Sept 25, 2011 Wonder - Mexican Riviera

Wow, a full, I'm impressed. Never done a full & no desire to do one. Te half is a perfect distance I think. I'm sorry about ur IT band, that sucks apparently it's a common injury for runner bc a couple of my friends have hurt hose and one is actually having surgery in October for it. No matter what it is being hurt sucks! Yes I'm in for the morning running. So u r only running on sat, the day we get back?? Well we'll see u a dolphin swim & hopefully before that so our girls can meet & play since they r the same age. R u guys flying in early or just for cruise?

Don't be too impressed! I had to walk a lot of it due to the injury. But, I finished! I also find the half the perfect distance. It's enough to push me, but not enough to injure me! I'll be running three times on the cruise. Not sure on the other days. My long runs are always on Sat though. And, our cruise gets in on Sun!!

We'll be flying in on the 12th and touring the SW for a while before the cruise.

We definitely need to plan a meeting of our group on that first day. On our previous cruises, we've met in a particular area around 3 or so, I think. I want to know your faces before we set sail!!!

:wave2: So I am a newbie! I have never been on a cruise before. Hubby and I are very excited to go! We are technically "married" - we had a quickie wedding 09/09/09 (@9:09pm) but we are having our WEDDING this year on 9/9, and having our honeymoon on the Wonder (so it will be just us)! We are soooo excited! :woohoo:

I am totally new to all of this, I just discovered this site last night. I am eager to learn all the in's and out's of DCL. I just learned about FE's and thought it was the coolest thing ever! I just realized our room# today! We are on deck two room #2122 :yay:

I will try to read up on past posts, but I am excited to join all of you on the Wonder!!:thumbsup2:woohoo::dance3:

Hello newbie!!!! We've stayed on deck 2 also and loved it!!!!! Congrats on your quickie wedding (cool date/time!) and on the new one!!!!

I would love to have a cruise meet. On other cruises, we've had a meet at 3 pm in the Promenade Lounge on Deck 3 (I think). The spa/gym has an open house with a draw at three, if anyone was interested in that, so 3:05 would work for a meet. The life boat drill is usually at 4......

Any other suggestions?

That sounds great! I'll be going to the gym too. I didn't remember that was at 3. So, 3:05 or so in the Promenade Lounge? We can compare notes with others and maybe sign up for a tasting (I want to try the beer tasting this time!) together.

I wouldn't mind doing a tasting of some sort. Did a wine tasting on the last cruise. It was very informative and fun!

OK so we're looking at adding in that there will be a meet-up on board at 3.05pm or so in the Promenade Lounge so that everyone can put faces to names before we set sale. 9 more days until we close the FE list. Wow time is going so quickly.

I'll join just about any tasting (though no cognac and whiskey for me)! We are interested in the 3:05 meet up as well!

Today was my DS's first day of school and I received a call mid-day to come pick him up. He has a fever of 102! He won't be going tomorrow and we will be missing over two weeks of school to go on this trip... I have resigned myself to being the most hated mom in the class. :headache:

Oh well... I won't be worrying about this once the trip(s) begin!!!

Nope we had been back at school 3 days last week before school sent out a notification of confirmed 5ths disease!

Awesome! Is there any way we can get the listing ahead of time? I also did the wine tasting and loved it. I used to like martinis and I hear there's a martini tasting too!

Time really is going fast! I cannot believe that we leave in just over three weeks!!!! Today I'm going through all the kids' clothes to see what we need so I can shop this weekend.

Poor guy! How is he today? He's just getting it out of his system now so he won't get sick on the cruise!

Has Kirsten gotten sick yet? Has she had 5th disease? I remember that as being pretty mild! I hope she doesn't get it though!!

Our family was sick all summer. I've declared us done for the rest of the year. NO MORE!!!!

