We're going to take Disney transporation to the Grand Californian. :cool1::cool1:

Only a day or so and we will be making our Palo reservations. I am so excited! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Stef, our TA made our Palo ressies for both cruises for us as we were traveling up in the states, but she did mention that there seemed to be a LOT of availability for Palo.

Just booked our flights with Air Canada From Whitehorse to Vancouver on the 20th. Should be landing at 9:15 and will grab a cab and head straight to the port. I'm not anticipating that there will be any major delays, but there is another morning flight just in case....

Now I'm excited about being able to book excurions and Palo in just two days. Should probably book a flight home also.

We won't be going to DL this time, but will stay on the ship for the first MR cruise and then fly home on Oct 2.

Does anyone know when the formal/semi formal nights are on this cruise?

Janice

Janice,
Thanks for posting this information and also for posting it on the 9/25 thread as well!

Michael

OK!! Thanks for the info.

Transport:
Karmel Shuttle $70ish
socalimo - $100
Supershuttle - tbd

Dinner nights:
pirate - yes
formal - no (which makes me secretly glad so I can pack less!)

For those that are using Super Shuttle to get to Disneyland, how are you booking it? I've never used it before and when I go to the website it only gives me the option of going to/from an airport. Help!

I used the Fare Generator to check this out.
1. For Direction - FROM AIRPORT
2. For Airport - Choose Los Angeles Harbor from the drop down box
3. For Location - TIck off the box and hit submit. On the next page put in the name of your hotel (I used Disney Grand Calif)

If you need further help there is a phone number listed: 800 BLUE VAN

Hope that helps some.
Michael

P.S. Just saw that you are writing from Southampton, UK so the phone number might not work for you but there is a Contact Us e-mail: reservations@supershuttle.net

Thanks. I knew about the repo but we were just wondering about the MR.

So who else is doing the B2B? We found that seven days is just too short to cruise and my DW does not like to fly. So this we works out great for us since we only have to fly once and then spend 12 days on the ship and it brings us home. (We wanted to do the last Alaska cruise and come home, but drydock messed that up for us.)
We miss the ship since when she's in San Pedro we go down to the port at least once a month to see her (and other ships) off. It's even more fun if you know someone on board and/or bring your scanner to listen to ship communications.

Can't wait for September!!!

Oooh thanks for mentioning this! We've still got 15 days before the newbie cruisers can book so maybe there's hope for us yet!

Would it be possible to include the Dis name associated with each cabin for the FE list?
I have been doing my best to match them up for my own list, but I'm sure others would find it helpful as well :)
Of course some cabins won't have a name associated with them as some Dis'ers have more than one room for their party.

Marc and I are also doing the B2B. Our first few cruises out of FL were always the 4 nighters as we could never get enough time away from work to also spend time in WDW if we did longer ones. After retirement (and the move south of the border!) we did the WBTA in 2010 and LOVE those long cruises. This 12-night jaunt will be great and then we'll be able to spend some time at D'land (5 nights, I think it is) before we head back home.

We are continuing, sort of, the B2B tradition in March when we get on the Dream, off for 4 nights at WDW, and then finish up with the Fantasy's MV! We are definitely looking forward to that time as well!!

Cruising....it was made for us!

Michael

If anyone would like to participate in a FE Gift exchange, please let me know. I would be happy to organize one.

Thanks,
Jennifer

What is an FE exchange? what type of gifts are involved? do you give one per cabin per cruise or one per day? is it all up to the giver?

my friend and i booked an inside cabin and are first time disney cruisers. we are looking forward to the experience.

Thanks Janice. I so look forward to seeing you and Trevor again. :cool1:

I think Terry got us Palo brunch. Yay!!:dance3::dance3::dance3:

Reserved a Palo brunch for day 3 at 11am. Not sure if we'll keep it though, hubby thinks $20/pp is a lot when we could get food free somewhere else on board. I get his thinking, but I still really wanna try Palo, we never do stuff like that! (Especially with a 4yr old and a 10 month old!)

Maybe I can change his mind :)
