Sept 2012 FD

What do you think the chances are for the Canadian FD offer to be extended to Americans? We are travelling next Sept. with my parents and they really want to stay at Poly, but I don't think we can swing it without FD.

Anyone else hoping and praying for fall 2012 FD?

I am torn to go this November v.s. 2012 only because free dining is offered this year and not sure about next. I would rather go next year so I have the entire trip saved for but if no free dining the trip is $1311 more next year

I am torn do not know what to do...charge some of it and save over next year if dining not offered or take my chances

I am hoping for free dining December 2012. If we don't get it, I will not cancel the dining package. I love having this paid for in advance. I think your chances of FD in September are very good. I believe the last 5 or 6 years this has happened in September.

I realize that Disney is limiting the amount of discounts released to the general public, but given that the offer has been released to the UK residents, Canadians as well as bounce back offers for those currently staying on property I say the chances are VERY HIGH that the offer will be extended to the US general public. I am budgeting for a trip next September with only my AAA savings since I know for SURE will will be going discount or not, and just look at any other discount that may or may not be released as icing on the cake!

Before the economy tanked, WDW had offered a FD promo for September. It's a slow month for travel due to the weather and schools starting. Even in the dark ages before FD, promos of some kind were offered for Sept. travel dates. Since FD is one of the more successful promotions they've had for filling rooms (at rack rates!) I think odds are good it will continue, at least for off travel periods.

We booked bounceback when we left for 14 nights again. So I would say chances are pretty good.

I would very surprised if they didn't offer it. They have for the past 7 years and they have all ready for UK, Canada, and bounce back. Really I'm not sure what they are waiting to release to us. At this time last year it was all ready out for this year.

I hope it'll be offered. Sept. is a slow season with back-to-school and is the peak of hurricane season, so some sort of discount should be coming. I hope it's free dining.

We booked bounceback but then cancelled before we checked out this morning....it's just way too hot for us in September, we were miserable. I hope they extend it for the US in to October or November.

After booking my 2012 trip while in Canada (on a weekend vacation), I had no idea that I was on the Canadian website (I live in the US) so I called WDW today.

Spent 2 hours on the phone. Spoke to 3 supervisors and multiple Cast Members. I was told you are breaking no rules or voiding any contract if you do this from outside Canada and in the US. One person likened it to your local walmart selling a product for 10 bucks and youfinding it on walmarts website for 8 bucks. Another said it happens all the time and it is completely ok to do. There is no rule or anything else limiting it to Canadians. They. Also said you will not be looked down upon or should not feel as if you are cheating Disney. The offer is out there and people who find it are free to use it. It is no different than people who try to get pin codes by saving vacation offers or ordering planning cds. Hope this helps others.

I should also point out that twice it was told to me that "It is not a CANADIAN discount. It is an offer on the Canadian WDW website".

Now for rumor, it was also mentioned that this is likely going to be offered to the main Disney website eventually and if I was really paranoid I should just cancel this reservation at that time and rebook one but I really don't need to because this won't be a problem and my reservation looks just like any other.

This is completely legit and others are reporting the same thing. If you want to "guarantee" free dining, book it now. I guess you can google "Disneyworld.ca" and it is the first thing that comes up. The free dining offer for September 2012 is right there. You don't have to be Canadian. Again, nothing states you must be Canadian which is what differs it from the Florida Resident discount which clearly states "FOR RESIDENTS OF FLORIDA ONLY".
