Sept 20,2011 Wonder Repositioning Cruise

I really need to start working on FE exchange items, I had all these great ideas and now....nothing. Thank goodness I still have 4 months but really, its coming so much quicker than I thought it would. I booked the cruise in 2009 and it seemed like it was so far away and I blinked and here it is. Off to the FE thread for some good ideas :)

Diane, where did you find the Grey Line tour of BG? I looked and did see anything except for a tour from Vancouver BC via ferry then bus. Can you point me to the tour? We might be interested in sharing a cab. Don’t know as yet.
Thanks
Amy

Unfortunately, I don't think Gray Line tours is operating anymore...Closer to summer I"m sure there'll be another company that will step in as I would imagine it's a big draw for the summer crowd.

Here's some info from the Butchart Gardens site

Definitely a must-see...

Thanks FergusBC....

I hate to say it but.... I have been to Vancouver Island a few times. But NEVER been to BG....

Amy

Brenda, as much as I would love to do the Tea, just not sure about the extra $ and DH only wants to go to the Gardens, so that is most likely the one that we will book. Can't book excursions and stuff until July though, so I will have to see what is available at the time.

I also would love to go to a Palo Brunch, but will have to see
we are not going to do the tea and actually thinking about trying to do this on our own..tickets are sooo much less to get them direct and if we can find a group to share some sort of public transp with - would sure make it a lot more affordable.
don't worry about palo brunch - if you can't get what you want online when it opens to you once on board just go straight to guest services and see what they have available...or book something online & then see if it can be changed...i've never had a problem getting something "CLOSE" to what i've wanted. Altho i am also looking fwd to being able to book as a gold member now

Yes,

Me (Diane) and BFF (Donna) will be doing this one as well. Last year I did a 7 day repo on NCL Pearl (daughter and SIL) bringing the ship up in April. We used Grayline tours and saved about 25 per person over what the ship was charging. We will use them again. Bus meets in front of the Empress Hotel. We took a cab down, spent about an hour and half walking around and then hopped on the bus to the Gardens. LOVED THEM..... The bus dropped us back off at the ship. They cannot pick up there because of some sort of contract but they can drop you off. About 50% of our tour were cruise people. Time was not an issue, as we had a couple of hours to spare on our return. Let me know if you would like to share a cabby into Victoria. Cost was only about $15.

Diane :flower3:
Yes let's definitely get a group going to share cabs or some kind of public trans....maybe us four 'single' gals should plan some stuff together

Oh I am SOOOO excited after reading this thread!!! My hubby and I are sailing with you guys and I just cannot wait!! This will be my 4th cruise and our 3rd cruise together (all on DCL :goodvibes). I am looking forward to some spa time - I've never been in the "rainforest" but am thinking about getting a 5-day pass.

We're flying into Vancouver on the 17th - we've always wanted to go to Vancouver and there's so much we want to do! Staying at Disney's GCH for a few days after the cruise.

I :love:the logo!! And I would love to join the FE exchange - Pam & Tim stateroom #7076 :)

Welcome Pam (from another Pam ;))! I'm SO surprised how many people are on this cruise without children! I think it will be a great time and am looking forward to meeting all of you and your families! :)

To those who have done the rain forest, is the 5-day rain forest pass really worth it?! :confused3 I'm debating it... more leaning to just one day. If I get a just one day pass, can I come and go throughout the day, or is it just a one-time visit during that day?

i always get the rain forest pass for the entire week...i really LOVE the heated lounges and use it a lot....the day pass will allow multiple entries on the same day

i am sooo excited for this trip...it's Dianne's first cruise, so am hoping she will really have a great time and will want to do others....as my DH refuses to cruise :sad2: but his loss - i LOVE DCL!

Okay this was a few pages back about transportation from the port to non-Disney Resort Hotels and I thought it was funny, because we (similarly) picked ... in-laws!

Now for those of us without relatives in the LA area...:rotfl: , I'm still trying to figure out how to do the Port to Disneyland thang...The itinerary says a 9:30 am arrival in Port. So if I were to book a shuttle/towncar whatever...do you think I'd be safe requesting a 10am pick up? Or might that be optimistic? We only have a couple of days to spend in DL so I don't want to be standing around waiting when I could be enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean! (I'm an instant gratification type of person :lmao:)

I think a10am pick up time will be fine - dcl does a great job gtg ppl off the ship in a timely fashion and ESP if they know you have a specific pick up time

We are heading straight to DL as well. Staying off site at BWPPI until 29th.
Sunday is the latest park hours and the only night to catch F! So we are hoping to get to hotel asap.

