:cool1: Hi Guys :wave2:

Well, it appears that I have survived the Memorial Day weekend with the AZ relatives. Actually, we had a very nice time ... Temps always in the 100's. Went touring around the area NW of Phoenix (Sedona - Jerome). VERY nice ... Saguro cacti were all in bloom. Much nicer than ELP!!! :rotfl:

Now Chrystina  wants to move there ... :rolleyes1 ...
Perhaps I should just buy a MegaMotorhome :confused3
Course with my WanderingWays, I am not one to talk!!! :rotfl:

Welcome KB1esx!!! And CONGRATULATIONS David!!! :cheer2: You now have the Bon Voyage Party Baton :wizard: That makes you the "Master of Ceremonies" for the Bon Voyage Party. I think if you do a search of this thread for "baton" you should be able to get a synopsis of that discussion. It will also enable you to determine the magnitude of your responsibilities and the advantages & disadvantages of this critical position! :rotfl2:

Well ... Time to go unpack the dirty laundry ... See Ya Tuesday ...

Dennis

Holy Smoke.... :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

I really wish I head read this thread all the way thru before I posted. DOH!!!

How am I gonna explain this to the wife..... :confused3 Honey, look we have company..... :rolleyes1

LOL!!! :crowded:

I'll do the best I can. Are you all staying at my hotel?

Talk to you all later. I've got to get reading and find out what I've gotten myself into. I'm only on half way through page 12 of 34!!!! :scared:

Night all...

David

Wow. Miracles do happen. My hubby finally looks like he is interested in the trip!! He asked me two questions. "Is there lots of seafood on the ship?"..and "How many pools?". I stopped short and looked at him in confusion at first wondering what he was talking about. This is a breakthrough!! This is the first utterance of interest from him since I asked him if we could do a cruise...when he said "err...ok".

Hi Dennis,

Just a quick note. Where from the Boston area do you hail?

We've got 2 families here originally from differnt parts of the South Shore.

We've got family members here that dig cribbage & another member that likes his Guiness (sp?), not me though. I like a different brand of grog.

Gotta run.

Night all,

David

There are three pools...my favorite is the adults-only pool since it is usually the quietest, and it tends to have fewer people than the other tewwo.

I have always felt that there is enough seafod on board. However, I'm not a huge seafood fan, so.....

Glad to "hear" that your husband is excited!

Happy Tuesday all!

Happy Tuesday Everyone,

Welcome David :wave2:

I survived the weekend too  . DD is now officially 11, sleepover was huge success.....mom and dad needed saturday to recover. Science projects are done, play costume almost done......Vegas here we come  . Next wednesday that is.....

Giles Family: You mentioned guilt earlier in the tread.........after scheduling our mom and dad trip to Vegas I discover my DD11's 5th school play is while we are gone......she was none too happy either, luckely we can get a video tape to watch when we get home :confused3 ......What you going to do?? Thats what grandma's do best :love2:

Dennis, I envy your warm weather....we were teased with 95* for 2 days last week and *poof* back to clouds and low 70*...........

ErinC: hope you had a GREAT :cheer2: birthday.

Have a great week everyone,
Hey Dennis I'm missing that countdown,
Is it time to go yet?????

I agree....I miss the Daily Dennis countdown....

Dennis, where are you???

Good Morning!!! :sunny:

Wx in ELP has cooled down ~ Will only reach mid 90's today!!!

Okay - Sorry about the Countdown. Have been using Chrystina's  PC and have run into a compatability problem with the wirless connections :badpc: :earboy2: BUT have resorted to the pencil & paper transfer method ... :sad2:

Time to go is:

3 Months, 23 Days, 11 Hours, 30 Min, 15 Secs
16 Weekends or 155 Days or 2771 Hours or 166,289 Minutes!!!

UNDER 10Million Seconds  :cheer2:  :cheer2:

Only 9,977,380 seconds!!! WOW!!! :earseek:

Now don't you feel better?

Dennis

Dennis' Daily countdown puts me in a panic! How am I ever going to get it all done in 9,977,380 seconds! :p

Actually the cruise is pretty much itinaried..but it's the two days pre- and one day post- that is causing me grieve. We have free hotel stays at Best Western, so we are staying at a hotel on I-drive and then after the cruise we are staying at the B.W. in the World. This is getting to be a huge puzzle on how to get around, as we are trying not to have to rent a car. The biggest issue is debarkment day. If we get back to WDW around 10 am and checkin time isn't until 4 p.m., and we have no transportation, what the heck are we going to do for six hours. Any suggestions?

GilesFamily:

Always plenty of seafood. There is always an abundance of shrimp. Do NOT miss out on the lunch the first day! MEGA Prawns!!! There is, as I remember, always multiple seafood salads at lunch buffets along with at least one main seafood dish. There are always shrimp somewhere in the buffet.

