hi all,

We are planning on going to Orlando next Sept - when is the best time to book the flights for prices? is it too early yet? there are 4 adults and 4 kids and we really want to go BA to Virgin.

Also any good website for flights?

cheers
Nat

Nat - I'm bumping this up for you in the hope that someone can be more helpful than me! I tend to book my holidays about 12 months in advance and always through Virgin Holidays - just my preference. However, I know that there are lots of people here that book DIY and can be more helpful than I can.

hi, just a quick note to say we went to WDW last September from the 14th till 28th and all the parks were empty. the longest we queued was about 15-20 min max. We have just booked for next year same time. hope this helps.
cool chris:smooth:

hey cool chris

Who did you book with - diy or with an agent? how much (if you don't mind me asking) flights etc?

cheers

I am planning a trip for early 2005 and have started doing the homework already.
We done a DIY trip last October but in all honesty, I don't think it was any cheaper than a package deal.
The best deal I've been offered so far is with Travel City Direct.
It actually works out cheaper flying Aberdeen/Gatwick/Orlando with BA than flying Glasgow/Sanford with an unknown airline.
We flew BA last year and they were faultless.
By the way, you can only book BA 330 days before travelling.

Hi
We've alway's went to Orlando with Virgin but not anymore next year we're travelling with TCD, as they were a £1000 cheaper. Virgin were quoting £190 return from Aberdeen pp. BA are only £67.

hi i picked up ba brochure this morning, flight prices for sept04 are 529 for adults and 319 for kids up to ages 11, this also includes seven days car hire free!! there was a flyer with the brouchure that said they have offers on flights at ba.com, dont know if this helps but it might be worth a look susie :boat:

If you want to do Virgin then try Virgin Flightstore...(0870 757 7747) they can check availability 365 days before departure, they will hold these seats off for you. The call back 365 days before your return date and they will be able to hold the return and quote you rates (by holding these seats off till the return portion goes on sale does NOT commit you to purchase!)

Ask them to quote you for car hire as well.... this then tells them that you'll be booking car hire in the uk and will flag up their IT (inclusive tour) rates which are cheaper than their flight only rates.... at the moment they are offering a free upgrade wehn you take car hire from them, so that might be worth a look.

1 final point if you choose not to take their car just advise them of the booking number of the supplier you have used and they will still be able to give the IT rate.

If you need flights to Gatwick (with the exception of NI) it is better to do it separately thru ba.com etc as vigin will quote domestic rates but they'll fly into Heathrow!!!! with BMI...

Hope that helps

Flew with American Airlines from Glasgow to MCO via Chicago - third September visit. (14th-28th also Chris!!). We always go the last 2 weeks - the parks are very easy to negociate and the weather is hot, but not always oppressive.

Cost £470 per adult and £258 per child. Flights were excellent, superb legroom and 1st class service on board.

Only gripe? - $5 for a beer or wine.

Got the flights via Expedia - and will book AA again for next September.

Try Travel city direct, They are much cheaper than Virgin in my experience, especially if the kids fall in the adult price bracket for flights.
