 and 7582)
Maggie62677 (cabin 7606)
Fire14 (cabin 7120)
Crystal27 (cabin 6634)
Sftnslky (cabin 6620 and 6622)
BananasTwo (cabin 2534)
Goofieslonglostsis and LieskegoesDisney (cabin 6654)

Wow, that was quick!!!;) So these are going to be group exchanges instead of individual exchanges???? Sounds interesting. :thumbsup2 Then will there be a "reveal" meet scheduled?

Karen

Hi Karen,

group sounds ehm.... bigger than it is, I guess. It's more because of a couple having more than one cabin and me not wanting to split them up (unless being asked to by themselves). So using the word cabin could become confusing. Guess it would be the clearest if I would've said travelparty. But hey, it's Easter and my brain is off hunting for eggs. ;) And yes, there will be a "reveal" at the end.

As usual, I just checked the DCL-website to see if perhaps the prices have gone down for our cruise. To my surprise I found out that the cat. 6 staterooms are sold out. Yep, that's right. Sold out! Looks like no lower price for those of us booked in a cat 6. :sad2:

Thats funny..I had read a post on the main board a few days ago about a lady who checked and her cruise had gone down by $260. I also went to Disney Cruise web site and found out they were out of cat 6...they had 5's and 7's, but no 6's. Right then and there I thought "there is zero way our cruise is going to go down...I will never be able to post a 'my cruise went down post'" But I was thinking I wonder if her cruise went down because when she orginally booked they charged her for the fule surcharge?? I know if all goes well we will be getting around that exact amount for an OBC since we paid for the surcharge. :lovestruc

I am getting so excited! We are going to go to WDW for 3 days following the cruise.....yippee!!:cheer2:

Yeah, our onboard credit account should be loaded given the fuel surcharge discount (that is, if fuel stays at this price and doesn't skyrocket this summer).

That's great!! Details, details - - where you staying, etc.??

Yes the fuel surcharge discount pushed our OBC from $800 to just over $1000 for the two cabins. :dance3:

Lol, sounds like we got a too good of a deal to start with. :rotfl2: We booked pre-fuel surcharge, so no extra OBC because of that for us.

I'm starting to look into tours and happened to stumble upon a website for a diving school on St. Thomas. And lo and behold, they also do HSA (diving for the handicapped). It's been a long dream of mine to dive, but until now each time I checked schools that do HSA, turned out to basically only do HSA if you had a proverbial disability because of a broken toe. Not going to work. However this school does a lot lot more, and looks like it might just be possible for me to make my first dive. I'm working on it with them, so fingers crossed it'll be possible and I get the clearance. (don't know why I wouldn't, always gotten it for other trips when trying to find an option) And than; diving it is! :yay::yay:

Wow that is great news on the diving!!

What dive shop are you using? My DH and his friend are planning on diving on St Thomas and some how or another I have ended up in charge of finding a dive shop.

It is Aqua Action. Website is www.aadivers.com They're only a very small amount more expensive than the options I found on St. Maarten (and they don't want me overthere ;) ) They're on the south-west side of St. Thomas. If I look on the map, it's pretty 'close' to where the ferry leaves for St. John.

I'm so, so happy for you, and I'm crossing my fingers like crazy for you that they'll get it booked for you! :yay::banana::cool1::goodvibes

Your fingers are working, Crystal. :goodvibes The dive can be done, no problems for as far as the dive shop goes. Now only my GP will need to sign off. And knowing him, he'll sign off on about anything. He knows I'm crazy and beyond saving so just goes with the flow these days. That's a lot easier. :rotfl:

Thanks for the link. Looks like they have a kids program as well.....might have to give them a call.

Well, just tell your GP that you have a whole lot of DIS buds who will come kick his behind if he doesn't. :rotfl: Aren't we Disney-obsessed women scary??

Somehow don't think it isn't going to work. The poor thing doesn't get the whole Disney-thing. :sad2: But I'll keep it in mind. :lmao: No seriously; if he wont sign off, I'm not going to push him or anything. He's a pretty laid back doc where these things are concerned so if he doesn't think it would be a wise thing to do I'll take his word on it.

For those that have done this itinerary before; in your experience is it doable on St. Thomas to make a 8.30 ferry (also in Charlotte Amalie) or is that cutting it too close? We're also looking into (allthough hopefully I'll be too busy diving  ) going to Dolphin Discoveries on Tortola for a dolphin swim. Through DCL they will not take any wheelchair users, but if we go outside of DCL it is possible to do it. Easiest would probably be to book a package that includes the ferry and the swim, but that ferry would leave Charlotte Amalie at 8.30 am. And we've got NO clue what so ever if that is doable or running a serious risk of missing the ferry.

Congrats on getting to DIVE...it is the most fun you will have with your clothes on!:rotfl2::rotfl2: My wife and I are both advanced divers, it is a different world "under the sea". Did you check out the "SNUBA" dive, I think it is on St. Thomas? It is a tankless dive, you wear a mask and regulator and are attached to a long hose that goes back to the boat. We may have our son dive with us on this one...

BTW: Sorry I have not been on the board, I have been preparing for our move...I lost the lease, but I'm moving to another store 2 blocks away. I'm trying my best to get this building torn down, contacted ADEM about our contaminated well and old gas tanks buried under the parking lot, they have to test the water and then make a decision on whether to dig up the tanks or not. Long story, but this is Alabama! The most backward state in the US...:headache::headache:

Please pray for us while we go through this "transition", it will determine if we get to go on this trip...:sad1::sad1:

So so sorry to hear you lost the lease, Keith. Hopefully you'll settle into the new place quickly and do even better business there. PLease don't say sorry, I'm sure all of us understand you've got a lot more important stuff on your mind. Especially since it's not sure if you can go on the cruise, I can imagine reading this thread might not be the thing you look forward the most at the moment. Fingers crossed you will all be joining us!

And for the rest? Karma, good old karma, let it run it's best and it better be soon! ;)

I know of the SNUBA option. But to be honest? I'm a spoiled brat and want to SCUBA. And fun with clothes on? Who said anything about clothes on or off? I didn't. Who knows, for all you know I'm going on a skinny dip dive. :lmao::idea::eek:

(((HUGS))) - hopefully, everything will work out and your crooked ex-manager will get hit by the karma train.

for all you know I'm going on a skinny dip dive. :lmao::idea::eek:

:worship: - that's my girl!! :rotfl:
