I know that mid-September is usually a good time to go... but now I'm a little concerned about how the free dining plan will change crowd levels.
Does anyone know how crowds were last September during the free dining?

Hi Mistie,

September crowds will always be light, free dining or not. School has just started, and any time school is in session will be less busy than when it is not.

Free dining may have bumped crowds up a bit last year, but September is still not crowded.

the 9th thru the 17th was great! Very little waits for rides, pretty much walk on most days. We skipped morning EMH since we couldn't drag grandma out of bed and just did the evening EMH's. Still very little wait times. Only problem we had was dining. Most of the table service's were turning people away or not seating walk-in's until after 8pm. Lines did pick up on Sat the 17th, but we were leaving that afternoon and just ran into MK for a few last minute things.

Sept 2005 was awesome :cool1:

We were there the last week of Sept, except for the weekends most of the rides were walk ons. The only exception was Soarin' and Test Track )but still less than 15-20 mins. We had all of are ADR's planned out so Table Service availabilty for walk ups is unknown but at peak dinning times they were packed. Sept once again will have free dinnig so it won't be like previous Sept, but nothing like the Summer or Holidays. Crowds at WDW have a reverse corelation with School, it's simple No school equal crowds, school in session equal no crowds.

When we were there last Sept 17th-24th the parks were almost empty. Most rides were a walk on. I'll be going back this year Sept 22nd-30th.

We always go in Sept. (Hurricane's permitting) so Free Dining is just a bonus. I've read several people have adjusted their dates a little, but not enmass. We've always done off season (another advantage of homeschooling) but I'm afraid those days are coming to an end. I'm glad the rates are still 'value season', but I don't think the crowds will be much longer. We went March '05 and everything was walk-on, We stopped going in Oct. it was getting crazy.

It wont affect the crowds that much. It willstill be slow. It may affect the end of august a little more if kids are still out of school.
