Sept 2009

We love Sept. because it's not crowded, we get bounce back deals, and the weather is nice. It can be hot but you plan around it - like coming back to the pool at POP in the middle of the heat (2pm-6pm) to get relief and a rest to be able to go back later. I've seen alot of families dead tired by 5pm withou taking the break.. This way we also park hop and go to a different park at night from the one we visited during the day! Also, with the dining plan, we eat later and stay later!

:) BWI from 9/24-9/29. It is a bounceback offer with free dining but we are re-thinking and maybe trying to change our reservations if AP rates are issued. We really don't care if we get free dining or not and since we will be purchasing APs, we won't have to buy the required length of stay pass. We put a deposit down and can cancel up to 45 days prior to arrival without a penalty. Decisions, decisions!

We are looking into Aug 30 to Sept 6...probably at POR, but I am also considering AKL...and trying to convince DH that it really IS the best place for our belated honeymoon!

Ok so I know it's early. But if any of you are Disney addicts like I am you are ALREADY counting down the days.

I figured I would start this so we could get to know each other. And help each other out with the planning?

As for me, my name is Shana. I am from Warminster, Pa which is 30 mins outside of Philadelphia. I married my summer love. We met when we were 14 & 15 at the shore and have been married for 3 years. Last Sept we stayed at POFQ it was my children's first trip. DS 2 and DS 1. To see DS 2 face every time we got close to the castle & TTA & Astro orbiter & last but not least Goofy's Barnstormer makes me want to go back again & again & again!

We have a bounceback planned for Polynesian 9/19-9/25 and I am soooo excited. That is my dream resort. I have stayed there w/ my parents in 89 and 92 and I am looking forward to taking my children there! I cannot wait!

255 days AND COUNTING!
I hope to get to know alot of you!

Take Care
Shana:goodvibes

we will be at POR Aug 30-Sept 5 too! We couldn't get a decent flight home on the 6th and we're using FF miles. DS's birthday is Sept 3rd and I think it will be so great to celebrate there!

we are holding off on buying our airline tickets till closer to our date sept 4-13 ...hopefully they will come down by then....

We will be at AKL from September 7th - September 14th for our honeymoon.

So excited! :cool1:

We should totally meet up!!! Awesome!!

And...I started a Pre-Trip Report...check out my signature for the link!

Geez, I hope the ticket prices do come down - they're ridiculous right now!

oh yeah I know...we went around the same time last year and they came down to a decent price...I am going in May but am driving but airfare is only like $89 one way...but they were 136 so they have come down...

I would suggest Priceline...I have been finding deals for our various trips before Disney, $100 less than anywhere else for two people. It was off my radar as a place to look but now it is front and center!!

never thought about looking there...thanks for that idea...

I wish we were close enough to drive, but not even remotely gonna happen (see my location) LOL We tend to fly out of Seattle because it's much cheaper than flying out of Vancouver and it's only a two-hour drive for us. So far, SEA flights/prices are still outrageous - I'll keep checking and checking and checking :lmao:

Yep, Priceline is one of the sites I have bookmarked - I check my bookmarked flight option sites once a week. So far, no joy on Priceline, but I'm not giving up - I WILL find good prices (and the CDN$ dollar exchange WILL get better before we go LOL). The power of positive thinking, right? :goodvibes

Positive thinking will get you many, many places!!!

I hope one of the sites works for you! Good luck!!

well it is only a 17 hour drive (only hahaha...) I only plan on making that drive once...and that is because I am going with some friends in may that want to do a road trip..not my choice...lol...but def..flying in Setember..lol

Add me to the September list!

My family of 5 will be staying Club Level at the Grand Floridian. For the past 3 years we've done the Poly, but this year we're trying something new. And to top it off, we're arriving on my b-day!:woohoo:
