The walk is no longer than the furthest POP building...well, actually, I've not been there since they chnaged the parking lot, so not sure now. BUT there is a good shuttle!!

I just want to thank you all so much 4 the wishes :grouphug: as this has been one the hardest day of my life. approx. 4:24 Peanut went peacefully to meet his mommy. I was holding his little paw while they gave him the drugs to make him go to sleep, we brought him home and put him behind our back garage (we have 3 all together) so I will go out this weekend and buy him a little head stone.

I would not wish this kind of pain on anyone. god bless to all! Have a great night everyone.

Because we adopt senior Maltese (usually 13 or 14 yrs old) we have been through this more times than we ever thought we could stand. It is always so heart wrenching - but there is the peace that we have seen them off with much love and gentleness. If only we could all go as lovely.

Be gentle with yourself for awhile...

Hey all! Just a quick note to say hi. I've been reading posts, but never seem to have time to post anymore.
Pooh, I'm sorry about your baby. We put out 12 year old cat to sleep a couple of years ago. I was devastated. I know exactly the pain you're feeling.
To all the others, sorry about applicances breaking, jealous of trips to DL & toher great places, sorry your weather sucks (ours is back in the low 40s but we had a few GREAT days in the upper 60s to sustain me), I wanna go to Texas too and most of you can find me on facebook if you'd like. Just send me a PM if you're interested. I already have a few of you ladies.

Still planning our April trip as well. Actually, most of the planning is done. Now I'm just working on the saving up for the trip part. Things keep coming up here: 64 yo Dad boke his femur last week & they put in a rod, ruptured pipe, tearing up a floor, dryer not working right, car with electrical issues, etc. Add to all of that the budget cuts in education... hubby will find out in mid-March if he still has a job or not. We can't even sell out house and move to a job because no one is buying houses OR hiring band directors.

Thanks to all and hugs to you Mom2Evie  I hope things go well for your Hubby with his job and your dad as well I hope he gets better soon!!

I am thinking about taking a trip to HOME in the future just for a long weekend and I think I can leave out of youngstown, oh for like 30 each way at least that was the special they had going on so I will see if I can get it if so Mike said GO!!! so I am going ! not sure of dates or anything but have to see how surgery goes first.

My sympathies to Poohbear and her family...we had to put our beloved golden down @5 years ago so I know how hard it is...
Mom2Evie, how is your Dad recovering? I can empathize with job uncertainty and the stress it can cause in a relationship!

Mom2Evie, sorry you are under so much stress. Hope your father is ok and I can't imagine the stress of worrying about your husbands job.

We have been watching the housing prices drop here and when you know you are only in an area for 2 or 3 years, it is stressful. We bought our house thinking what a good deal it was considering the original asking price, well the two houses just like it went for $20-30,000 less than what we paid for ours. It's a scary world out there right now.

Poohbear, I am so sorry for your loss. I've got an almost 14 year old Boston Terrier that I am starting to worry about the quality of his life. He is blind and deaf, so not sure what kind of life he has. I help him find his way around the house throughout the day.

M&N, thanks for the picture. Doubt I will ever get there but that is interesting to know. I hope to answer your email tomorrow, Fridays are my only days off, maybe. I am stuck in the middle. I have an 86 year old lady whose husband is in the nursing home and she is not well enough to drive and he is faltering and then the CC kids are coming down with something and need a Grandma. I am big and fluffy and they need comfort until their moms and dads get off work. :lovestruc

Pooh, I am sorry for your loss. The price of love is painful cause if you did not care it would not hurt. I would rather bear the pain rather than be cold hearted, so would you.

JM, if you consider your house a home and not an investment it will ease your mind. Our house has lost a bit of value but since we have no intention of moving right now and if we did the lower price of the new one would offset our losses I figure it does not matter and I do not choose to think about it. :cloud9:

M2E, ouch! I can imagine how frustrated and worried you must be. Take a deep breath and think of one thing at a time. Sometimes there just is nothing you can DO about things except to ride it out and then, later, when you look back it usually turns out much better than you think at the time. Sounds trite but I have found it to be true. While a ruptured pipe is not a good thing I am hoping that it is in your house and not put in your poor father. :)

Jan, if you enjoy the Candy Cane Inn you might want to try out Santa Claus Lodge, it is within a short drive of my house. :lmao: BTW, I am jealous.

Diva K, you have a picture for every occasion. Just when I think you cannot come up with something more you do.

I love you all but I do not do Facebook. Long story. Sad story. Scary story.

Have to get some work done before I take Tom bowling. See ya later!

What good news, Kris!! :cool1: I wish I could rid myself of this terrible envy!! :sad2:

Nevertheless, am so happy for everyone who has a trip planned this year. ::yes::

Have never had a countdown of over 2 years before :scared1: First time for everything, I guess. ;) And better than no countdown at all!

Mom2Evie, how awful to be under so much stress. am so sorry...hope your dad is okay...

Take care all.

Thanks all for your words of support. Things have been hard for hubby & I lately. I've tried to talk to him about a few things I'd like changed, but he's hearing none of it. It's likely due to the stress of the job, but who knows. In a recession with looming job cuts, it's not a good time to have a marriage crisis, huh? I want to be happy. I want to be treated with the respect I deserve. I want him to see that I'm worth it. Right now all he can see is his fear about losing everything: job, family, home, etc. I get it, honestly. I'll give him the time he needs to work this all out in his head.

Dad is doing really well. He came home from the hospital on Tuesday, I think. He's resting comfortably at home now & I'm sure getting impatient already with his lack of mobility. I'm hopeful that he'll convalesce for the length of time his doctors want.

Kristine, let me know for sure when you're going back down. We're (Me, BFF & DD) currently booked to arrive on 8/23. DD school doesn't start until the Tuesday after Labor Day. Since Labor Day falls later in the month this year, we would cnosider a move to a week later. If we could run into each other while we're there, that would rock!

oh Rie if there is anything I can do please don't hesitate to call me okay!! you were there when I needed a true friend and i will be there for you just to listen or what ever you need!!! I mean it! Miss ya!