I think we're fine. Having done my homework you can't confirm a case of 5th disease until the rash has appeared at which point they were contagious about a week before. I checked with the school and found out it was a child that hadn't attended camp during the Summer so I think it was more to warn the parents that if they saw a child with a rash don't worry as, apparently, the rash can last up to 3 weeks. We had a little scare last Friday night because as we were putting her to bed her right cheek appeared to be coming up in a rash but it wasn't there on Saturday morning so we realised she must have been rubbing/scratching it and we hadn't realised.

I think clothes wise Kirsten is set up although need to double check as she's still growing and her wardrobe has had to be rekitted out in the last few weeks. PJs she is now a 5 (although don't think they'll last long) but many of the brands of clothing she is a minimum of a 6x. At least her body is proportionate. She used to be tall and skinny and you could see her ribs. Now she's filled out so she's tall, but clothing doesn't hang off her like it used to. I don't need to make all the adjustments any more.

Got a clean up today as we had another dust storm last night. Thankfully it doesn't look too bad this morning as we also had it followed by rain which we haven't the last few times. Desperately need this vacation as not had a true vacation since last october. We spent 5 weeks in Europe at Christmas with family but were visiting someone different every day and with body clock, 4 different houses to stay in and a young child I came home from that trip even more tired than when I went on. Yeah only 5 more weeks tomorrow until we drive across.

Spent a bit of time working on my FEs again yesterday afternoon. Getting there. Have a great Friday everyone.

Much better today, thank you for asking! Yesterday he looked terrible but today he is smiling, more energetic and looks like himself. Thank goodness this is a quick one! Sad he missed the first two days of school. Even though there isn't a lot of classwork, it is important socially and for classroom rules/etc. Of course now I am super paranoid I am getting it. I really can't miss one day of work between now and the trip or I will be behind, and therefore stressed out, the whole two weeks I am gone.

More than anything though I am happy he (we) are getting it now!!!

We are totally game for a tasting! However, we aren't beer drinkers, wish we were, but we can't bear the taste. I hope your DS gets better soon! My in-laws are coming to stay at our place to take DS #1 to school each day. Last year (kinder) he had perfect attendance. I told DH I don't care about making a record from here on out, I just wanted it last year so he knew he had to go to school. He can miss school for the next disney cruise :rolleyes1

My DS went through that last year. I was sad when I had to stop shopping in the toddler (5T) section of the store and move to big boys. Then he grew two sizes in the last year. You would think he was an infant growing at that rate!

Right now I am on a business trip with hubby, next weekend is my "bachelorette" weekend w/the girls  and the following weekend is DH'S "Bachelor" party, then its the wedding!:scared1: So these few days are flying by for me! I can't keep up! So after the wedding I will be devoted to preparing for the cruise! :cheer2:

Hope you all have a good weekend!

Poor thing. I'm glad he is perking up. Better now than on Sept 25!! I'm so paranoid about one of the kids being sick come cruise day I bought the insurance. It would just be my luck. Hang in there. I hope you don't get it too.

So glad to hear that he is doing better. Just calm down and take a breath though because if you stress too much you are more likely to come down with something. I know it's difficult not to stress but all you can do is take every day as it comes, and know that if you need to rant and rave there are plenty of us here to support you.

We bought the insurance too. Coming from England anyway (well not for 10 years) but you never travel without insurance no matter where you go and my poor mum, last year, had 1 trip cancelled due to strikes and the 2nd trip she ended up having a 6 week trip rather than a 3 week trip to us due to strikes. Ultimately it didn't cause any problems except numerous changes of plans but my husband and I discussed it and with everything going on in the world these days we just decided it was an investment worth making.

This is her third growth spurt this year. She has always been tall now she has added a little weight into the game though so at least the clothes don't hang off of her. It's just she's gone from a size 4 to a 6/6x/7 (depending on brand) and as you said, this shop has been emotional realising that she is out of toddler clothes and yet I don't think at the age of 4 (birthday was memorial day) she's ready to be dressed in some of the clothing that fits her. She's got big feet too so I think I need to take her out shoe shopping again in the next week or two too.

Meant to say, but forgot, sounds as though you're next couple of weekends are going to be busy, but fun. Have a great time and can't wait to meet you.
