Sept 2015 car rental WATCH thread

Not sure if one has been started yet, feel free to delete this if so.

I've been searching for a mid size or larger for 9/21 thru 9/28. The cheapest I've found so far is with Alamo for $273, using a $30 off code. I did reserve it but still looking for something better.
Is it best to wait for closer to travel dates? Anyone used UT for rentals?

Ok, I did not locate a September thread either, so i am jumping on. Will continue to watch for any "deals" as i love watching the price go down as the date approaches!

I started another thread pertaining to the VROOM code, and after reading the answers I've decided to cancel my cheap VROOM reservations as well. From what I understand it's kind of hit and miss on when they will honor it, and even if you bypass the counter checkins, the fact is that unless you are an international traveler, this code isnt' meant for you. And if you get in an accident, that means the insurance they include with it won't apply, and your own personal insurance also will not cover you because according to them you had it thru the rental company and that trumps their insurance.... So you could end up being personal liable for anything that happens, and that's not a risk I'm willing to take.

where do you enter the VROOM code? I tried in the contract ID and in the product code and both are saying invalid?

That is the cheapest I have found in quite a while.