We are 2 groups of 4 - 4adults & 4 kids - I think the easiest & least pricey option will be taxi??

A super shuttle is probably your best bet - much less than two taxis and fits 9 passengers

We are doing DL after as well (can't be that close and not go) and am trying to plan transportation too. I was looking at Limos.com and was quoted about $90 for a town car from port to hotel which didn't sound to bad, I had read that most things run around $35 per person and there are 4 of us.

Does DL do fireworks only on the weekends?

We also looked into a limo for our group of 6, and got a quote for $99us. I think we are going to go with that :) Hoe fun to get picked up in a limo!!

Okay, I made a reservation with Karmel for a shared shuttle @ $68 from Port to Hotel. That seemed a good price so if it takes us a bit longer going the shared route, well so be it - I'll think of it as having a few more bucks in hand for souvenirs :yay:

I enjoyed the pics from Yukongirl123. I enjoyed Skagway when I visited in 2008.

Thanks Luis. I like Skagway, it's a nice day trip from where we live...

Omigosh! If I don't get a cabin number before the cruise, I will cry!!!

Don't worry, if you weren't assigned a cabin # when you booked, they'll assign one between 30-45 days before we sail, if not the life boats are pretty roomy :rotfl2:

Welcome Aboard :cheer2:

OK, so I'm just gonna put this out there. In my family, we never do surprises anyways, so surprises just aren't my thing! LOL! I knew the exact day that DF was going to propose, and every birthday/Christmas/Mother's Day/Father's Day, etc... my family just tells each other exactly what they want, and often goes together to pick them out so that we get EXACTLY what that person wants! LOL! So, this is no different, I guess. It's just not in my nature to do surprises. ;)

So, I know not everyone is going to want/like the type of necklaces that I make, so I don't want to make necklaces for people who don't want/like them. BUT, I LOVE making these necklaces!!! :yay: I've got just about every color of thread (although I don't believe I have pink :() and just about every color of bead. If you would LIKE one of these necklaces, I would LOVE to make one for you! :) Yes, this will *probably* count as ONE of your FE's, but I've got several things I'm working on so it will not be your ONLY FE (I'm just having WAY too much fun making things! LOL! :)) Just let me know your neck size, or your kids' neck sizes, and color choices (please give me a few ;)) and I'll be happy to oblige. Here are some pics to give you some ideas of what I do. :)

I love these Pam!

These are great and would look especially nice wearing them on Pirate Night. Since I am traveling alone I decided not to particiapte in the FE, however wanted to mention that I think this is a great FE idea and the kids/adults would love them.

Thanks everyone! :grouphug:

Yes Crystal, I could definitely have time to make some! :) Just get me the colors and neck sizes (or wrist sizes if you want bracelets) and I'd be happy to do that! :)

I love the necklaces!!!!! They would be perfect for pirate night - I will get you colors soon too - thank you for being so creative and sharing that creativity! Just got off the phone with Dianne - she just booked our Amtrak tix!!! Wooooohooo it's all really coming together and so fast but I've always booked at least a year out so this is so exciting to have a booking only 5 months out!!!

Who is seeing potc this weekend?

We are planning on seeing POTC as soon as possible. Since we live so far north we don't always get the movies on their release date......

Janice

I'm seeing POTC when my fiancé comes to town next weekend! :cool1:

OK, I just found my box of necklace stuff (I found the bag last week... this week, I found the box. LOL! ;)). And, I've got light brown, green, blue (2 different colors - light and dark), purple, orange and I DO have pink! :) No red. :( So, those are the string choices. You can choose up to two colors. Then I'll do the best I can with the beads matching what I've got to the colors depending on what looks best. I'm excited to be making some necklaces and bracelets! I've been needing a new FE project! Getting bored with the current one! LOL! :rotfl:

Those necklaces look great. I would love a bracelet with the purple (about 81/2 or 9 inches)
