Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

I know we have discussed this before...but is anyones DH wearing pants, shirt and tie to Palos? Minus the jacket? My Dsil does not own a jacket and I had told him it would be ok to go without the jacket, now I am second guessing myself. I have pics of men in Palos at brunch without a jacket, but for dinner I am wondering if that is ok. He wears a 2X so it is not like I have an extra laying around for him to wear!!!

Our magnets are also done. Got them done over the weekend. Still do not have my FE decorated.....that is on the list of things to do this week. FE gifts will be finished later this week also. I have started putting things into the suitcases as I think of them and will officially pack this weekend. I have a list going, but if I think of it I just go ahead and put it in the suitcase.

Update......I found this on the website....I think he will be ok.....

Dress Code:
At dinner, a dress shirt or jacket is required to be worn for men and a dress or pantsuit is required to be worn by women. No jeans allowed. At brunch and high tea, attire is cruise casual, meaning no shorts, jeans, swimwear or tank tops.

Pam, had a quick look on the DCL website for our Mickeygroom. It says;

Dress Code:
At dinner, a dress shirt or jacket is required to be worn for men and a dress or pantsuit is required to be worn by women. No jeans allowed. At brunch and high tea, attire is cruise casual, meaning no shorts, jeans, swimwear or tank tops.

So he should be fine with a dress shirt. :)

Keep forgetting to ask this (sjeez), but for those that have done the Secret Mickey before, I've got a pretty dumb question. How do folks normally go about exchanging the gifts as a SM? I mean, maybe it's me but I wouldn't feel totally at ease leaving the gifts in the FE for everybody to see. Besides, what if gifts have such odd sizes they do not fit? So basically; help this girl out!

Good for you!! We had a very productive weekend too.

Well, if you decide for next year, we'll have to meet up.

Sounds like you were productive!!! :thumbsup2 Just getting through this trip is priority here, too. I am begging for an Alaska cruise to rebook onboard--just a mommy and daddy one with no kids. But Disney for Christmas is always worthy in my book!!! :dance3:

Oh my, my Jennah woke up last night  running a fever...her throat hurts..her stomach is upset, etc..

I've got one with strep throat, one that I had to pick up from school today, who has already been to urgent care and told "it's a viral" and going around rampantly. Ugghhhh -- I say BRING IT ON!!! And get on with it, cause there better not be so much as a sniffle or cough when we get to the port!!! :lmao: Hope Jennah feels better soon and is able to keep her germs to herself! ;)

Ok, who has started packing?

Miss Procrastinator self me has actually started packing!!! :scared1: WooHoo! Don't ask me about my fe or fe gifts, or anything else, though! :rotfl2:My docs FINALLY came, so I guess that means I need to get my booty moving!!!:cheer2::laundy:Where's the maid?????:lmao:

If I've started? Well, I'm done for about 99,9%. :lmao::thumbsup2

WooHoo for you!!!! How's about stopping in Ohio and helping me before you head to Orlando??????:rotfl:

Like most things, we wait until the last minute to pack. I switched my work schedule, so I'll be off on the 24th and 25th, so we'll probably get into packing mode mid-day on the 24th. :thumbsup2

You and me both, sista! But seeing as I have six to pack for, and five nights at WDW first, as well as the kiddo staying at a friends, I have got to get moving! Hey, I've got an idea--how about I stop on the way down and drop off my incomplete FE's and you and that awesome crafty hubby of yours can finish them for me??? :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Living in laundry here, with piles of cruise stuff everywhere and lost in how to begin to pack it all up! :scared1: Wish me luck...

Do you need me to drive down and help you? I'm off Friday morning.

I am planning on the small things just being wrapped/having packaging the same all week w/small card attached and putting it in the FE. If it is something bigger, you can either see if you can get their stateroom steward to deliver for you, or take it to guest services and ask them to deliver for you. That's what I plan on doing anyhow!

Mine is actually close to me on the same deck, so I will see if my steward is the same; if not, he/she will know who is my sm's steward and can help!!:thumbsup2

Clear as mud????:goodvibes

BINGBING! We have a winner. How simple can things be. Sjeez, talk about not thinking for yourself. ;)

I have left mine in the FE if it fit, have left bigger items in a gift bag hanging on the FE or sitting by the door, have managed to have the room open because it was being cleaned and just stuck it in the room. If you see the room steward in the hall he would probably stick it in the room for you. I have never had anything come up missing. Maybe find out the persons dining rotation and take it to the restaurant and give to the Maitre'd to give to them?? Just use your imagination......:goodvibes

Nothing personal but as that would take time away from my WDW-time; no way Jose, ehm... Karen. :rolleyes1

I think I'm shedding a tear... I thought you were my friend???:confused3

How sweet of you, Juli! :flower3: I'm just messing around on here. I always cut it close --ask bigferrell! :thumbsup2 But I always get it done!!! :thumbsup2

Or in case of Lieske and myself; simply tie it to the back of our chairs when we're not looking. Wo know how long it would take us to find out something is behind there. :lmao:

I Figured as much but if you really needed the help I'd come. Can't promise I'd be out of Pj's but I'd be there.

Thanks all for the compliments on the cake and my Gracie! The lady that makes these cakes is so talented! She has made all my cakes in the last couple of years and they have all been just as beautiful.

Rebecca - Hope your Jennah feels better soon. Also hope it doesn't spread through the family :(

As far as packing - DD6 Hannah is packed. I will be packing Grace and George this week and then me and all the toiletries next week before we leave next Thursday. My magnets have been done for a couple of weeks and my FEs are finished except for one part of them...I'm just waiting for it to go on sale. I won't put anything in suitcases until the last minute. Instead, our dining room table will be our staging area for packing!

I'm going to the bank tomorrow to get all our $ in order. I need to figure all that out tonight. I can't believe we leave a week from Thursday. It seems so surreal! After planning for so long, it's hard to believe it's almost here! Woohoo!

Talk about crossing things off the to do list. I'm am on fire today!!!! Now if only I'd managed to clean my house to. :confused3

  • FEs are done and ready to ship.
  • All the pages of the autograph books are printed and ready to go to Office Max to be spiral bound.
  • Half (or so) of the magnets I need to print are printed....I am a little afraid to cut them since I only get one chance to do it.
  • Need to buy one red shirt for one of the boys and iron three pairs of their pants, then I can zip up two suitcases
  • Got the logistics of airport runs, yes I said runs, figured out for the 25th.
  • Mail has been put on hold for the week.

Boy it feels like I have accomplished a lot and yet the list of stuff that I haven't even started is a mile long.

I am going to need a vacation once I finish getting ready:lmao:

5 days and a wake up till we leave for WDW! :thumbsup2

Bigferrell's packing priorities: Camera, Bathing suit, a few pairs of shorts, a few shirts, Sunblock, case of wine, bottle of Maker's Mark, not necessarily in that order.

Goals for cruise: Wine and cheese on verandah at sunset with Karen, coffee and danishes at sunrise, Palo brunch, palo, drink with Fatcat, Have fun!

:cool1:
