Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

Thats what I was thinking!!! Take a tour of some of the other "smaller" cabins and end up at the Roy Suite with a Cheese Tray waiting for us!!! Mmmmmmmm :rotfl2:

I'll tell the concierge staff you're coming!!! I don't know if they will serve us a cheese tray but we can order room service for something yummy. That sounds like alot of fun.:flower3:

We did cabin tours last month on the 5 night and ended up in the Roy Suite....they had cheese trays. So it shouldnt be a problem...:) We can start a list of people who would like to open up their cabins for a tour. Maybe we could get one of each category so everyone could see what they look like. I am in a Cat 5 so I can put mine on the list.

Ok....guess I just volunteered myself to be in charge of this! Just PM me and let me know if you want to show your cabin. We can do this on a sea day. Date and time to be determined! :)

Thanks for letting me know about the cheese trays. Once we're on board, I will give the concierge the date and time so they can be delivered for us. Party in my room #8530!!!

People, people, relax! Don't blatently use poor Kimberly for own purposes! Do it in a less noticable way. :rolleyes1

Kimberly, welcome to the bunch! The suite, wow. Good for you! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Pam, I could't care less about the 2 breakfasts possibly being on the same day. I can do caractre breakfasts at WDW if I want to. But as you know, I'm having a very hard time getting out of bed anyway, so who knows if I'll end up signing on for the PJ breakfast anyway. Is it an idea to take a 'poll'? People can pick between 2 options; PJ breakfast on a sea day with running the risk of it being on the same day as their caractre breakfast OR PJ breakfast on a portday.

Hmm, come to think of it, isn't it a good option to have the PJ breakfast early on the CC day? No problems for the caractre breakfast, some people assume they will be up early that day anyway ( :rolleyes1 ) and if I remember correctly we can't get of the ship untill a bit 'later' in the morning? Just checked, it 9.30 AM. So this could be an option, I guess?

About the Secret Mickey; I got a couple of questions regarding kids. I've decided (unless most don't like it, then please do tell) to match Secret Mickeys up per stateroom/family, not on individual base. I'll try to match those with kids up with other families with kids as much as possible. This way kids can get involved in the pre-fun if they want to, but don't HAVE to in order to still be able to participate. This way we can also include the littlest ones.

Hi, my family is joining your cruise on Sept 26, 2009. I've read the boards for awhile but haven't added any posts until tonight.

My family has myself (Kimberly), DH (Woody), DD12 (Megan), DD11 (Emily) and DS8 (Hayden). We will also be joined by my step-daughter (Courtney 24yrs) and her friend (Taylor 24yrs). In another cabin is my sister (Stephanie) and her DD10 (Kiara).

A friend of mine and her family has already joined your thread.

So we will have plenty of old and new friends on board this ship. I can't wait to meet all of you.

:welcome: Kimberly and family!!! So glad to have you aboard! I'm not far from some of the 'folks' in your party - we're right down the hall in #7606. We were on the 'Double dip' in late September and I'll try to dig up some photos of our FE for you! BTW - can't wait for the tour!

I have to 'second' this...well, both parts anyway. We are up for whatever when it comes to breakfast - we've done 6 Character Breakfasts and they are all the same...(rush...rush..snap...smile here!..rush...snap) So we are more than willing to take our shot with both being on the same day. I'm also up for a CC day that way everyone can enjoy both!

Now, about that SM 'stuff' I think it's fine to do families w/families and DINKs with DINKs...anyone else have thoughts on this? :confused3

Secret Mouse: I'm cool with what ever but Jodi and I live in 2 differant states and have diff likes. Plus if DH gets in mix I'm sure he'd be so not happy with bunch pink stuff. As for How you line things up Jodi and I are cool with kid or adult receivee.

Juli, that shouldn't be too much of a problem, I think. We can set a budget and within that anyone should be able to find something to fit the people within that family/stateroom. So let's say most want to stick with a budget of $30,-. (or whatever will come out of it, just using a number for arguments sake). The SM for the 3 of you (if DH wants to participate, nothing is a must) can look at the info you've provided me with, see the difference in taste and decide to get 3 gifts for $10,- each.

