Thanks all for the DL insights. Candy Cane Inn does have an exclusive shuttle for guests to/from park. (a DIS member on the DL forum confirmed this and said that they were reliable) Shuttle service is a tie-breaker for us if we can't stay on property.

DH says that we're going to try and just keep a simple pace. Won't see all. Enjoy just being there. Our "must do list" is mostly kids' Fantasyland stuff and Space Mountain, Pirates, and the evening light parade and fireworks show.

Thanks again, everyone for help.

RE: our Cruise, what excursions are y'all looking at?

Happy Thursday :flower:

Hello everyone!!

For excursions, we are looking at the dolphin discovery for my daughter and me in Cozumel. My husband prefers to stay on the boat, so he will stay there and watch our son (and nap! ;) ). I don't know if she will do it or not because she is halfway scared of the water, I heard the water gets pretty high. For sure, I want to take her on one of the submarine excursions. She has been really curious about submarines for a while now, she would really get a kick out of it. I would like it, too!!

Hope everyone is doing well. Take care.

ErinC - Your right... Isn't SouthernMouse "nice" for taking the baton like that? You realize, this entitles her to the "special" Alaska prize? You were SO generous to give up the baton. :earboy2:

Abbreviated List as I have it without a more OCD review is below. :rolleyes1 Have it on an excel sheet with a little more info. Had planned to sitdwon and add some additional info but I seem to have less time and tasks these days. If there are any corrections or you can fill in some blanks, let me know. Must know how many "moose nuggets" to bring. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Am going to wait until we break the next Million Second mark before I post another countdown.

Power Alaska- Yes and Keri has already "chewed" on me about my baton comment in one of the 17 cel phone conversations we have had today! :teeth: She's a very good friend, so I'm sure she will share her prize! :rotfl: On the final list, SouthernMouse in a family of 3(not 4), she just happens to have my DD registered with her.

If moose nuggets are what I think they are, you can leave mine at home!! :teeth:

Thanks for the list!

ErinC - Will try to remember to email you the list after I add some updates this weekend. Hope it had what you were looking for. Don't carry a cel phone or get one with caller id then you don't have to listen to SouthernMouse whine (Must be an Auburn thing!)

But ErinC - these are edible moose nuggets!!! No, I am not bringing moose nuggets, although I have known Alaska visitors to collect them!!! Holy Crap!

WOW my smilies aren't working!!! HOw can I do a good commentary without smilies? Becky - You will need to add that to the OCD Anon Checklist. It goes under item 1648D, Chapter M, Paragraph 42, Subsection XVI ok?

BJ - Not sure if you want the help ... I have taught lots of kids to swim. Fear of the water is more dangerous than none sometimes ... Just an offer if you want it. Can do it in Goofy's Pool if you want the help.

bpi - Good deal about the Candy Cane - Have a great time. Don't miss "It's a Bug's World" Great fun...

Excursions - Not sure about us. Probably a walking/shopping tour of Old Key West, Some tour of Grand Cayman (Have done the Stingrays - GREAT) Also know a great bar that serves "jerked alligator" in Grand Cayman (Yes, we did actually go "out to eat" when we were ashore)(Sure hope the hurricane didn't wipe it out), and probably EXTARA? park at Cozumel. Have been to all these ports before so we are looking for things we have not done. Have tried the "stay on the boat thing"... I lasted about 45 minutes!!!

Hey! we just had an earthquake ~~~ COOL!!!

Good Night all

Dennis- My daughter is in swim lessons (and has been off and on for 3 YEARS!) and just last night at lessons, I saw an incredible improvement in her! She did great. Thank you for the offer though, I still may take you up on it. We'll have to see how this session turns out. She can doggie paddle with the best of them, just don't try to get her to put her face in the water!

My husband and I did the stingray excursion on a cruise a few years ago, it was so much fun!! I recommend that to everyone, it's a little intimidating at first, but it is so amazing!

:jumping1:

Take care!!

Dennis,

I think we have a problem, that section i already full ;) Now what am I going to do? I guess I'll have to rearrange the booklet.....I think I feel an "OCD episode" coming on :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Well, I'm off to visit my 2 best friends for the weekend :moped: :cheer2:

I'll see everyone Sunday night

~Becky

Becky - Have a safe trip - Enjoy

Julie - No problem. Glad she is learning early... Only way to do it. Aren't those stingrays something? Try to grip the squid in your hand when you feed them. Feels like a vacuum on steroids. Too cool. I would ALWAYS opt for water activities - snorkeling, sailing, etc - BUT alas Chrystina  wants to do something else - See the rest of the Island - Take me to Hell - since I never seem to go when I am told... :rolleyes1 I am sure that we will enjoy the Turtle Farm and whatever else we do... I am pretty easy about the excursions EXCEPT when we have to sit for two hours on a bus!!! It better be something special...

Well have brought home some "homework" to do this weekend... Good news is it RAINED today and wiped out most of the snow. Temps were in high 40's! :Pinkbounc

Hi everyone!

I just got home from visiting my parents over the weekend, just checking in to say hello. Hope everyone had a fun weekend!

Hi everyone :)

I'm back from my weekend of fun....Did I miss much?

Becky & Julie - Welcome Back. Not much activity. Just me jumpin ... :Pinkbounc

Appears most everyone is pretty busy with their lives. As we get closer, I am sure things will pick up ... :cool1:

Let me first say that "Soarin'" is utterly fantastic!!! So realistic and we didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes because it's not on the map yet and most folks didn't realize it was open! DH is ready to get his hangglider or ultralight now.

We're all broke, blistered, cold and sore. And, isn't that what a Disney vacation is all about...it was wonderful. I am SO excited now for the cruise and a chance to relax with Mickey and do it again.

Glad to see we're still on page 1. Good work guys!

Glad you all had a great trip. We did Soarin at California Adventure 3 or 4 years ago on our Disneyland trip. It was my favorite ride. DD was only 5 at the time and she still talks about it at almost 9 years old, so it really made an impression on her. I can't wait to try it out at WDW, even though I have no idea when that will be at this point. Erin

Hi Everyone,
Sorry to be away, been under the weather AGAIN! :guilty:
But better now :cool1:
I've have enjoyed all the posts, nice to see more lurkers coming out of the woodwork.
SOO ready to go
Just about everything that can be booked, reserved, or scheduled is......OH NO what is an OCD to do :confused3 ??? I don't know what to do with my time if there's nothing to plan!!!
I've worn out my passporter, pages are falling out :rotfl: ......new edition not to arrive till mid May........
DEEP BREATH.......... :goodvibes Ahhhhh.....O.K. I'm better.......I think... :teeth:

Have a great week everyone,
kim

Hi Erin & Kim :wave2:

KC - Sorry to hear that you were not well. Glad to hear you are feeling better... Where are you getting the Passporters from? I am trying to energize my bride  - who will wait until the last minute if given the chance ... Her excuse? - "Well you always have EVERYTHING planned out" ... :rotfl: Drives me nuts!!! It's okay until something is NOT the way she likes it ... in which case, guess who is wrong!!! :rotfl:

Well ... hi ho hi ho ... it's off to work I go ... :rolleyes1

Take Care all ...

ErinC - How do you post the picture on your signature? Thanks - Dennis

Well...in my case I bugged DH for about a month until he finally got tired of listening to me, and he figured out how to put it in my signature! :rotfl: It still isn't as big as I wanted it to be, he said it would come back and fix it for me later! I'm not sure when "later" will ever get here!! ;) Thats okay, he works about 60 hours a week so I can be at home with my girls, so it's not like he doesn't have "anything else" to do! :) Seriously, if you go over to the tech board there are instructions on how to place one in your signature, and they have a page to save your picture here on the dis. That's about all I can tell you, I am so computer illiterate.