At dinner there is usually a seafood appetizer - shrimp cocktail, escargot, stuffed crabs, etc and a main meal - Grouper, Salmon, Trout, Crab Legs, and Lobster Tails, etc so Hubby should be satisfied. If he has a doubt about what to order, order more than one dinner! He won't be the only one that does it. My only complaint (being a dyed in the wool New England Yankee) is that that the Lobster is Rock Lobster and not Atlantic Lobster which I think is tougher.

There are three pools, three dining rooms, multiple bars, dinner shows, and Disney Movies ... He will be hooked ... This is the fourth WDW Cruise for us. We have also done multiple other cruises with Princess, Holland, and Carnival.

MY MOSTEST FAVORITE BENEFIT is that Chrystina  and I don't have to have the "where shall we go for dinner" discussion!!!

Hope that helps to set the hook a little deeper - Now just reel him in!

Dennnis

Giles :wave2:

Chrystina  and I are staying at WDW before we go. We plan to use Magic Express to get from airport to Wilderness Lodge and DCL buses to get from resort to ship to airport. Works out less expensive and less hassle than a rental car for us. Not sure how many of you there are but I do remember a discussion that Limo service may be less expensive for larger group.

Have you called WDW to see if you can get on the DCL Bus from ship to resort? When you get to BW resort ... just give them your luggage. They will secure it for you until you are able to check in. Then go play!!!!

SmilingMouse :wave2:

Here I am ~ Will do better on the CountDown....
Have just Wandering around ... Doing some reading and trying to get a job.
Have had some trouble "adjusting" to a life of leisure.

NOT use to NOT going to work. Although Chrystina  is trying to turn me into her man-servant ~ Laundry, cooking, mopping, etc... NOT!!!

Have been house-bound since we discovered my driver's license expired about three months ago... :rotfl: Was unable to rent a car :rolleyes1 Can't get a new one until I get back to Alaska in about ten days or so. :earboy2: So I have been doing a lot of reading, walking, catching up on writing a few newsletter articles (Alaska Master Gardener's) and trying to stay busy... Will be meeting up with my nephew next week to take him fishing in Alaska ...

KB1esx :cool1:

David - I am originally from Charlestown. Back when it was no more than a ghetto section of the city. There was still a prison, potato yards, and elevated trains (as opposed to subways). NOT the best section of town ...
I am a true "TOWNIE" - except for the fact that I never ended up in jail. :rotfl: Thank God for Irish Matriachs!!! :rotfl:

Went to high school in Cambridge (Matignon & MIT). Undergraduate College (Lowell Tech) roomate was from Quincy. Also went to first Graduate School in Wellsley (Babson) but did that living in Charlestown. Know the New England States VERY WELL and miss them always ... BUT unable to get Chrystina  to even think about moving there ~ Too many years in Fairbanks, AK has made here adverse to moving anywhere where there is snow & cold. So it looks like TX, AZ or NM for the forseeable future!!!

Look forward to playing cribbage with anyone & everyone...

Dennis

Hi All,

Just doing the daily check in thing... I am so not planned for this vaca like I have for past WDW vacations. I'm looking to go the relaxing route and I haven't planned any excursions yet. :earseek:

We've got 2 families going, 4 adults & 3 kids. Kind of tricky to decide what you may feel like doing. Oh well ... :confused3

Dennis: The roots of these 2 familes are from Quincy (2), Marshfield (1) & Easton (1). The 2 Families now reside in Grafton (Me, DW, DS12 & DS9) and Easton (SiL, BiL & Nephew 8). Also, Can I bring anything from NE? Red Hot Dogs, Lobster, Maple Syrup, Howards Green Piccalilli????

Gotta run, back tonight.

David

Hi David.

It's your sister-in-law, the other cruise member......... Just signed up and want to say Hello to you and all.

DiDi :earsgirl:

Congrats Diane!!!!

You are the new baton holder! :cool1:

You'll have to read the prior posts to see what your obligations are. :confused3

Everyone please give a warm DIS welcome to DiDi!! :wizard:

Talk more in a bit....

I just got to page 21 of 35. Whew... Gotta keep reading.

David

Welcome Diane!

I know how you feel, David. When I joined the group a month or two ago, I had to scan the past messages after being thrown the baton to see exactly what I had gotten myself into. I had to hold it for a good three weeks or so and man, are my arms tired.

Hi to all, :wave2:

I also have some reading to do.... I'm up to page 12, I'll have to continue tonight. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all, and to the 9/24 cruise. :bitelip: Everyone will have to give me some tips on how to become laid back. I have to modes, go and stop.... :Pinkbounc I'm so use to always being on the go that I not sure how to rest. This cruise could be hazardous to my health :rotfl: :rotfl:

I will gladly take up the baton, my brother-in-law is such a slacker!!!!