I mean, I must be on the look out for myself also. ;) It's not like Annelies and I always have the same taste, either. Which friends or family would? :)

DD12 (Megan), DD11 (Emily) and DS8 (Hayden). .

Very cool we will have a lot of kids around the same age on this cruise...even from this thread... Our DD Jennah will have just turned 13 on the cruise, and our other DD Macy will be almost 11 and our twin identical DS's will be 8... There is actually a kids only sept 26th sailing... It is pretty active, maybe your kids could join and start getting to know some of the other kids :thumbsup2 Welcome and glad to have you here :goodvibes

Sounds normal to me, Pam. After all, we're 'old tired' people opposed to those energetic youngsters. ;)

Just getting back to the SM once more. I'ld really like to hear peoples preferences. Matching up based on stateroom/family or one on one basis (with matching the women with women, men with men, kids with kids). I'm just going to keep score and see what the outcome is. Don't want to go ahead and do it whatever way that doesn't fit our group the best.

I prefer stateroom/family - I've done several of these and I have found this is ALWAYS easier. IMHO:confused3

Your kids are mine are almost identical ages. Our last cruise was tough on my almost 11 yr old, Megan, because she didn't know anyone her age. She sat in the cabin too much. I'd love to get her talking with other kids that will be on the cruise in her age group. Emily would love to make new friends but she is a little shy. Maybe meeting Macy might bring her out of her shell sooner. Hayden is hot or cold when it comes to meeting new people but he can have a good time when he wants to.

I really appreciate the warm welcome my family has received since joining this thread. I know this vacation will be amazing with all our old and new friends on board.

Kim

Jaqueline, I'm fine with doing the Secret Mickey either way - - person-to-person or stateroom-to-stateroom. DH won't participate either way, so I don't have to worry about his wants or needs. :rotfl:

Again, one step closer to the cruise. Just booked my pre-cruise stay at AKV and within a week or so will be booking my airfare. It's getting closer one step at a time. :)

Have a great day, everyone.

Good for you Jacqueline!! :thumbsup2

Now when you get finished with all of your plans, I will let you do all mine! Between the cruise and the wedding, I feel like something is gonna get overlooked!!

Talk to you soon!

Thanks but no thanks, Pam. ;) I've got enough coming up to keep me busy enough.

As far as it's possible; do as I do and start (very) early with getting things done. This way, I've still got more than 8 months left to find out I've forgotten something and still have enough time to get things sorted out. Sounds like I'm familiar with forgetting things? Yeah. One incident involves a packing list, me checking things off after putting it in the suitcase and STILL forgetting something on the list. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: So somehow, I am wondering of how much help I really would be.

But than again, I'm a great dress-finder it seems. Just ask Annelies. :woohoo:

Did you order your dress allready, Lieske? :upsidedow Or waiting for the dollar to become less expensive? (for others; untill about 3 months ago, we got €1.58 for one dollar, now it's down to €1.21 :scared1:

I doubt it the dollar will become less expensive anyday soon, seeing as our financial crisis started later as that in the US. :sad2: So I went ahead and ordered mine. Decided to go with the chocolate brown one. Now let's just hope the sizecharts are accurate enough. And that they don't deliver too quickly.

I ordered yesterday morning, 11 am our time so about 5 am Florida time. (ordered it at a US based company) Only 90 minutes later I get an email, stating my delivery has been shipped! :scared1: And sure enough, I was able to find it in the USPS database. :scared1: It normally takes about a week for stuff to get here when I order something within the US, so hopefully this wont get here before I'm back home monday afternoon.

Anyhow, I'm off now for a weekend with the family. Have a great weekend everybody! :goodvibes

I have seen the cheese tray!!! It is huge. There is no possible way even 7 people staying in the Roy suite could eat it.

Last time we had a Dis meet in the promenade lounge at about 3:00p on sailing day. The Gold Card holders were nice enough to carry their cheese trays down to the lounge for us to munch on.

Jacqueline, good for you you've ordered your dress! How many sleepless nights did you have due to choosing the right colour :rotfl: ? I haven't ordered my dress yet but won't wait too long. The dollar won't be any cheaper for us anyway, I'm afraid :sad2:
